At today’s flea market, I found a stash of children’s books and some vintage buttons along with some other miscellaneous items! Come along and see what I found!
Love the books, especially the Tasha Tudor. The readers with the two-toned illustrations are sparking ideas. A Child's Garden of Verses brought back memories. My Mom collected that book in various editions and illustrators. Started with the Eloise Wilkins Little Golden. Also liked the bird cards.
The Eloise Wilkin Garden of Verses book was my favorite as a child! I have a few versions now, including that one, and one illustrated by Gyo Fujikawa. I'll probably keep one of these in my collection, and use the other one for a journal.
Love your flea market finds videos. My favorite are the vintge adult coloring books, Tasha Tudor, Robert Louis Stevenson poems, 1928 Better Homes and Gardens,and backyard bird playing cards. I will keep an eye out in the event you list any of those. Great treasures you found.
Lots of fun staff Diane! I like those old magazines like the Better Homes and Gardens one. Also cooking items are great, we don't have old cooking books around. I went last weekend to a flea market and made some nice finds. Should I make a haul video?
Latest in my MIL house sort. Box of books of trading stamps, some very old coloring books, a Music Hour grade 4, some very old, falling apart, hardback songbooks, a box of documents about great grandpa (of the owner) trying to buy land in Colorado, (think it was a scam of sorts but the various letterheads are beautiful). Assorted decks of playing cards, some of the small cookbook pamphlets, a 1950 era Better Homes and Gardens plaid cookbook which my sister in law is claiming. Assorted vintage heavy cardstock file dividers, both letter and numbers. And on it goes.
I love the books and the magazines! I'm still working on the theft of my wallet but the police do have a suspect...a career criminal who got out of jail two days before she robbed me. She's going back to jail after the case is settled. I have an appt. tomorrow to get my new driver's license that was stolen. I'm still working on this with all the strength I can muster thanks to the Lord!
I've been eyeing the Holly Hobbie book online for a while, but was afraid it was too large to use the illustrations in our journals. Did you find that to be true?
I have made several Holly Hobbie books, and I probably used the large book by taking out the pages and folding them into my signatures. Maybe cut out some of the smaller images. I'll have to go back and rewatch those old videos! czcams.com/video/Z0ZBdnGIQm4/video.html

I just made a journal of of Fun with Dick and Jane because that's the one I used as a child of the 60s.😊

You don't need to go to flea markets or spend any money!!! Sounds like great stuff right in your MIL's house!
