I have the Wurlitzer 1015 OMT on 45's. I bought it brand new in 1992, still have it, and it's never had a problem. (knock on wood)

All good apart from I don't like the "Compact Disk" lettering at the top of the glass arch, can that be removed?

The CD format is dead now. In fact, the repro bubbler machines with a 45 RPM record mechanism (which is no longer made) are now more desirable than this CD version by thousands of dollars. By the way, you are incorrect about the end of 78 records. They were produced until 1958.

Please provide me with substantiated proof that shows CDs are obsolete? LOL! The CD format is still the most widely used & purchased medium. Particular since the advent of blank media - ie. CD-R. Even among rock purists such as myself, I still prefer it to vinyl. Do CDs invoke the same appreciation and warm memories of buying vinyl in- store? No!

Actually, the CD Jukeboxes are STILL being made by Sound Leisure and Rock Ola, and new Vinyl Jukeboxes also made a comeback.

Why did they do away with the arch design in 1950? Because the last jukebox to have that design was the AMI C.

IS THE 1946 ORIGINAL 78 RPM VERSION FOR SALE ANYWHERE???

I thought the bubblers were a harsh solvent in a glass tube with crystal in the bottom. Maybe that was just the original.

You just provided an answer to your own question! eh The replicas are overpriced, averaging in the mid to late thousands. The actual intrinsic value should be in the mid to late hundreds when compared to the original Wurlitzers from the 40s & 50s. You can also seek out jukebox-style replicas from Crosley which averages $1400 new. Also, am I the only one who pishes his pants at the term, "Antique Apparatus?" LOL!
