With Chop Suey being one of my surprise-favorite videos, I had to put my spin on another song by System of a Down. Add some accordion and a kickass band, and there you go! Enjoy!
The Band:
Robyn Adele Anderson - Vocals
Jacob Fjeldheim - Piano
Josh Davis - Drums
Georgia Weber - Bass
Amadis Dunkel -Trombone
Wayne Tucker - Trumpet
Matt Dallow - Accordion

Yes, i love System Of A Jazz.
Dmitry M. Blumer Same, where’s the Album!
I honestly can’t wait for their concert in San Bernardino.
System Of A Jazz!! Awesome!!! 😁😁😁
😁😁😁
I love SOAJ xD
System Of A Pop
If Toxicity was a James Bond soundtrack
You got recommended this too huh lol
I totally agree!!!
it's way too classy for
omg yes!
You know it would open in an old timey black n white filter
the drummers trying so hard not to go all out
totally
dude loves his gin gin mules
One of the most epic songs for drums. He is probably crying on the inside.
I saw this comment and ended up focusing on him. He looks like he could break out and play it up if they would have just let him!
omg I cant stop staring at the drummer! the comments here are just too funny! his inner drummer is crying out in desperation! he reminds me of the drummer on the Muppet's Animal?
I do not need promotional material to appreciate what you are doing as an artist and collaborator. I am already listening. Well done by the way. As a theater person working behind the scenes, I see the work you all put into this. Robyn, take it easy, this is brilliant. Breathe easy. Well done. Thank you production team.
It all works out. More will be appreciated.

This sounds like a James Bond's movie theme. Imagine this song and a sick J. Bond intro...
Damn thats a good idea!
James Bond - Between sacred silence and sleep
Piano guy it's enjoying this like if someone ever told him: You can't play System of a Down on the piano!
Just enjoyed it how amazing he plays it
Yup. He's awesome. Musically it's an amazing piece of music with many layers.
He´s Heavy Mental ehhh ye what ever :D
Awesome as always. And I have to say between you (Robyn) and PMJ I can FINALLY understand the lyrics on a lot of these songs that always seem heavily distorted over the radio. Keep up the great work, love the spin you put on all these songs.
I love how you bring modern songs to an older era we don’t hear anymore
not thaaat modern though
she stole it from a gig she did for post modern jukebox. she isn't original
@@TheBlogtroll I don't know what you mean (just discovered this stuff) but it sounds like you said she stole something from herself? Care to elaborate on that? Genuinely curious about your comment.
SOAD and modern. Lol

SOAD is one of my favorite bands! and this was a BEAUTIFUL cover of it. Your voice is fantastic and I have to give huge compliments to the pianist for conveying the chaotic energy perfectly for this song. All in all an amazing version, definitely adding it to my playlist!
I always come back and listen to this because it is so beautiful. You portray so much emotion on this and the arrangement is spot on. I just love this version of the song so much. Thank you for this. 🖤🖤
This is so weird and so good, like you can hear toxicity in the song but also it's not actually toxicity and it's so good
I have been raised with System of a Down, but regardless of musical preference, appreciation for such arrangement, making such drastic changes but maintaining the intensity of the song... incredible
That pitch, when hitting the "I" in "silence," is sonically aesthetic 👌
Anyone else wanna see her do an actual cover of one of these artists? Like, a metal song in the metal style? I'd love to hear it.
yes, most definetly!. she's fantastic but i feel like doing it jazz destroys the craziness of the song.
I can't stop getting goosebumps. Great live performance.
I love the mood and tempo to this one! I feel like I should be leaning on the bar of a jazz club and drowning my sorrows in a glass of scotch.
Amazing, as always!
Spot on
You spelled bourbon wrong... J/K, as long is it’s whisky I respect it...
does sitting at my desk drowning my sorrows with a bottle of vodka count?
@@EverettVinzantlove whisky I'll say no more😂
Wow! This is really amazing. The sound, the lyrics, the setting of the video ... this is absolutely perfect!
Besides the overall genius of this version the background scenery is just epic!
This voice simply defies any description ...... so unique. Love it!
I am extremely impressed. I have heard around thirty covers of this song. I love it when a band/musician is bold enough to put their own spin on a song. Great work.
In a word: cool. In several: this is a beautiful cover, adapting the song for a new genre while preserving its haunting power. I wouldn't have expected the song to work so well at this cadence, but you done did it!
So as much as I like the cover, I feel like it needs to be said that just adding an accordion does not make it a "pirate anthem."
Yes! Needs a more Anthemic chorus and to bring more raw energy. Most pirates are not pretty vocalist but are singing with tagged abandon about their baldy ventures and of lifes cruel ambiguity. lol
If anything, one could attribute it more closely to Polka...
Good tune regardless. Bravo!
Definitely. Would've loved to see a 60's Noir style in this one
Which I could barely hear most of the time.
Lol fair
I've never heard soad sound so... calm. I'm genuinely impressed!
Can you do ariels as your next system of a down cover?
Edgar Madking I'm really hoping hypnotize will be up soon.
Edgar Madking AGREED
UP!!!!!!!

