  • Jurgen Klopp reacts to Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham United and offered some clarity on the argument he had with Mohamed Salah before he was brought on.
    Klopp
    0:00- Intro
    0:20- No issue with Mo. it’s all sorted. We spoke already, it’s done
    0:40- Not the highest intensity. We need les to get the legs doing again. Super dominant but again we concede anyway. Still a super good game from us.
    2:00- 4 games in 10 days, we had to change the team. The boys who came on done really well.
    2:58- This does not improved our situation (title race). I’m not angry, we just need to win football games. 84 is possible and it’s a good target.
    4:40- I respect David so much. He’s doing an incredible job. He’s a great guy.

      Yeah sadly it's United not Atalanta. This started because of the FA Cup. Was always gonna be the way after Klopp announced it. The first setback and the team suddenly realises this isn't some great celebration. This is the greatest manager in the last 40 years of the club's history suddenly deciding he's gonna leave 2 seasons early and then announcing it when we're doing better than expected in a transitional year.

    Tbf Salah has every right to be furious with Klopp. A couple of years ago Salah's contract was up, he could have gone basically anywhere he wanted in world football. Klopp's contract was due to expire in 2024 and so he signed a new contract to convince everyone (new signings and players already at the club) that the club had a solid plan moving forwards and that Klopp was still gonna be here a while. Mo then signs a new contract and we have an awful season where we scrape qualification for europa league, then the following season we are doing great and Klopp is talking a big game about Liverpool 2.0, we're top of the league and then Klopp announces he's done.
    This leaves a transitional team in a position where it either achieves what is pretty unprecedented success or the season is a failure.
    Klopp had two good options, leave at the end of last season which was a total failure, or stay until the end of the contract. Waiting until a good moment when everything is going well midseason of a transition year was not one of the options. It's a shame. I think he'll regret this, because we're going to really struggle. And the best available manager is the f-ing Feyenoord boss. We're going from the man who took over a cash-strapped Dortmund and toppled the mighty Bayern Munich + reached a Champions League final to someone who has built a good attacking side in the Eredivisie.

    When Salah went off last season he ripped his plasters or whatever he had on his hand off, chucking them on the floor as he walked off. He has been obviously fantastic for Liverpool, but they have for him also. If you have something to say, you say it after the game, not like that. What I can't understand is when they had a few injuries they turned to a few of the younger lads, they did well, he's not played them of late. With Jota fit we may have gone all the way , without him and the drop off in form of the strikers, they are done. They never really got to grips with playing without Firmino , they tried playing the same way without that type of selfless central player. Nunez isn't that player at all, can't understand why they thought it would would work with him there. They had a few games when Salah was away and they all clicked, then jota was injured and that was that.

    When Sir Alex Ferguson decided to retire from management, he didn't tell his players until the day they won the Premier League 2013.
    Jurgen Klopp went public and that has two negative impacts on his squad.
    1. He put more pressure on his players to win as many cups as possible.
    2. He dared the opposition players to test his resolves. This is my last season, so dare to take these cups off me and my players and unfortunately, the teams (Man Utd FA Cup, Atalanta Europa League, and Man Utd, Crystal Palace and Everton Premier League) dared and succeeded.
    Truly, people can't ruin what they don't know. He reached an agreement with Liverpool that he can't continue next season, why didn't he tell them to keep the announcement private until the end of the season?
    I think he might be regretting over that announcement.

    • @finleyrosebud5791
      @finleyrosebud5791 Před 11 dny

      It would have leaked. There'd be rumours because there's no way to bring in a new manager without contacting people, holding negotiations. And before you say 'but United did it', yeah they did and they could do so because they were bringing in David Moyes who was always gonna bite their hand off and wasn't gonna be getting handed any other jobs in the meantime.
      Also I wouldn't look too hard at how United did things. As great as Fergie was, the way he left was all wrong. They basically let him handpick the next manager and they got their Fergie-lite in Moyes and haven't won a major trophy since.
      EDIT: I wrote that Moyes was gonna bite United's hand and forgot the word 'off'.

    • @finleyrosebud5791
      @finleyrosebud5791 Před 11 dny

      Also the other rationale behind announcing it is the coaching staff most of whom are leaving. It's alright for Klopp to wait until the end of the year because he's not needing to go on to something but these people need jobs and they can't start looking at the end of the season. That's not fair on them. And again, if they start looking early that leaks to the press.

      @disagiato9391 totally agreed! Liverpool were playing a lot better than City when they finished a point behind, and Arsenal playing better as well this season. City have failed to beat Arsenal or Liverpool over 4 games. Their only differential is the squad depth, something theyve built over the past 7 years, most of it when the transfer market was priced at half of what it is right now.
