- Just like that my first year of college is over :( It feels so surreal this school year went by so so fast but i had the BEST TIME EVER. I wanted to capture all the feelings in this video before they went away. I'm so grateful to everyone who made my experience. I hope this video was helpful to those planning to go to SJSU or just hesitant about staying home for college I FEEL YOU. Enjoy!

i’m a senior in high school, and i just got accepted to sjsu, it’s the only uni that i applied to. this is really helpful for me (even though i’m gonna major in accounting) thank you for this 🥺🤍

SJSU is amazing for accounting. If you want to go the "Big 4" track, they hire a ton of SJSU grads. I graduated from state 12 years ago in accounting and can't recommend it enough. UC's don't have an "accounting" degree, you have to major in Economics and they don't offer as many technical courses as State. You will learn much more applicable accounting at State vs UC and you will be more equipped to handle the CPA exam after college, if that's your end-goal. Best of luck!

I can relate to this SO much. I graduated from San Jose State as well and I have mixed feelings about it. My bf studied mechanical engineering and some of the software they taught isn't what's used in the industry. He had to teach himself the other tools that where on job resumes he was applying to. However, it was the most affordable option for my parents too! Can't beat that. Wish I joined more clubs like you! Great video :)
Don't worry. You will be working next to engineers for those UC schools you wanted to go to. SJSU is very underrated for sure... Maybe if SJSU lowered their acceptance rate people would appreciate it more. I loved my time at SJSU and I ended up working with people from Stanford and Cal...but with zero debt.

I got accepted to SJSU a few weeks ago but it's my safety school.. still waiting for the rest of my UC decisions b/c I'm worried about the safety issue in Downtown SJ

I'm a transfer student and SJSU is my top choice! A big pro for me was the location near Silicon Valley c: I'm trying to apply as a computer science major but the software engineering major appeals to me as well. I'm wondering what are the differences between the computer science and software engineering major at SJSU?

Who can I talk to about transferring and enrolling? I emailed a few of sjsu support emails and received 0 emails back. Do you know someone in particular? Or a specific email to discuss this about?
right now because of the whole covid situation they've been kind of slow with responding but you can try contacting the bursar office if you have any questions about admissions!
What was your top choice for college if money wasn't an issue

Why did you choose software engineering over computer science
software engineering and comp sci have super similar roadmaps in terms of classes but i felt like CS dealt more with theory and application vs software engineering, which dealt with more of the creation/engineering process which I preferred! if that makes sense haha

Ugh bro its the opposite for me I wanted to go to SJSU ( 4+1 program) but i was told to go to UCLA. Ofc i literally knew nothing about colleges like i thought you had to be accepted into CC’s
