During the Oilers 2006 playoff run the crowd was so loud that they actually drowned out the sound of the horn. They had to add a second horn set so it would be loud enough to hear. That’s why the horn today is so much louder and more powerful.

@@griffintyner5047 you get used to it. It’s not nearly as obvious as Montreal’s. It sounds like a car wreck
yep, when they switched to rogers place, they continued to use 1 set but they ran into the same problem (due to new arena acoustics and higher arena capacity) so they added the 2nd set permanently. even today, the 2nd set is often drowned out and it was very evident during the playoffs.

edit: NOT TO MENTION, they were down 3-0 in the first round to San jose. that was one hell of a run by the kings and their epic 3 game 7 wins were way more worthy of winning the cup then the rangers. no offense.
