I’ll be honest here. I think with me skill set I would be better off if I financed the creation of a shrink ray and zapped a real city block into miniature because Sorastro’s work is beyond the pale. I’m looking at card stock, then effortlessly boom the Maestro’s hand turns it into a city block.
Mel is an absolute legend of a human being. Great tutorial here, the building looks incredible!
Thanks Taylor! He sure is 😀
Oi. This is going to be my go to when/if I get around to really getting stuck into Walking Dead and Batman minis games. Fantastic.
Thanks a lot Joel! :)
Dude, you're a frigging master. This is amazing.
Thanks so much Sean! Really appreciate that 😀
I can't even explain how happy I was to see buildings I live near haha love it
Awesome! Thanks Jason :D
I don't plan to play the Marvel game, but would happily watch another Scenery video. Thanks Sorastro!!
Cheers Thomas 😁
Nice build. Mel's a good friend and I'm sure he will appreciate the shout out, we've all leart a lot from him, and you too matey.
Thanks Lee! Yes - I contacted Mel at the time (and sent him a tip by way of thanks for sharing his knowledge!) :)
@@Sorastro He's a good egg, I've let him know to check out your video. Keep it up matey, great content :]
The attention to detail is simply amazing. I'm speechless at the skill level on display here. Nicely done!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it. 😀
Thank you for this outstanding tutorial! This is a masterpiece that will make Mel very happy to see. I love it! Thank you for taking your time and sharing it with us.
Thanks so much my friend 😃
Agreed! :)
In stories they have a fairy godmother who grants their wishes or helps when needed. We have Sorastro....we win! So much about this video is amazing. If there is such a thing as too much awesome...well we have Greatness Overload and couldn't be happoer. Thank you for this video (and everything else you do for the community.)
Lol - thanks so much Rob! Truly appreciated 😄
If the World's End is a real pub, does that mean the Golden Mile is a real thing too? Edgar Wright's movies never cease to amaze!
Ha - well, the pub is real alright, but it's not the same one used in the movie :D
The Golden mile is in Blackpool uk. It's the stretch from north pier to south pier. Although it isnt exactly golden. 🤣 (I'm aware this was 10months ago. Just saw comment to do with my home town and just had to reply 🤭)
You have simply outdone yourself, friend. This is beautiful and awe inspiring! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words :)
Absolutely breathtaking! Beautiful terrain! Thank you for these top notch tutorials. Great work as always !
Hey man! Thanks so much - I'm really glad you liked it 😀
This is absolutely stunning. You have a real talent for this, but obviously have practiced and put in the work extensively as well!
Thanks a lot Austin! I sure did put a lot of hours in on this one 😁
You continually blow my mind with your skill and imagination. On a side note, you have great music.
Wow - thank you so much! I really appreciate that :)
Can't wait to see the models painted. Going to be a huge help for a newbie to miniatures like me!
this was hands down the best urban building tutorial I have ever seen.....congratulations on this most epic build
Thank you so much Stephen! That's very high praise indeed 😀
Holy cow! What you did there is absolutely amazing. Thanks for making this brilliant video about it.
Thanks a lot Christian! Really glad you liked it 😀
The amount of skill and effort in your videos is amazing. Keep up the great work
Thanks Michael! I'll keep doing my best :D
This is probably the best home built terrain i have seen. Only getting into wargaming about a month ago but I've been watching a lot of tutorials.
Thank you so much! It was quite an ambitious project to be honest, but a tonne of fun to work on! 😀
This is INSANE ! If a team of ten made I would still be blown away. My jaw hurts from dropping Sorastro. You will be getting a doctor bill sir.
Lol buddy! I’m glad you liked it 😆
Really enjoyed this video Sorastro. Great descriptions of everything you are doing and good that you give props to other CZcamsrs who helped you as well. Hope to see some more scenery related videos in among your future ones.
Thanks a lot! I don't make scenery videos that often in truth, but I always have a blast when I do! :)
Just seeing 2 Minutes of the Video and already absolutely in love with the video!!!!
Awesome! Thanks Michael :D
Fantastic! Such a detailed and easy to follow tutorial. One of your best!
