    Couldn't have timed this better. You guys have have saved me a lot of time. Please spare a few minutes for my complicated question but before that;
    Amazing job done by the presenter explaining all the confusing things in layman term's. Was a Subscriber earlier but I tried subscribing again 😇✌
    After countless hours of sleepless nights and hours of research with a tight budget, I wanted to have the best setup which suited my needs. Clear Full Range Music(EQ control) with Accurate BASS. Have bought a 840watt's Blaupunkt 4 channel GTA 470 Digital Sound Processor Amplifier , JBL CSX-1400BP 12" Subwoofer, PAC PDLC 21 Active 2 channel LOC, Surge F8 Flo True 8AWG 800W AMP wiring kit which is on its way. I'm hooking the the 2 channels of the Amp to the front speakers and the 2 bridged channels to the Sub.
    Since I'm having a DSP Amplifier with various settings such as X-over control, Subsonic control, Phase control, Delay control etc. Does the front speaker signals give full range output i.e If I tap into the front speaker signals with the LOC, will I be able to achieve a full range surround sound system in my car with DSP control function working properly?
    Was thinking about a 4 channel LOC but thought it would be useless since I'm using only 2 front channels of the amplifier for speaker and remaining 2 for a Sub. I can use the PAC PDLC21 with a low output gain settings since it can pump out 10V unlike a passive LOC and Adjust the gain in the Amplifier to adjust the Fader setting to achieve surround sound from a 2 channel LOC.
    My stock HU is a 4 speaker outs with a stock 6 speaker(2 tweeters+4 mid speakers) setup. I'm planning to change my Stock front speakers too, Any suggestions for the type (and brand) of front speakers which will suit my setup?

    • @Qualitymobilevideo
      @Qualitymobilevideo  Před 7 lety +2

      Being that this a factory 4 channel with tweeter, it's likely that you have full range output on all four speakers, we never truly know without testing it. If I were to wager, I think your setup will be fine as described.

  • @DidntSeeThatOne
    @DidntSeeThatOne Před 4 lety +6

    Best LOC video I've found, extremely informative. Only one question remains for me: Is there a limit to the length of wire ran on either side of the LOC? Should the speaker level side be short and very close to the head unit, or should the low level side be short with the LOC closer to the amplifier? Is there a medium, or is it not important? I see how yours are setup and I'll mirror that for now. Thank you very much.

    As a Formally Trained Audio Engineer and a guy who cut his teeth doing car stereos I thought that was actually a pretty good breakdown for folks that don't have an electronics background or a lot of inclination to get deep on how all this audio stuff works. I employed one of these adapters in a Bar where the Owner asked if I could run the output of his Jukebox (which only had a Left and Right External Speaker Output) into the speakers He had in the ceiling (or more correctly to the amp that powered those speakers) and it worked beautifully - also it's great because it mirrors the volume of its source relatively speaking. Not sure why this got so many thumbs down - I thought it was fairly spot on. Also for the record this doesn't replace the speakers in the circuit - it sits in parallel with the speakers (a "tap" so to speak) which keep the Ohm load correct to the amp - You'll have much more success than trying to completely use this device by itself without those speakers. - MM in Denver CO

    1 - Do I have to use the Power Yellow and the Remote Blue cable if my Amp already has it ? Meaning all I will need to connect is the Speaker wire.
    2 - I have the PAC LP7-4 L.O.C. PRO Series 4-Channel device, I'm only going to tap in the rear speakers, so I will use 2 channel on the PAC, can I just twist the other two channels together ? Meaning I will use the White and Gray for the 2 channels, can I just twist the Green to the White and the Purple to the Gray for all 4 channels and then go all 4 channels to my amp RCA ?
    3 - The the Gain on the PAC will only have the adjustment on one side which is the Right and Left Rear Or Front ? or would I need to adjust both Gains to the same ?

      Download some test tones, use an RMS voltmeter in AC mode and set the factory radio at half volume. You should have consistent voltage ratings across the spectrum of test tones if not you can test to see what frequencies the output is trimming.

    I will say, which he stated as well that the factory deck does make a difference in outputs signals to different speakers so go for whats best. I have a 2017 wrx and have had nothing but trouble so far with my system. First I bought the PAC LP7-2 and honestly sounded like crap. My sub didn't sound nowhere near what it sounded like I'm my truck with aftermarket deck and everything. So I purchased a Skorpion LOC which did help a lot more but still wasn't "clean" bass. Used the Skorpion LOC before in a different car and worked amazing But not for my wrx. Next step would be the audio control LC2i active LOC. Main reason for this long comment, any amp takes about 5 volts input signal to the amp. The PAC LP7-2 only puts out about 1.6 volts. Audio control LC2i puts out almost 7 volts! Little more than needed and for 40 bucks more the than PAC, you do the math. May be the reason why you might have sound quality issues as well. You pay for what you get. In some applications its perfect but others, no. Worked on car audio for 7 years now and learned to much crap on my own. Even the hard way. Hope this helps👍

      If you're not getting a clean signal, then you're not getting a great crossover or the source signal doesn't possess the range needed for the output speaker.
      Crossovers designate which frequencies go to which speakers, and are usually necessary to give an aftermarket system a truly "clean" sound. It will only allow the target speaker(s) to produce the specified frequencies.
      Again, it also matters where the source frequencies are coming from.

