Gareth Southgate likes to act a politician in England, so he should be the treated the same with Qatar. Just like his players. I think it’s disgraceful that we have become so ethnocentric where we force our beliefs and our way of life on other countries because we don’t agree with it. Qatar has made it clear that everyone is allowed to come but in public just respect the laws that have been around before and after the World Cup.
In regards to the hosting of the World Cup I ask you what country’s hands are clean enough or has a moral hierarchy in your opinion. America the next country to host it has many anti abortion laws, neo and white supermacist groups, thousands of illegal immigrants dying for cheap labor and the mass school shootings. Europe has been strongly islamphobic, mistreating immigrants of different races, and conducted many colonial invasions and sufferings. Africa as a continent rejects lgbtq largely as a whole and during the 2010 World Cup many Africans did not benefit and the homeless were kicked out, China commits horrfying crimes against the Muslims there, major contributor to pollution, the Hong Kong and Taiwan take over and the child sweat shop labor and the massive underpaying workers. Russia I mean just look at Ukrainian right now. Brazil had many laborers die in the making of their World Cup but not one person spoke of it either.
So please get off your high horse and stop lecturing the world. If you want to watch the game go and if you don’t agree with the laws don’t go but do not give me that crap about moral and ethical behavior.
