Non-locals can proudly sell openly day in and day out in our own land under our very nose and everyone buys from those shops without complaint but if one poor local guy gets caught with 2- 3 cases of alcohol it is made a headline. Sometimes I doubt if global window is an agent of alcohol syndicates.

If they are not selling inside the colony, I think it's not a big issue. Also hopeful that all that colony youths are non drinkers. Just because the road ply through our colony doesn't give us right to interfere in other business unless it's affecting our colony. Yes I don't drink, but feeling pity for those small business. Where big shots are selling openly in large quantities. But this is Nagaland, we catch only petty thieves and call ourselves heroes but gives a blind eye to big criminals. NBCC please lift NLTP Act. Nagaland is poor and needs a source of revenue.

By doing that actions we are encouraging to do that again to recover the capital because the easiest way to recover that capital is by doing the same things again unless they are given some opportunities.

    Good coverage GW...!
It's always good to say NO to alchol, drugs, etc... etc...
But here my specificity of personal urge is regarding an ALCHOL..
We need to think carefully and be judicious...
To be pragmatic; it's of no use interfering into the lives of people who are into micro/small liquor busines!!
Why not!? Protest and question the big fishes (syndicates), the government on useless NLTP Act and the stand of Churches on the act!
The Act is very clear yet the people are still confused why?
Law Act/4/89 dated 24. . 4.1990. The preface noted that the Act “Totally prohibit possession, sale, consumption and manufacture of liquor in and import and export thereof in the State of Nagaland.”
    .
    .
What is an Act that is implemented but cannot be followed at all!?
..... maybe the answer lies within the walls of luxury rooms with an AC, Legislative Assembly or maybe in a place where everyone bows with sincerity...
Until and unless these three houses comes to a common ground... Nothing sort of good outcome will Naga people see...!
    God Bless!

Not targeting any individual groups, but are you sure there are no youths from any colony who don't drink? If so, great work, but if not, it would be hypocritical to do so. Drinkers and non-drinkers know that the selling of alcohol will never stop in any place in the world, and if they really want to change it, why not go after the big fish who are controlling the market? Why not go to retro bars and clubs? Why not go to roadside shops which secretly sell alcohol? Every local knows the shops of non-locals selling alcohol, and vice versa. The people in the comments section are all speaking the truth here!
The only best solution, as we all know, is to lift the NLTP act so that people can moderately drink as well as get good alcohol, rather than adulterated ones at triple the price!

Poor people selling in small quantity are caught like this, I'm not against these action but we must first go to big store, everybody knows it, like near lottery counter and near bata charali, they sell openly but why no action.

Looking at both side of the story I too think that there is so much to be change rather then act. Kudos to GW for enlightening the Truth by going to the core of the story of the dark history of Nagaland Dry state. 👍

Non- locals are openly dealings in crores but no one raise a question against them bcoz they handsomely feeds Police,Excise,Different underground factions & so on. Whereas ,Hapless Nagas Who are doing so to feed their families are always the Target of the Colonies Youth,Councils & different Organisations .If they are really looking for publicity Why don't they directly set ablaze a Wholesale Godown from Where those petty Naga Businessman Bought & Sale the same to its customer's on retail basis.Don't try to fool yourselves just by Extracting One Jug of water from the Ocean and said the Ocean is Empty. Foolish act & Visionless leaders ,If the so called Leaders really have the Guts ,Why don't you question the Govt. Of the day for this infamous NLTP Act.

Just because they pass by their colony road they apprehended them.
The road may pass through their colony, but the road belong to the public. If they're not bothering the colony or selling in their colony then it should not matter.
And i hope those colony people apprehending them are all non drinkers.

😂🤣I feel funny in regard to this. Please let the wine shops be opened. It’s of no use supporting the NLTP act. It’s an act of foolishness. The more you ban alcohol the more rise in the drug paddlers and consumers. Forget about alcohol but there has been a drastic increase in the consumption of drugs. Kindly stop this foolishness

My question to Nagaland government and NBCC can you stop the inflow of alcohol to Nagaland if its so go ahead and dont even let single drop of alcohol enter Nagaland if you cant do that then better lift the NLTP act. And to Nagaland Police and excise department stop taking bride and go and catch the big fish in dimapur and kohima run by non local.

Hi brothers don't do like this it will not bring any changes to Nagaland. NLTP Act 1989 makes the liquor more expensive, more spurious and adulterated in nature. It's a curse Act!!!
