Carey’s kit is the best sounding kit I’ve ever heard, granted he brings those drums to life with his mastercraft skills, his snare sound, and floor tom utilization’s are so fucking dope, so clean and deep, he plays so with laser guided like accuracy and technicality and compromises nothing in terms of soul and feel inside of that; the rarest juxtaposition, the juxtaposition that turns amazing musicians into living legends, or simply the best. Carey does to the drums what Hendrix did to the guitar. The hardest thing about being a drummer is to play without the science of how difficult keeping timing is in your body language and face, he accomplishes that with flawless perfection. Drum god.

I got to see the solo Halloween 2015 and met 3/4 of the band the night before. It was fucking awesome to see it live. They also played No Quarter, The Grudge, hooooly shit is their light/video show crazy. The band looks invisible on stage by comparison, it's cool.

Come close to what? In terms of sheer complexity and technique there are a lot of better drummers. Still Carey has that special fluidity and almost spiritual vibe to his drumming style that is unique to him.

Danny has a "unique" style which makes him extremely recognisable, a true artist who uses the tools he got in a different way than most of his craft do. At this level of playing we shouldn't compare in first place, but appreciate to be able to witness.
I think maynard stopped being the frontman in the band and started hanging out in the back so he can have a better view of danny playing 😂
