I remember playing Below Freezing Point with two other people, I was playing as David and they were Yoko and Alyssa. I had messed up in the beginning and my virus gauge was pretty much at max when we were waiting for the train to raise to the boss. I gave them my gun and herbs and they were emoting, David, no. And then I jumped off the platform and they responded with David, No, Come Here. I turned around and had turned into a zombie and both players walked backwards recoiling and after a brief moment, responded with David, no. David, thank you. Good times.
This game would be a complete hit today. With the online multiplayer era at its highest point and the 90s nostalgia stronger than ever, an online game with the formula of the older RE would be perfect. They should at the very least make an HD remaster with updated netcode and all of that.
a very underrated game! I bought this game when it came out, and it was so freaking original from a RE perspective! Good play brother. You really have the talent!! Keep it up!
Really like your videos, man. I've been planning some risky runs (knife only, no saves, handgun only and etc) in older RE games for some time now and your videos are helping me strategize how I'll pull that off.
This was one of my fav horror games when I was still in high school!...watching you playing any RE games before I go to sleep is on my to do list lately 👍🏽. You are so good at it!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love your videos so much!! I watch them as background noise for when I go to bed. RE has always had a special place in my heart and I love that there are people out there who like the series enough to play the games in different ways. Keep up the videos dude!!
I really want the outbreak series also possibly file 3 to get remastered/made in File 3's case/with good servers for the PC and maybe consoles. Problem is I don't think this game will do well since gaming is still about the money and this game is kinda dated and i know alot of people may lose their minds over this game's control. Sigh I do wish this game gets remastered.
it also makes a little bit of sense on why Jim's Bellyflop does increase his virus gauge, If you think about it, depending on how the virus spreads, it can spread in Bodily Waste, Like in a sewer, Or it can spread along surfaces, Like on the floor with infected inside. It makes a lot of sense, and i have to say i appreciate the little touches they made to the game to make it a lot more realistic.
I'm glad you commentate.I watch a lot of speed runs and most people don't explain what they're doing.I saw your runs at show and they got me into running resident evil games too
First time on your channel. Really good run and oh man I remember my runs of this game back in 2004 to 2009 on this outbreak series being absolute hell in single player mode on the hardest difficulty modes because of the AI but I did them all with S or A ranks :D. You've also done alot of runs so i better get to watching all of them then.
The Resident Evil Outbreak games had the "Logic Maze" aspect to them that I loved. It was looking at a problem or obstacle and finding the solution that required you to think was genius and, unfortunately, ahead of it's time as a concept in video games. I want a return to this in new games, because it was challenging without watering down the puzzles with obvious answers, but at the same time it wasn't too hard.
Prince Goat Cheese absolutely, earlier REs had a formula that was not only compelling, it made exploration compelling. Text commentary, supply management, puzzles, et al.
I picked up a ps3 for dirt cheap recently, installed rebug on it and decided to get this game since I haven’t played it since release. I knew I had to come see ol’ carcinogen for tips on running in a decent time. I love your vids man. Your voice is soothing af.
I remember trying to beat this game. It was a great concept, but I might have been able to stick it out with actual people to play with. The AI controlled partners were about as helpful as Sheva...
Tilting Owl ouch, i know that feeling man. But did you have to roast her that bad? Even though she's fucking useless. * Sheva cries in the background while ranting at capcom*
Tilting Owl I loved when the ai controlled partners would take items needed for progression and fucking die somewhere so I'd have to go search for them for like thirty mins 10/10
