Great win by RSL on the road. After only 1 win in their previous 8, they needed this

Well, next season they really should be making the playoffs. You do remember that sounders have very young and amateur players, Especially in defense & midfield. We have also been in poor form because of recent signings, not because the signings are bad, but the new players haven't really coped with the team yet. We will get there one day!
@@zeeksfreaks602 Sorry, but "Young and amateur players" don't win CCL. Even with JP out, it should have been easy to make the MLS playoffs.

Still plenty of time for them to make it. We'll see though, it looks like they've been stretched thin this season. With CCl play early in the season and a few injuries as well. Didn't Ruidiaz just come back off injury as well?
@@zeeksfreaks602 as a Sounders fanatic fan right here, I would say it is indeed very realistic how the team still needs to cope, but that is not the general solution. You were, however, right when mentioned midfield and defense. Right now, we do not have Joao Paulo nor Obed Vargas, nor Raul Ruidiaz in attack. I remembered seeing when Obed Vargas got the big game of his life and short career against Pumas, and he gave away a poor pass, nearly conceding a goal for Pumas which infuriated Stefan Frei. The point is, we are a little short on the midfield, and as far as games go, the midfield is the connecting piece that holds the team together. But i hope we can win!

Sounders have struggled to finish for the past few years. When you get 30 chances a game, it’s not such a big deal. But when you only get 5 or 6 you need to make them count!

Its great to see in America football is getting so competitive and popular over the years. Only one thing they should improve is the defenece of each team, that will create better players and intense games on coming days. 👏👏

Especially for the World cup & International games. If Football intensity & gameplay increases in America, then there is a higher chance that we will be doing better not just in the MLS, but in the whole world.
And become boring like European football? I'm European and other than my team I cant watch a game from beginning to end. It's boring and defensive. Coaches make players start construction from their gk and center backs, then the midfielders are afraid to lose the ball and to take risk and always pass behind. One thing is man city or bayern having possession and starting construction from defense, other is having mid table teams trying to do that but without the same quality.

The way they couldn't finish out of many opportunities is indicative of a weaker sounder team than the past. Ruiz Diaz cannot always be the lone player with killer instinct. My gut feeling is that they won't even make the playoffs.
The defense of the Sounders looks trash, and the salt lake looks pretty great!
i think the reason that the defence was really bad today was because alot of the time alex roldon and nouhou would push up instead of staying back so there would only be two defenders in the back

ANYWAYS, The Coach for Seattle is trying to have many players go inside the box, because he does know the Sounders have trouble scoring & finishing, especially from close areas. So, he puts them up so there is a higher possibility of scoring, but it does not seem like it is working very well. And when he does put them up, the wings of the field are completely exposed & open to other players. So, it's not really a win-lose. It's more of a lose-lose, but eventually, and hopefully, it can become either a win-lose or a win-win if we somehow deal with the counter attack

I feel like the sounders need to take shots OUTSIDE the box. That way, they will score instead of trying to drill the ball inside the box with 5 defenders and hope one of their players will finish it.

It’s a shame that the year an MLS team finally wins CCL, that team starts sucking. It’s looking more and more likely that this may be the year the Seattle Sounders break their playoff streak. We’re sending them off to the CWC to face the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid and unless some miracle of god happens, Seattle’s getting trounced. With how the 2022 season is going, I’d much rather MLS send LAFC or Philly in Seattle’s place, but that’s not possible unfortunately.
I think the problem is either the youngsters, the new signings, the technique they try to use to score, or how far up the Fullbacks push up. They really need to fix those last 2.
The last 10-15 minutes were really intense. Amazing performance all around the shop except maybe Ruiz and Chang. Let's go RSL!
I'm a Sounders fan but that last bit of play the Sounders really should have scored there! RSL had a great game but the Sounders had not defended themselves in glory during the 2nd goal for RSL. Great game! Hopefully the Sounders can finally get in good form and win a game, because it has been a long wait!

This is testament to how big a toll playing CCL until the final takes. In the past, MLS teams that made the CCL final didn't qualify for the playoffs, not only because during the first part of the year they face MLS with a substitute team and lose lots of points, but also because once the starting team is back they are both physically and emotionally drained from all the travel to Mexico or Costa Rica and playing decisive games so early in the season. And winning CCL might not make a difference in regards to this.
The team is becoming difficult to watch as the lapses in concentration have cost them dearly. They showed real attacking chances but only in the last 15 minutes. It almost seems as if they say they want and need to win but believe they will be unable to do so.
Always exciting to watch Sounders games!
Seattle has no defense, they look more lost than ever.
They really should change up their formation. They have way too many players trying to score goals up front. The coach doesn't realize that he is completely exposing the whole rest of the field.

Everybody is expecting Seattle to 'flip the switch' and go on a winning streak into the playoffs and the MLS Cup final....except all the other MLS teams know this and are ready to beat them. The Sounders won't be sneaking up on anyone anymore. Oh yeah, winning CCL has a lot to do with this too. Enjoy your CCL trophy, Seattle, cuz you won't be hoisting the MLS Cup this year.

You do have to realize that Seattle has been in poor form because of their new signings. They have not really got to know the other players that well. Also, Seattle have about 5-6 players who are younger than 20 playing on the field. Do most other MLS teams have that? No. So you should reconsider that Seattle COULD EVENTUALLY flip the switch and start winning either at the end of this year or next year. They still have many youngsters and amateur players, so you cannot put blame on them. They are 16, 17, 18, and 19 year old's! 3 of the ages could technically be in high school.

@@sophiae3018 One day the Sounders will not just win in the CCL, but in the MLS, & US Open cup. Also, Sounders do have a great reason on why the have been in poor form. It's because like I said, their new signings & their young players. Next year, they will win many more games, as long as they stay focused & win against a lot of MLS teams.
