    If you like this video you can buy me a coffee. I really appreciate the support!
    I have had the Bullet Mustang a few weeks now and have found it a very playable & awesome sounding guitar! A good setup will have this guitar become your new Favourite and despite what the internet says it does not need modifying or pickups changing.
    However despite all that I always end up messing with my guitars and changing things up and the squier is at such a great price point you don't mind spending a bit extra to change things up a bit.
    In this video I talk you through my mods and why I am doing them.
    Please like and subscribe it helps feed my ego.

    The pearloid pickguard looks so much nicer, even that mod alone makes a big difference. Good work, sir.

    Man… as someone who also likes to fuss over the finer aesthetic details of his guitars I have to say that this looks fantastic. I especially love your choice of saddles, love it.

    I'm planning on adding hot rails to mine to give the more vintage look of the slanted pickups. I'm also going to route the area where the switches go, add switches and then wire them as a coil split option. I'm pretty excited. Love working on guitars.

    After 2 years I’ve not been able to intonate my mustang. My tuners are still a bit wonky but work fine. I actually like the feel of the neck (with some very mild sanding) but each to their own.

    Thanks for this video!! Great job!!
    I'm thinking for a long time now to get one to! Thinking about the standard bullet mustang in Black but always thought maybe changing the tuners into locking tuners maybe??
    But like you described already the internet always talks bad about the mustang why ever...
    I think this is a awesome and good looking guitar and also the price is unbeatable!
    Another reason for me is getting one because I have small fingers..

      I can't talk for everyone else's experiences but I thought the tuners held tune fine. So for tuning stability I wouldn't bother changing them to be honest. The black ones are even cheaper than this special run so offer amazing value for money. They even sell sub 100 if you find one second hand. Thanks for checking out the video and the kind words. Soon as the neck is cured I will be doing the part 2 verdict on the mods. So look out for that!

    i have a bullet mustang and i was thinking of doing the same thing about getting rid of the tone pot and putting volume pot in for the bridge. i tho i it would look really clean with no pickup selector. also the old school bridge saddles look really sick on that

    I really want a P90 Mustang. I may have to buy a Bullet and install P90s myself because Fender P90 Mustangs are out of my budget and I haven't seen a Squier one.

    I would say this guitar does need upgrades if you aren’t a beginner. Even as a beginner there are some loose ends on this otherwise great guitar. The bridge/saddles are of paramount importance because they are fecal butter.
    It’s a GREAT value for the price, but still as a longtime player I can’t tolerate the rattling saddles, crappy bright bridge pickup (neck is actually nice for me), and the cheap feeling tuning machines. Tuning stability is questionable on mine. I bought steel vintage type knobs for the volume and tone straight away. I’m about to start addressing the rest.
    My frets are actually nice. I like the satin neck although it feels a bit like raw wood. I won’t be putting any doodoo on mine most likely unless it’s an issue that will create problems? I dunno.
    My pickguard, aside from being ugly by default, has fugly black marks on it. I’m going pearloid as well. I have surf green!!

    Did you find that the barrel saddles made the action a bit high? I’ve heard of modders opting to shim the neck or shave the saddles down.

    • @DestroyingAmpsGearDemos
      @DestroyingAmpsGearDemos  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, I didn't find the saddles made any difference to action. The action is pretty decent imo. Cheers!

    "Sustain" is the 2nd-most needlessly overused term in the electric guitar world. The stock bridge does not need to be replaced. And you sacrificed intonation when you went with three saddles instead of six (which have worked just fine on the Strat for 70 years). As for it being a Duosonic, no. Obviously the Duosonic is not a proper offset body like the Mustang is. This is a Mustang. And Fender makes lots of Mustangs that are non-traditional. So what?

  • @onkelpool
    @onkelpool Před 3 lety +1

    So what's better when you use a set of 25.5"compensated saddles on a 24" guitar? Probably only the guitarist's self-esteem, not the intonation of the instrument!