Up!!!!!
Omg her voice is just Amazing
Fun fact the accordion player is actually in the FBI's witness protection program.
Really?
@@NitroCorn No not really lol.
Bonaroo 2011 primus- American life, he's quite clearly a Les Claypool lookalike.
Not any longer... thanks to you BIG MOUTH... he got whacked!
@@AlamShamma Oopsie poopsie!
i love the attitude of this woman
You made this song seem a lot darker some how. Very great
even without the crazy drums of the original it has so much power and impact
hmm ... where ?
Cyberneticwarmachine agree but drums needed a bit more presence
no
Agreed! It still has it's power...
emm not really
Really captures the sorrow in this version...so heart compelling.
This is a combination of some of my absolutely favourite things. The song, the theme, the way they are all dressed. This is delightful!
I don't feel the pirate vibe from this cover, but a nice cover nonetheless.
I guess to some the presence of an accordion means 'pirate'.
@@dave29123 If she did it in french though........
This really shows just how great this song is
I'm falling in love with this version.
Beautiful!
Toxicity is the first song I've ever downloaded as a kid well it's the first ever coz it's the first song I loved in my entire life, this is so amazing it captures what I fell in love with🥰 thank a everyone involved in the creation of this for making it exist
You guys go so hard on those SOAD chorus verses! Not just this one.
People use to call their lyrics nonsense, but you give them a solid meaning.
Great interpretation, Robyn lovely as always. This cover shows how great this song is !!
I like how you made the song very jazzy. I have a friend who’s been complaining about how people don’t really cover System of a Down’s songs right and how the originals are always miles better and I see where she’s coming from - it’s a completely different style to the original. It’s really an acquired taste: she’s been listening to hard rock and metal for so long that when you adapt the song so much, she doesn’t think you’re doing it justice because Jazz really isn’t her style, whilst I really like and can appreciate both.
What an amazing band and the lead singer is soooo good!!!!
Recently found these, love the rock songs done jazz. Amazing arrangements. Ever considered doing System of a Down “spiders”?
That would be awesome
We gonna ignore Bob Ross on the trumpet?

