- Hi folks, with Gibson now manufacturing there inspired by Gibson range in China. There is information now available for you to identify where your guitar is made. Either in China or Indonesia.

I have a 2008 Chinese Masterbilt Epiphone and it's fantastic.
I had Indonesian Epiphones of 2011 and 2017. Mediocre at best.
I have 3 Chinese Sigma guitars and their quality is fantastic. Looks, sound, fit and finish, they're just great. A bit pricey, but REALLY on another level, better than any Epiphone.
The ibg's didn't start till 2020 from Indonesia.. not even remotely the same as your 2011 or 2017.. the Indonesian ibg's j45, hummingbird,j200, the masterbuilt Texan, Dove,and the masterbuilt excellante are fantastic guitars reviewed by notable guitarists. I have three of them myself couldn't be happier.

Country of origin don't determine if a guitar is good or not. Whoever puts it together does. I have played many USA, and Canadian made guitars that have been unbelievably bad.

This Indonesia made Epi is one of the best guitars I've ever bought.
Definitely a keeper
@@5150show nope. Like anything, you have to see it and play it to really know if it's a good guitar for you.
I wouldn't touch those made in china inspired EPis . Too many reviews saying they are crap
