Pros:
Result in 3-5 days
Fewer people , less noise
Clock on screen
sheet and pencil is provided
Whole passage on screen
Copy and paste the answer (less spelling error)
Highlight the word
Can take notes
Can edit the lines ( writing section)
Word Count
Ctrl X and Ctrl V works here
Cons:
Just 2 minutes for reviewing the answers after the listening exam
Typing speed should be better
Typos can affect score
Typos are not marked red
if we talk about listed cons that hardly affects if you are good in typing
Just 2 minutes for reviewing the answers after the listening exam - you won't need this as you get enough time to review after every section
Typing speed should be better - that's the main point to be taken care of
Typos can affect score - same is applicable in paper writing
Typos are not marked red - we don't get this in paper writing as well
Thanks Ramandeep. Where to practise computer based ielts?
@@Kirti_Sirohi I prepared through ielts with rob, it is really good
@@MukeshGupta259 CZcams? I need some practise paper online
Can you please tell me they give you Computer or laptop
I love how you get straight to the point
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It’s been quite helpful 🥰
You are a very special teacher, your future carrier will prove my view.
thank you for all your shows and help .
A very helpful and to-the-point guide. Thank you so much
This was a much needed video. Thank you. I was looking for a video describing the cbt, and found this. This video was exactly what I needed.. thank you. ❤
Hi Asiya, I got my IELTS result a couple of days back and got an overall score of 8 (L:9 R:8.5 S:8 W:7). I took a computer-based test and had no idea about the test format as it was my first appearance, but your videos and materials helped a lot in familiarizing the test pattern. Thank you a lot for helping me to secure the desired result within a short span (My preparation time was less than 20 days).
This is an amazing result. Congratulations! And all the best in your future endeavours
@mohan ram Please give some tips how you score this great result?? And congratulations 👏
@@shiprahaldar1401 Thank you. I practiced listening and reading sections using Cambridge IELTS Academic books. For writing, just done some self-practice and checked for errors using Grammarly.
@@mohanram3385 was it difficult to type in a computer based during listening... difficult as in time consuming as compared to paper based
@@himanshubajaj4792 I didn't feel any such difficulties. I practiced by typing the answers in MS word for reading and listening sections and it helped in getting comfortable with the format. If you have a good typing speed, you won't find it difficult.
Thanks for acknowledging us about the computer-based IELTS test. Your articulate nature of description is really helpful to catch on 👍🏻
Thank you so very much for this vid🙏 it’s just precious, no one ielts course don’t describe it in details. Thank you ❤❤❤
Good demo. This is very helpful especially for people taking this test the 1st time.
You are simply amazing. Every single video of yours I watched makes the exam easier.
Please have you done it
Thank you so much for providing this valuable information. Your effort in this regard is appreciable.
Hi Asiya, you explained every bit of the IELTS CBT exam in detail. The video cleared my doubts.
Thanks a million Asiya ! Your videos are very helpful. I love your channel. Its the best one in terms of preparing for ielts tests ❤️
Coincidentally, this video was released on the same day I took my computer-based exam. I find it much more comfortable taking the computer-based exam; I couldn’t find any disadvantages in the format. The major advantage for me had to be the copy and paste function which allows you to move paragraphs in Writing accordingly, whereas in the paper-based exam, you can’t do that since it requires erasing your entire essay
what about the readings are they the same passage and format as paper based exam?
were you allowed to use the notepad whilst listening to the audio recording?
Are they both marked by computer? Or it's just the computer based thats marked by computer
Was a mouse provided ?
@Raviteja G Yes, they will provide one.
Subscribed, liked and commented as well. Love the way you explained each and every details.
Thank you so much for your striking efforts🤲
Thanks so much for the video. It is the exact one that I was looking for.

Wow, thank you
Thanks a lot. I really loved your channel and have even mentioned it in my LinkedIn post in which I've written about my results and shared my experience about preparing for IELTS. Without any coaching and in just one month, I managed to score an overall band score of 8.0 with L-9.0, R-8.5, W-7.0, S-7.0. This could not have been possible without the help of your channel and a few more.
Hey, can you tell which videos did you watch? I’m going to give mine soon so I want to prepare. Also did you go with pen and paper based test of the computer one?
Yes pls reply

Thanks for the great video. I have not taken computer-delivered test, so I cannot comment about real test. However, I noticed that on the test samples you are able to see the seconds by hovering your mouse pointer on the clock.