Thanks so much Stephen! I'm really happy to hear that 😃
Didn't see this when it first came out - jeez, it looks spectacular!
Thanks mate! I'm glad you like what I did here :)
I can tell that a shit ton of research went into this. Well done my man. I love the Terrain Tutor too :) I've never made ANYTHING from his channel, but I've watched nearly all his videos - mostly because I just like to watch people make things haha. This is a fantastic resource - a lot of skills and tips distilled down into 1 video. Bravo sir.
Thanks a lot mate! I do find building terrain to be a wonderful creative outlet :)
Superb! Loved that you gave Mel some props, well done!
Thanks Henry! Credit where it's due; I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants. 😀
Absolutely mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing your expertise in such an enjoyable and helpful way...rare, precious and appreciated, my friend.
What a lovely comment; thanks so much Heather! :)
I’m using many techniques used here for my own modular urban boards. First of all thanks Sorastro for the tips on where to get stuff and the inspiration! I was having a hard time with warping of the foamcore. Either applying the wall structure paper or texturing with filler (my go to way of creating concrete) the boards would warp a lot, up to the point of no longer fitting. However, I found a solution I thought I would share here. After letting the “good” side dry (and usually warp) completely, just turn the board around and wet the entire surface with a brush. That’s it! So simple, but it will even straighten out dried boards covered with filler on one side. I was so happy this worked and had been searching for a solution for a LONG time, so I thought I would share. Again, thank you Sorastro for being an inspiration!!!
Thanks a lot Jordy! I appreciate the kind words and the useful tip! 😁
Awesome artwork on the Kraken. Worth the price of entry just for that. Some great ideas and creativity.
Thank you so much Sam! I really appreciate that :)
I have been looking for a good video on modern stuff like this for Walking Dead for awhile. Thanks a lot! Looks fantastic!
Thanks Jesse! I'm glad you like it :)
This is fantastic, legit one of the most impressive things ive ever seen. Youre great.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it 😀
Well, I just discovered your terrain crafting videos. I'm hooked.
Ha, thanks man! 😀
Superb! Big fan of Mel the Terrain Tutor and now you too sir! The use of magnets is a great touch as well.
Thanks a lot Michael, yeh!? 😁
Dear Sorastro, Absolute genius collaborating with Mel! Outstanding results! Looking forward to more tutorials like these with baited breath. Kind Regards Johnny
Thanks a lot Johnny! It wasn't actually a formal collaboration as such; I just wanted to acknowledge how helpful his videos have been (and save me from shooting the building of the boards!) :D
These are awesome. You have done Mel proud.
Thanks a lot Chuck! I do hope so :)
I thought the scenery looked pretty cool from the intro, but seeing the whole process and all the little details through out the video just blew me away. what a fantastic job!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind comment 😊
Fab vid as always Sorastro, was really cool to see Brighton represented too!
Thanks Luke! Love Brighton 😀
I am completely blown away. Wow!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
This has just blown me away with inspiration for my self-created zombie/urban downfall games :-D Utterly unbelievable how so easy you make things for people to follow. I love terrain making for my own needs as well as for others, and this has me yearning to get started on some street scenery, but right now I'm busy making a gaming table containing fields with crop circles for a scenario someone came up with at the club. Word of advice for fellow model makers - DON'T volunteer when someone comes up with a crazy idea to try LOL. I'm having so much fun trying to make static grass crop circles, much to the amusement of my club-mates, when I could be making amazing street scenery like this. Love your videos more every time I watch them, and each new one just adds to the magic and wonder of the whole hobby experience for me. Thank you so much for being so inspiring every time :-)
Ha - thanks so much Paul! As always, I really appreciate your kind feedback :)
Blown away! Fantastic work man I love it!!
Thank you very much! 😄
The only word I have is WOW! This is absolutely amazing. Well done!
Thanks so much! 😀
Measure twice, cut once, swear thrice seems to be my method of construction. I can never seems to cut a perpendicular cut.
This is a great looking layout, and the visuals and sound in the video are top notch too.
The World Atlas of Wine, and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz... nice.
