2022 Teilhard de Chardin Lecture

The Hank Center is honored to welcome the Fall 2022 Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, S.J. Fellow in Catholic Studies, Kathleen Sprows Cummings to offer this year’s lecture. This year's lecture is titled "A New Kind of Saint: Catholics and Canonization in the 21st Century," and will also include a live discussion and Q&A following the lecture.

Catholic Academia has lost its mind. Chardin's theories were proven wrong, and let's take them to their 'naturally selective' end....it would totally contradict the reason for the Incarnation and Original Sin! And a "SAINT???" Go read what Pope Pius XII said about your "Saint"!?? Unbelievable.

@@shinseiki2015 Since I'm sure you think I dont know, his entire adoption of Darwinian Evolution as fact, and trying to marry religion to that understanding. He stated that the human species emerged from matter and spirit. At that beginning of "concsiousness", he calls the start of "true religion". He believed there's no such thing as pure matter and pure spirit. What he called, "The Omega Point" in history will happen when Christ appears and unites everyone to make them a "Ultra Human." He says we're still in that development stage, still evolving, until "Christ" finishes the "evolution" of man. This obviously contradicts Roman Catholic Church teachings on Creation, Original Sin, Redemptive suffering of Jesus, Sacramental System, the Sacrifice of the Mas, etc., etc. If you believe that man "EVOLVED" from a primitive species through gradual changes over billions of years, you would have to reject or greatly transform ALL of Divine Revelation. His theories were censored by Church authorities in his day, rightfully so,, even by Saint John XXIII, the "progressive" Pope. For some reason, boomer priests are bringing back his writings and trying to adopt them as a new "cosmology". Unbelievable, but in today's Church I'm not surprised.