LMFAO!!!! Im dead af from this comment xD
Absolutely amazing. Who could dislike this video.
i love youtube. keep finding covers I never knew I was into. Last week it was medieval covers, this week 20s and jazz covers.
It's really perfectly! Tell me the truth: it's magic?! I think yes, because your voice makes amazing things.
Pirate: "Arg, these tunes be like a calm storm but what in the seven seas be a truck?"
Respect to the dude on the keyboard!
aka Jacob
Pianist is Killin it. Mad props
I'm not sure I'm in love with the arrangement, but It's great that people are doing covers like this ✌
Agree, It is sucking too much of the dirt and grit out the song. Robyn voice is sweet and a mid alto. The arrangement is works against and not with the lead singstress. A little more creativity needed on the keyboard and the low end base line needs more stuccato snd comes in at the wrong times, also distracting from the rawness of the lyrical melody. Also, I say with admiration of her professional vocal ability, Robyn Adele is giving a too perfect of a vocal performance, that takes the needed tension for a heavy metal bop like Toxicity. If the pead would just let her voice shred off pitch a tad more, it would take this version to another level. I'm a music nerd so this is just my two cents. It was still an enjoyable performance though.
Yea, not loving this at all. Don't get me wrong, she has a fantastic voice. However this just does not convey this song properly.
Yeah , its really not their best!
@@OmegaGamingNetwork How so? The song is about the sustainability of modern living IMO. I think the tone fits perfectly.
Pretty nicely done I think, but yeah it obviously isn't going to have the gritty tone of the original... just wish she hadn't changed up the melody so much in some parts, her singing was amazing though
Was dying for this since your last system cover
I wish had this instrumental version... So good. Vocal are lign here
Wonderful music, thank you for sharing it with us
Amazing! You really did a fancy song from a heavy song, I didn't believe it was possible 👏🏼 congratulations! I loved it

Never thought I'd like a System of a Down song
Nailed the tempo and syncopation. Same as the musical mastery. Thank you.

All I can say is wow, what an amazing job! When I saw this in my list my first thought was “what a joke”... but I was interested. Now I’m thinking that this actually works almost as good as the original. I am definitely subscribing just to keep seeing how good these songs sound. Keep them coming
I now understand the old tales of the Sirens. A heartbreak voice. Awesome job.
Why am I still jamming like this is the original? Smashing the kitchen counter with the drum beat that isn't there, screaming the lyrics... No matter what version of this song I here, I freakin bang it out... YEET
Amazing take on one of my favorite bands! Please do more!!
Lo mejor que he visto❤️
WHY do I LOVE this so much?!?
This cover was so good, I could not convince myself to click away. Well done! Truly talented group of musicians.
I can see this as the live music in some kind of club (retro style) in a cyberpunk world
Fantastic! Could make a playlist of just this and your version of Chop Suey on loop.
Thank you!
Beautiful Version👏🙌Great Singer
I am now a fan of these jazz cover songs
For some reason I picture this playing in the trailer for a Deus Ex movie as we pan slow-mo through the anarchy of its world.
Great work.
Just the thought of that already gave me chills.
I felt a more fallout vibe honestly
Funny, I just picked up deus ex, human revolution for 13$
With the Grey and Gold color scheme. Adam Jensen using his Shooty McStabby augments in the "When i became the sun" segment
Matheus Arruda dude, are there rumors of a deus ex movie coming out? Don't tease me man. I love deus ex.
I loved the tempo of this one :)
Thanks!!
y'all are simply awesome!
she really masters her vocal chords
I came for a pirate anthem and got New Orleans instead, but I'm not complaining.
This is amazing! Will it be posted on Spotify?

this is absolutely awesome.
Looking fine (as usual!) and sounding delightful!
Thank the lord for underground music.
I came from the factory failed, I am able to fall in love with a song just by listening to it once. It is a spectacularly beautiful version. I love them
Very impressive, but what can you make out of "Before I forget" by Slipknot? ;)
i fking love soad
and your covers are awesome !
keep it up ! :p
Props to all of you. Shout out to the pianist shredding those keys 😁😁
Wow, just brilliant!
Looking on all your System of a Down cover, this is the best one in my eyes. The other ones always sound kinda incomplete without harmonic second voices. This one is well working this way.
All covers you do are always awesome anyway! But as I said, best SOAD cover in my opinion :)
As a system of down fan i do like this
Amazing job, especially Jacob!
Thanks Robyn, very cool!
