I have bad driving anxiety, so I know how it feels. Also my boyfriend got a new car so all he wants to do is drive so I am the same as he does all the driving when we are together. However, the best thing is to just drive. I know that sounds silly but that’s how it works. More you drive you get more confident. You could have Brandon in the car in case you have a panic moment so he can take over, also he can tell you what lane etc if that’s something you worry about. I fount it easier to drive at night to get used to the roads as less cars around. Also if you don’t know where you are going can always try a trail run before. I have be driving for years now and I think everyone still gets nervous going to unknown places but please drive babe, don’t give it up as it opens up a different world. Hope this helps❤️

Hey Erin just a couple of suggestions about driving... firstly I recommend taking yourself out of the situation and think about someone coming to you to get your advice about driving. Try and think about the specific advice you would give them. I would also recommend thinking specifically about what your fears are and how to solve them. For example if you are worried about parking at tescos thoroughly plan the situation ie. If you're going to drive straight into the space or reverse. By thinking through these situations, you can eliminate the sources of worry. Also, I don't known if this is possible but book one driving lesson with an instructor to refresh your memory in a safe environment. Hope this helped xx
I have driving anxiety too! My biggest piece of advice is to DON’T GIVE UP! keep going on little road trips everyday or every other day you keep you in the loop, even if it’s for 5 minutes. Also, what I do is on Sunday morning really early I go on a little road trip on my own because the roads are so so dead and nobody’s about and it’s so peaceful and has helped me a lot. You’ve got this!! 💘
Driving with someone else in the car, listening to calming sounds or music when you drive, start with small drives and slowly increase, get yourself into a mindset before you drive that this is where I'm going it will take 20 minutes and then it's done you just need to prepare yourself and sometimes having people with you is good

I found using a satnav really helpful because not knowing where I was going was the worst part for me - stick at it and it will get better x
When I first started driving lessons I had to take rescue remedy pastilles and they really helped! And then the more I drove the more confident you get and don’t have to take them anymore xx

I recently passed my driving test and i feel exactly the same way! I had a bad experience on a hill and then i developed a phobia of driving anywhere with hills and just driving in general. I would have panic attacks before driving and sometimes got myself in such a state that it would be dangerous for me to drive at that time. My boyfriends dad took my out and made me do a million hill starts and drive on roads that make me feel uncomfortable. This defo helped me so much and i defo don’t feel as much anxiety while driving now. Practice things you feel uncomfortable with it really helped me!💕xxx

The driving anxiety is horrible btw! I had it so bad for at least the first 2 years honestly and that’s driving almost everyday and one day I just felt so calm and talked myself into it and I’ve honestly been fine ever since 😂! I sometimes get stressed going to new places but always think if you take the wrong turn you can always turn around every time xxx

I’m the same as you Erin when it comes to driving anxiety. If I want to drive to new places I have to practise weeks before... That would be my tip... it’s not ideal but it means your out driving. If it’s last minute I always have to drive with either my dad or boyfriend.. because if I do have a panic attack I know they can take over. I think it comes with time for sure!!!
