I was at an Anthrax / Megadeath / Slayer concert. Outdoor arena amusement park. Beer on sale. State Troopers on rooftops with rifles. Got patted down by police 4 times walking from parking lot into the park. Fenced in seating area with lawn seats outside. Most of the seats up front were empty as they were Anthrax fans busy getting beer. Slayer was up first and by the second song the fence came down and the seats were swarmed. Those with tickets up front that weren't in their seats were screwed and never got their seats back for the rest of the show. VIP pass or not. Slayer actually stopped between songs and asked the fans not to impale themselves on the fence. Beyond the fence was a cloud of dust and hair and feet in a massive mosh pit. My ears rang for 3 days straight. What a blast of a show! The park stopped having metal concerts after this event.

Watching people get their first taste of Slayer, especially on this song or Angel of Death, is so satisfying because it's usually the same "What the hell? The best way I could describe Slayer is that they're History teachers. History is often dark, bloody, and painful. Their music covers many perspectives such as a victim, witness, critic, or perpetrator.
From the holocaust, Christian hypocrocy, murder, or revenge no subject is too dark for them to talk about, and their sound matches the content.

    This song requires some context.
The song refers to an angel being sent to hell from heaven and is built on vengeance to return and battle, quote; "He want's to fuck that place up". This was the album closer for Reign In Blood, of which is a play on words with the song title, hence why the ending was so long compared to the full song. It's actually the second part of a two-song medley that begins with Postmortem and bleeds into Raining Blood (No pun intended).
Slayer were known for their short songs in the early days. The longest song on Reign In Blood is Angel Of Death at 4:50. They explained it saying that they played the same amount of music and transitions from verse to chorus as any other band, but they just do it faster.
