  • One of the coolest variations to kickboxing competitions. Instead of a ring or cage setting, they put sandbangs in a ring format. There are no elbows, but knees and limited clinch is allowed. And on top of that, there is only wraps and no gloves. Let's see how a Karateka does in this.

@@crisalcantara7671 not that🤦‍♂️. Im talking about their stances and how they throw their round kicks. Karate guys mostly roundkick with zero telegraph and just right off the bat while Muay Thai guys mostly have some sort of wind up in their rounds kicks. Not saying all Muay Thai guys do that but almost no Karate guy is taught to wind their roundkicks up like that. For their stances, tall narrow stances are common in Muay Thai while Karatekas’ stances tend to be a bit wider.

According to keyboard experts like ‪@lps8966‬, Kyokushin is just kickboxing in gi. Yet there is a video called "The Original Kyokushin Karate" and it shows its whole blueprint also features: throws, open hand throws, joint locks, elbows and headbutt. Kickboxing doesn't have those.

Kárateka! 🥋. It's definitley not Shotokan or Kyukushin. We can rule out any of the 3 Funakoshi off shoots, we can rule out Kenpo too. I think he might just be a traditional Kickboxer (Karate + Boxing) that would explain his stance and movement patterns. I see some Karate strikes but it doesn't have that stone (rigid) element to it.
Also, Sandbags ... A lot more hardcore, aesthetic, and better than a cage, or ropes. Circles are a lot better than octagons too. I hope your friend here gets massive success and keeps this style to fight the status quo! 👊🏽

Its not traditional karate thats for sure . .it may be seidokaikan or shidokan ( they train head punches ) but based on the footwork and jump like movements i am guessing its japanese kickboxing. The muay thai guy is also not a typical muay thai guy ( typical muay thai guys dont jump around a lot and they are not that fast paced , they have basebal bat like kicks and punches which are slow but they put a lot of power in them ) . Based on the agressiveness and boxing movements I guess he is a dutch style kickboxer.
