    Haha his smile makes me happy. Also the warning about inhalation of alcohol vapors. I inhale ethanol all the time.

    How is this adiabatic? I didn’t know plastic bottles prevent heat transfer in and out of the system?

    • @xmtutor
      @xmtutor Před 4 lety +40

      We are referring to the instant when the bottle popped. In that split second, the amount of heat transfer is negligible. That's why the temperature of the gas in the bottle plunged. If the gas was allowed to expand slowly instead of suddenly, then of course the process would not be described as adiabatic.

      xmtutor thank you for replying! I understand.

    I misread the warning...I thought it said "Inhaling alcohol fumes causes diarrhea." 😂

    Can you please explain why the Work done is Zero

    • @xmphysics
      @xmphysics Před 9 měsíci +2

      Huh? Work done is not zero. The gas did work to expand against the atmosphere. That's why it cooled down.

      @@xmphysicsbut we were told that during free expansion the Work done is Zero

      @@fictiongaming7254 Oh I see. Yes, if the gas is expanding into vacuum, then it does not have to push anything out of its way. It just fills up the space. But in this video, the gas has to push against the air outside the bottle in order to expand.

      @@user-zx6st7ti8m I can accept @RamPanta3491's brown ass Indian venom teeth, but I have a hard time accepting the attitude.
      PS. I'm Indian myself so guess I can say self-racist things.