Man, this brings back good old memories! I Still have both Outbreak games, just no space for my PS2, LMAO. But you sure did make me ache for those games again!!! I used to have a spreadsheet with all the things you needed to do to unlock everything, bet never got all of it done....more like 60 to 65% of the entire list (each)... Great vid! New Sub gained bro!
I was watching the World Record of Doom on the Ultra Nightmare setting speed run last night and was thinking I cant wait until CarcinogenSDA uploads something +1
I remember the games so well. All the choices we had to make of Resident Evil Outbreak, by being careful, save ammo, hard choices if ye want to ignore your AI partners. From beating Easy, Medium, Hard and Very Hard. It was one of my most played games on PS2. And still having the two game copies of the game series. But from watching this video, made it seem much easier than I ever done it. Love the speedrun and how long you manage to stay alive. I should try and set it up and play it again. Hopefully they can turn this into a HD release someday...
this was very impressive your belly flopping is on point! lol Nah seriously this was awesome I've watched other people do this in co op and the zombies always catch up you did great your mind must have been racing the entire time to keep moving forward so quickly great job
Oh hey! Just noticed that I watched your RE7 speedrun on AGDQ... or SGDQ (These acronyms kill me) a while back. Recognized your name after using this video to help with Outbreak strats
It's nice to see someone that also likes Outbreak. Terribly underrated. I loved the online mode despite it's flaws. Nice run. Are you aware that single player is significantly different from the online aspect in terms of difficulty, and enemy/item placement?
CarcinogenSDA Never knew that! Thanks to you, I am interested in playing again. Did you also know there are several "scrapped" characters hidden in the game files only accessible through cheat engines?
CarcinogenSDA Never knew that! Thanks to you, I am interested in playing again. Did you also know there are several "scrapped" characters hidden in the game files only accessible through cheat engines?
Pablo Molina I might be late but there is an emulator that runs the game where you can play online. (There still isn't enough players though probably from the lack of people knowing)
greenhead225, you do not have to rely on emulator. You can access it via console as well just like I am doing. File 2 is pretty active. There is not a single access I could not get a 4/4 season. Can not say the same for File 1 but even File 1 has many active players compared to most of the other PS2 games.
I wasn’t sure if I had already seen this video years ago and then the 9:00 mark comes up. “GTF out of the way” still made me lol after all these years.
If they re-released Outbreak files 1 and 2 downloadable with fixed netcode I would pay $60+ USD/CAD for them all over again. Yeah the controls were meh, but once you got used to them that game was so much fun to play online.
That sleep hornet elevator was great. I'm glad DkS 3 has a similar gesture. If I want to play Outbreak for the story and gameplay solo, do you think the US version on PCSX2 would work? Asking just because I remember reading about version differences and it seemed that US release had some things cut out.
I love this game! I wish it could get remastered. My favorite memory is doing that roof jump from the beginning with the 2 AI standing above me (I didn't make it and was hanging on). I kept asking them to help and they kept saying they couldn't do that and then after forever I fell off.
This game was amazing. The only problem I had with it was the fact that you had a timer. I feel like you shouldn't have a death timer until you are bitten.
Everyone here talking about heart felt and emotional memories they had playing Outbreak. Meanwhile, I was playing as David and a Kevin and I were waiting for the rest of the group in Desparate Time's and I was saying "Kevin" while doing the 'Go' point at him. Then, he would point at *me* saying "David". _THEN_ the missing Alyssa shows up and we both turn and look at her, then look at each other, then point at her and say _"Alyssa!"_ literally a Monkey See, Monkey Do moment.
Oh, I remember this game from my childhood... ...Mainly because I was too bloody incompetent to make it outta the wine cellar in the very first level. :P

