Today’s video is all about gastrointestinal drugs for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.
Gastrointestinal drugs all have specific uses and applications for patients with GI issues. They’re placed into three main categories: those that prevent acid production (H2 blockers), those that reduce stomach acidity (proton pump inhibitors), and those that help relieve constipation (laxatives).
We’ve got plenty of GI pharmacology memory tricks to help with your NCLEX exam or nursing school course.

As a pharmacy student, I find myself studying and learning from your videos as most topics from our subjects are not even tackled in other CZcams channels, really.
The little phrases you use to help us remember are SO helpful. "Before you dine = -tidine", "antacid = anti mix". Thank you!

OMG! This video was so helpful. I've struggled with belching for years but its recent intensity has forced me to seek help from cardiologists, pulmonary, and GI specialists. All efforts were to no avail. But, hearing the breakdown of the otc meds and their intended use has given me direction. Thanks.
Thank you nurse mike, you are a great teacher and really help me survive my pharmacology course.
U taught me more than the lecture my teacher gave 😡

So I decided to pay the 40 dls a month as you know I'm a nursing student I'm broke but I figured time is money and if I don't pass I repeat these classes. I did it and I reviewed the sections I needed pharm and med Surg for gastro and diabetes taking the quizzes as I finished. My teacher posted a kahoot and guess who passed all the questions 👀🙋😭😭😭omg Thank You soooo much you are definitely worth the 40 dollars a month!!! You made a miracle out of me Mr. I appreciate you 🙏Muchas Gracias for your content. I recommend you here and to my classmates 👏👏👏👏♥️

sucralfate is the best
Can you take sucralafate and anti acid together (different times)? Or are you saying it’s one or the other? This is what I was prescribed
I was on medication for GERD & went on vacation out of the country. I got really sick a few days later. I had explosive vomiting & diarrhea for hours. Needless to say, my fun in the sun was short-lived. The next time I went out of the country I didn't take any medication. I discovered apple vinegar cider & nolonger have a GERD issue. Your thoughts on this . TKS
Thank you

i have gerd and lpr and have been taking ppi and h2 blockers which gives me severe depression. the depression goes away when i stop taking them. i googled and found this to be common side effect. i take tums instead but they are not nearly as good for treating my gerd. i tried all different brands of ppi's and h2 blockers and all have the same side effect with me.
It's exclnt👌

Prostaglandins??
So no side effects for H2 blockers?? You named them for PPIs but what about H2? I’ve also been told that you can take H2 blockers with Carafate. But this video says do not take anything with carafate? I’m confused. 🤷♂️