    I've been trying a reverse to this without much success, converting pre-out RCA from my head unit to line-level to feed the factory amplifier, it's good enough for me. Originally with the high-line output to the amp it was too loud, as you'd expect but now with the pre-out it's too quiet at full volume. Not sure how I can find a middle ground. The amplifier in the head unit should be good enough as it's a new high-end Alpine unit so I'm tempted to rip out the factory amp and install passive crossovers instead for my 12 speakers. Still considering my options.

    Can you use this if you got a aftermarket radio? I was thinking about buying a SC6 line output signal converter. But I only wanted to use it for having the max input voltage for my sub amp and my 4 channel. I could just plug rca in from aftermarket radio and rca out to the amps?

    So as long as you’ve already got a rem wire going to accessory, you don’t need to use the rem wire on the converter?
    And so long as you got clear sound, you don’t need to use the brown ground wire?

    If my aftermarket radio has a front rca output and a rear/SW output, would it be a good idea to use Y rca cables to split the signal so I can connect both the sub amp and the front and rear amp? Or should I convert the high level outputs to Low level RCA and use that as my outputs

    Do you only need to use 1 speaker when tapping in to them? Or do you need to use 2 speakers? I have mine set up running off of my right front door speaker. But it’s seems that I am only getting single, or power, or very week response out of one of my subwoofers. Thanks in advance for any help!

    a little confused with the wattage. first time i would be using a LOC. if i have a 750 watt amp and 800watt sub and the amp is still pulling directly from the battery so power wise its good does it matter if the LOC is only 400watts? my guess is no since the amp would still amplify and send 750 to the sub. would LC2i be enough?

    Hey guys thanks for all that information! I still have a question tho... I’m about to install a Kenwood 6 channel amp on my 2017 Honda Accord that has the 4 speaker only factory system, so far so good right... 4 channels from factory HU to the amp then out to 4 speakers... my question is, what channel from the factory stereo/hu should feed the subwoofer since all 4 are taken??
    Do I split the signal from the LOC’s RCA output so I can feed the subs input rca on the amp? What do you recommend I should do?
    If I get a six channel LOC I face the same problem only at the inverse.
    What type of solution do you recommend? Your help is greatly appreciate it!!! :)

      @@Qualitymobilevideo so.. i just can figure it out on my new modification to my installation.. it worked previously.
      My system look like this.
      1, 4 channel amp (Rockforf Fosgate P400-4)
      1, 1 channel amp (Rockford Fosgate P1000x1Bd)
      1, 4 channel LOC (NVX XPLOC4)
      1, Rockford Fosgate RFI2SW RCA adapter
      My last known "good" installation was hooked up like this.
      High level signal coming from factory IAM going in to LOC.
      From LOC front channels output to front channel input on 4ch amp.
      From LOC rear channels output to 1ch input
      From 1ch amp pass through output to rear channels input on 4ch amp.
      12v and ground to LOC
      remote from LOC to 1ch amp and 4ch amp.
      Have been working good.
      Now i decided to try something new.
      My 1ch amp has highlevel signal capable RCA inputs and can be used by connecting high level speaker wires from IAM to a RCA-adapter cable. Then i can ditch the 12v, ground and remote from LOC and instead use 1ch amps remote out built in and active when amp signal sensing.
      I have followed the instructions for LOC, 1ch amp and the adapter cable.
      I just cant get it to work. Im so annoyed and frustrated.
      I have some pictures how ive done it. Its like a worm nest looking but..
      Also measured with DMM ground on ground on the RCA plugs and chassi ground, measured on amp 12v and ground, measured on positive pin on rca plug and ground on rca shield. Measured on speaker wires signal from IAM
      Amp are not turning on, no signal, no lights.. nothing.
      What have i done wrong? what am i missing? how do i diagnose further?
      How can i upload and show pictures? or can i send them in private somehow?

    • @Grayback1973

      Roxshot Use a test tone disc and DMM.Test 40hz...400hz.....1000hz......4000 hz at the same volume level.If the voltage output is basically the same for each frequency then you've got a full range signal.If say 40hz has a much higher voltage reading than 400hz than that signal has a low pass filter on it....etc

I took a monoblock amp and a Kicker L7 out of my Tundra that absolutely pumped I use the same line output converter that you have in the video with the remote turn on I kicked the gain all the way up on the line out converter and the amp and it barely puts any sound out I don't know what to do???🤯 I also disconnected the noise cancelling system behind the glove box but it's like the Accord does not put much bass sound through the rear speakers so I don't have a good enough signal I have no clue what to do I'm about to rip it all back out of the car