I missed this game... I really liked this and 2, but it was so underrated. some thinks it was a boring game. but the eerie feeling of RE game is in this game as well. hoping they remaster this game and outbreak 2!
You earned a sub. Love Outbreak 1 and 2 and really wish they would make a 3rd one with the same gameplay from the 2nd. Too bad the sheep don't like this kind of game.
Men, watching you play this stress the shit out of me XD worst part was with Jim, I would have lost all hope and let myself die XD great run (thumbs up)
FoxyAreku also goon this one using alyssa , infact 8 special items are obtain while playing it on V.Hard , lonewolf , time is also fast but i don't remember who is faster between both of you. This video is great coz you are explaining everything and different strategies.
This game to me shows that remake could have been on ps2 as it was on gamecube. I bet they use a similar engine. wish some how someone could port remake to ps2 or dreamcast using the outbreak or veronica engines. pipe dreams... Love the video. I bought this game back in the day just for the offline mode.
Great video, any chance of a commentated run of the second game? (You've done it already, but no commentary I think). Dare I ask for the impossible and request a no damage run of either game :P
A mate of mine bought this game roughly when it came out. I later bought it in a collection, along with 4 and CVX. I beat the first level, but that was as far as I got. I'd load it up, but I no longer have a PS2.

i think you played the wrong game. If I remember it right that’s Resident Evil Outbreak Onion Cutting Edition.
I'm not crying you crying
This is a better, more emotional plot, than all the Resident Evil movies combined.
Bro the feels in this game tho
I know this comment is years old but it still touched me
This game would be a complete hit today. With the online multiplayer era at its highest point and the 90s nostalgia stronger than ever, an online game with the formula of the older RE would be perfect. They should at the very least make an HD remaster with updated netcode and all of that.
But no instead we got REsistance
and compile the missions of the two games together.
I guess you can say they are “REsistant” to give us Outbreak.
get out
now
@@CarcinogenSDA lol :P
I signed petitions to have this rereleased. This was my most addicitive online game that I found two very close friends on. I miss this game so much.
try finding them on obsrv.org
I knew about this maybe a year ago and didn't have a strong enough PC to run it but now I do. Thanks so much for the reminder!
They might soon
i like the sound of old games in the menu & inventory.. beep beep beuwwppp
# time2play lol there's a small easter egg for that sound in RE7.
8DarthGhost8 Yup. When you use the keypad when trying to get to Lucas Baker
Nah nah nah the foot steps are the good part
like if you liked the sound of me clicking my mouse like I'm doing something important!
plan on trying outbreak file 2?
CarcinogenSDA
Does anyone remember the official flash game Outbreak? I play this in 2005-2007, but now i cant find it. No info or something about this flash game.

its so amazing to see you play while talking... how you do it?

I really want this game back. I never had online for my ps2 and now that online is everywhere, it'd be wise to rerealease this on the present systems
I'm pretty surprised that this hasn't received more attention back in the days. The mechanism must really have been something new.
What a legendary title in gaming history. This, MH, and XI got me sooooooo hyped as a kid.

After watching so many of Carci's No Damage runs, I felt almost shocked to see his health drop bellow 100% :O
I feel you but yesterday i watched his code veronica run from some years ago. Now thats a true shocker. Eaten in nearly every room lol
Dab up the stairs lol
No.
Pro strats right there lol
Dude finally someone who loves Outbreak as well this was a nice run also I think I'll play this on emulator from now on.
Can't wait for HD! Thanks for posting these, very fun to watch!
This and Outbreak 2 need remasters (or even another one). Capcom instead uses their time to make Umbrella Corps...
They are too busy giving us another re4 port yet again and re5 re6 port thanks capcom kappa
Jockey107 resident evil 2 remastered. this had decent graphics for a resident evil game. I want to speed run re2 in hd.
I really want the outbreak series also possibly file 3 to get remastered/made in File 3's case/with good servers for the PC and maybe consoles.

Ill take a new outbreak game. cant wait for re 2 hd
I think they're aware of the interest in it. The some of the barricade mechanics popped up in the RE2 gameplay and RE7 name dropped Alyssa.
Good shit my dude, brings back memories of a few years ago when I used to speedrun both games.

Best speed run videos I've ever seen. It's great how you explain the tricks to achieving faster completion times.
I loved this game and played it online every day for a very long time. It was ahead of its time and I really wish we'd get a remaster or sequel.
Still rewatching yours speedruns.
You're best, thanks
i was never able to complete outbreak, im glad you did this run it all makes more sence now :)
@Vandole I guess i wasnt clear enough: i wasnt able to finish it since i only borrowed it from a classmate once for a short time

Are you aware that single player is significantly different from the online aspect in terms of difficulty, and enemy/item placement?

it is possible to lock an item seed to set 1 by being the host and hard-resetting your PS2/emulator as well.

This game was amazing. The only problem I had with it was the fact that you had a timer. I feel like you shouldn't have a death timer until you are bitten.
MrGamerman001 If I recall correctly, on Normal and Easy difficulties the viral timer doesn't start until you're bitten
Upon replaying it I was wrong, at least on normal it just starts automatically
It assumed that the population of raccoon city is exposed to the virus due water pollution.
I think you were able to stop the counter if you use a healing item

I hope this game can do remake
yes