Wooow thank you so much for this useful information
Hii thank you for this amazing video.really it's make my mind to go through with computer base test .
Thank you very much for your informative tutorial video, before watching this video I was confused what to choose in my test. But, now for sure. I can go for computer based test.
May you please confirm if we can jump from listening section to another during the test ?
Very useful. Thanks for sharing. I just wanna ask, is there any submit button in each section? Or it will be automatically submitted when the time is over?
Thank you, I love your accent. =) Keep moving forward! Hugs!
Even though it will not be my first IELTS, it will be my first computer based one. Let me say that this is way better than the French TEF. There is a reason why people prefer to speak English rather than French and even though this is not on the top, the ease of use and consideration of how the platform works makes a big difference. In the TEF I was struggling with annoying drop down menus for the answers so I could not see them at all. Thank you for this video.
u know french? on tef is it basic french or advanced
Thank you very informative
I need to practice computer based test. I would be appreciate it if you give material for practicing test on computer
Very helpful video, Before taking computer based test
I appreciate your calm explanation. My IELTS is in two days, kindly send plan for the duration, thank you

thank you so much for this helpful video. I'm taking my test in the day after tomorrow and watching this really makes me feel more comfortable since now I know what I'm going to see. I hope I can get the band score I wish for which is an 8.
hey! May I ask something? Is there a need to save or submit our answers in the Computer-based Ielts test? or it will be saved automatically?
@@farhanillahi1771 it will be saved automatically as you go to the next section you just go to the next page

Thank you so much for easing my worries Asiya. My speaking test will be live video call as a result of covid-19. I have never had a video call conference before so this is another stress for me. 3 days left for my exam, wish me luck please, i couldn't study much with my 3 years old little monster :)
I hope that you've done amazing!
thanks for your video it was very informative. I have one question about the listening section though, will I need to switch between sections or is the listening dedicated to that specific section only? or I will need to look for the question in all sections?
Not sure whether it’s changed since you’ve done your IELTS. I did mine on the 24th of this month, and if you hover over the timer it shows how many seconds you have left.
Hi thank you! New subscriber here 👋 this is what i’m looking for. I’m about to take the exam soon in a computer-delivered format and i’m wondering how it would look like. I’m afraid i might have a hard time there as i’m not familiar with the setup. So thank u so much for sharing this 💗 i hope i’ll be able to ace it 🙏🏼
How did it go
@@fayiqnazir2879got my target band scores 😉 just follow their tips and strategies, you’ll be fine! best of luck!
Thank you, mam...following your footsteps is sufficient ....May I know whether a mechanical keyboard is used for computer-based...where there would be more space in between the keys .....If that is the case, will it be better to practice it beforehand rather than studying on a laptop whose letters are closely built?
thank you , it helps
Thank you for so much
Thank you so much :D
Thanks a lot 🙏
Thanks for sharing this! oo
Hi, thank you so much for the video, I wonder can i bring my own headphones and my own keyboard ? Or everything will be provided by Ielts tester themselves?
realllly helpfulll
I support your channel Ms asiya
You can check the seconds in timer if you hover you mouse on the time.

Thank you so much
For the writing task, do we have to start the words with uppercase or it does not matter?
I prepared for just 2 days watching your videos and ielts british council app and gave the test. I got 7.5 overall band.
8 reading
8 listening
6.5 writing
6.5 speaking
Btw, english is not my first language.
Great🎉
Hi! Can I ask how you manage to get 8 in both reading and listening? I'm finding that those parts are hard for me!
@@rere9162 download their ielts app . Solve free practice tests . And analyse where you are making mistakes.
In reading
Before, I was missing articles and not managing my time properly.
Tips
1) 17 min for section 1
20 min for section 2
23 min for section 3
2)always read question first remember keyword and look for answers.
3) after reading a particular passage always write a single word for it some where on your rough paper.
4) if you get stuck on one question, please move on. Don't spend too much time on one question.
5)skim and scan
For listening
After solving practice tests you will get confidence.
1)just solve more map questions for listening as it is more challenging.
2) learn about time (like 10 past 15 i.e 3:10 pm) and directions
3) if you miss one question don't panic. Be focused.
I watch netflix series a lot so maybe my listening skill was better.
For writing, people rarely above 7
So, i ignored this part. I just made sure i use simple and different words.
My section 2 essay was not good at all. It was too bad 😂. But still i got 6.5 .
Please focus more on reading, listening as they are more scoring
You did amazing . I'm in hurry, I have to pass the IELTS exam in just 3 days.
Is this the platform over all exam centres ? Great tutorial btw❤️
Yes... Same for all
Thank you so much Asiya! I have a question, what about Ctrl-Z? Does it work in IELTS Writing? (It is already great that Ctrl-x and Ctrl-V work).
Does anyone know whether Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y works for undo and redo?
Yes control+z works speaking from personal experience
