The Nets defeated the Raptors, 109-104. Kyrie Irving recorded 30 points (20 in the 2nd half) and 7 assists for the Nets, while Kevin Durant (27 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists) and Ben Simmons (6 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) added a combined 33 points in the victory. Pascal Siakam led all scorers with 37 points (15-20 FG), 13 rebounds and 11 assists for the Raptors, his 4th career triple-double. I'm actually worried for the Raptors: 2 close, back-to-back games where their starters broke 34 minutes on the docket. This team is at heavy risk of turning into a Thibodeau Squad and being gassed by the time the games start to matter. The bench isn't doing anything to warrant security, most of all. It looks like it'll be a tough season for this team.

I know I talk about how players that can't consistently play 36 mpg a season are soft, but right now it's more indicative of how lacking in depth your team is to put your best players over the threshold in the first place. Nurse is one of the best X and Os coaches in the league, bar none, but I hope that this team breaks out and we get a proper rotation of players as the season goes.
