    A better fix for the Deebot N79 that keeps going in circles than just kicking it, kicking it un-wedges the buttons that keep getting stuck eventually the kicking wont work anymore because it sticks them even worse.
    just need two tools a #1 phillips screw driver and a thin razor knife

      Same. I pushed the buttons in, thought it wasn't the them because they bounced back just fine. After 3rd time of taking it apart, I tugged on the left, and it "clicked" ever so slightly. Now works

    Thank you so much! I was so happy with the first N79 that I purchased a 2nd and enough parts for years. The 2nd developed this problem and when I took it apart I missed that stuck switch. I purchased another since I had all the parts and now a parts N79. The 3rd developed the same problem and I kind of gave up on them but kept them for parts or a possible repair in the future. I found your video and decided to check the switches and they were stuck on both. I had them both cleaned up and running in less than an hour!

    Monk rides again!!!!! right on!!! the switch was jambing on the one side just like you showed. used a box knife to cut it away a bit . works perfect again.... I had to replace my 3 year old batt, it made a huge diff in performance too... did this on my standard eufy and my 11+, tested batt voltage and it was perfect but the batts were not putting out enough amps to run the motors. expected the Lion batts to last 10 years but guess all the batt data is just hype. I use these in my personal 2400 sqft garage/shop makes huge diff keeping the dust under control....

    Just had our N79SE do the same thing. Followed your instructions for disassembly and didn’t find any tabs to cut, but did find that one of the little bumper actuators wasn’t extending all the way. Played with it a bit to clear whatever the jam was then reassembled. Sure enough, problem solved! Thanks for the help!

    Thank you! Same solution applied to fixing my Deebot 901 that would spin and only go backwards. After pulling off the bumper I found the spring loaded sensors (looked different), mine were tangled in the wires and didn't need to be shaved down.

  • @mackiej
    @mackiej Před 2 lety +1

    It worked! Thank you.
    My N79 is from 2017 and it is still running strong thanks to a new battery and re-lubricated electric motor. If you replace the battery, be careful to get the correct battery connector.
    At 1:45 the white plug is unplugged from the bumper. This plug maybe stuffed inside the N79 body and later fished out with needle nose pliers. This eliminates the risk of accidentally cutting wires with the X-Acto knife!
    Trim both buttons/housings. The other button wasn't catching yet, but it was almost catching.

    Thank you for your helpful video. I had stuck my DEEBOT in a closet last year after taking the sensor bar apart and cleaning it as the manual suggests and nothing changed. It still went round in circles. This time, following your video I discovered one of the bars was stuck, and after popping it out, putting it back together, away it went. I did try to cut away some of the plastic but seems it wasn’t necessary. Thank you again, I have missed it!

    The moveable bumper sensors also have a tendency to collect dust and material like, well, like a vacuum cleaner. So you have to stick a blunt object or wetted Q-Tip in there to get all the junk out. Top, bottom and to the sides. Only disassemble further to take off the shell if you have a strong tummy, because you will find compacted dust bunnies all through guts of the cleaner. You’ll wonder why its still working….

    Any advice if the buttons don't "hang" or get stuck? I know it has something to do with the bumper, since bumping it will get it going again and the Deebot will start going in circles when it bumps into something, but when I stop it, I don't notice that the bumper is stuck at all, and when I remove the bumper, I don't see anything getting caught or stuck. I'm able to push down on the buttons like at 2:20 and they pop back up without a problem. I should mention that I accidentally dropped the robot from about 4 feet a week ago, and it beeps twice after it spins around a few times. Thanks Giggin'em Outdoors for the video--at least I was able to inspect it.

    that is not the actual cause. The motor is failing. Mine goes in circles now w/o the sensor bumper installed. I disconnected the sensor bumper and still goes in circles, the left side motor is no longer working. I think when the motor start going bad, it would stop and then occasionally start but eventually it fails. I can feel the resistance on the left motor being so much stronger when turning it by hand. It probably seized up slightly and burned.
