- A night of adventure in Kowloon City
Kowloon City is a place where streets full of history and culture blend seamlessly with striking ‘art pieces’ around the district. Digital artist Derry Ainsworth uses the city as his canvas and loves strolling around Hong Kong alleys at night. What fascinates him most in Kowloon City?
When the shops close, shutters roll down and turn into canvases full of colourful paintings. In the space above the sidewalk, neon lights flash and billboards of every colour, shape and size blink into the night. Nan Kok Cafe is another hidden gem in Kowloon City. Located on the ground floor of a pre-war tenement building on Nam Kok Road, Nan Kok took over the location of a time-honoured hardware store. The interior design is preserved with the building's old fixtures, like the old Tonghua iron gate and wooden pavilion. When you drop by next time, be sure to get a ‘taste’ of the old Kowloon City!
夜遊九龍城：不一樣嘅地道風景
九龍城一直都畀人新舊共融嘅感覺，舊建築配上新嘅藝術創作，吸引唔少藝術家嚟搵靈感。本身係建築師，但後來轉行做攝影師嘅Derry Ainsworth，就特別鍾意夜遊香港街頭，走到邊影到邊，仲會將佢哋轉化成NFT作品。就等我哋跟住Derry嘅鏡頭夜遊九龍城，或者會發掘到唔一樣嘅風景？
細心留意，夜晚嘅九龍城充滿驚喜，霓虹燈處處，有啲捲閘畫滿圖畫，抬頭望或者仲會喺橋底搵到以啟德機場做主題嘅飛機剪影。另外，九龍城係香港最老舊嘅社區之一，區內有好多幢歷史悠久嘅唐樓，位於南角3號唐樓地下嘅南角咖啡店前身係一間被丟空多年嘅五金店，店主希望盡量保留店中嘅歷史痕跡，有別於一般「文青cafe」，佢保留咗舊有「怡順榮」招牌、手拉通花鐵閘、閣樓同埋麻石牆壁。店內嘅食物亦係由區內購買嘅泰國香料同食材炮製，「食」情懷，亦「食」到九龍城風味！