Ha ha - thanks a lot Euan! :D
Fantastic job sir, such amazing detail.
Thank you very much! 😀
Thank you for this incredible tutorial ! Lots of great ideas !!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you found it useful 😃
Holy cow Sorastro! This is next level stuff!
Thanks a lot mate! I'm really pleased you liked it :)
I REALLY enjoyed this one. Would love to see more terrain vids :)
Thanks a lot! I'm not sure my little house can accommodate much more! 😀
Your work is so beautiful and wonderfully filmed
Thank you so much! A lot of this episode was shot without proper lighting which is never ideal, but I'm glad you liked it 😀
Awesome, you do not stop inspiring me to hobby. I love your sense of detail !
Thanks a lot Yann! I'm glad you liked it :)
Dude, this is insane. You are incredible.
Thanks buddy - I really appreciate that :)
Insanely awesome. True one of a kind art.
Thanks so much Michael! :)
Fantastic dedicated model making as always.
Thanks buddy! :D
Mark, this is unbelievable. I you effing rock.
Thanks for inspiring us all! Now I've decided to make 8 40x45cm tiles for my dinner table, to play SW Legion on! Love the ideas you shared here.
Great work, as usual.
Thanks a lot Bronka! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video; good luck with the Legion terrain! :)
Outstanding! And so many good ideas. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks so much Neil! 😀
Incredible man! Your work is awesome! Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks a lot Ruben! I really appreciate that :)
Excellent work. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😀
Brother, i swear you can read minds...i was just thinking of building some urban terrain for some walking dead games and here you go, you bring out this awsome video :). I've done many like these before but i love seeing different approaches to it. Love the video mate.
Thanks a lot mate! Really glad you enjoyed it 😀
Hey man, this is probably the best video and end result i've seen from you. Not that any of the other are poor at all. This was just something fresh and interesting! Loved it :)
Hey! Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. It was a real blast to work on 😄
My daughter introduced me to MCP, and your videos are a painting inspiration. Now I find that you are local to me with your World's end and Dice saloon inspiration. I hope to see you at Dice saloon at some point when my MCP team is ready to face the world, and I will shake your hand.
Thanks so much Alan! Ha, I pop to the Dice Saloon quite often (whenever I run out of paint!) 😁
Man, I don't play modern/urban games, but this might be the coolest thing you've ever made.
EXTREMELY well done!
Thanks a lot Jordan! I really appreciate that :)
Absolutely superb, looks amazing. Thanks for making and sharing this video.
Thanks a lot David! I'm pleased you liked it :)
@@Sorastro oh I like it very much. I just finished my first MCP board and was really chuffed with it...u till I watched this, haha!
This was simply awesome. Sooooo many things to learn and a great reference tool for building scenery. Your attention to detail is inspiring. REALLY appreciate the product listing and some of those sites were fantastic. But it can be an expensive business, buying all these little scenery extras. Many thanks and happy new year to you.
Hey Neil, thanks a lot! The cost sure can add up, but once the terrain in built, it's the gift that keeps on giving.. :)
That is an amazing bit of work...... Thanks for the video
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😀
Awesome! I have watched Mel before and really wanted to get into doing more scenery to take our D&D campaign to the next level, but now I really want to dig into some Urban Terrain! We just purchased a new RPG set in a future cyberpunk world. So, I will be breaking out the foam core and magnets to start crafting some buildings soon. Fantastic tutorial as always!
Oh great! Thanks so much buddy; I'm really glad it was useful to you 😀
Fantastic. Absolutely brilliant.
Thank you mate! :)
Beautiful stuff, very inspiring to do more scratch building terrain.
Thank you very much! 😀
Thanks for this video. I have a feeling I will be referencing it this time next year. 😃. I am really happy that you listed the source of the material. Just keep doing what you do.
Thanks my friend! :)
Absolutely superb. Always good to watch a master at work. It's taken me four years to find this but it's now on terrain saved list. So many good ideas for inspiration. Thank you )O( Subscribed
Thank you so much! It was a pretty epic project, but I still use the terrain to this day 😁
I’m late to this party but holy smokes this is amazing looking terrain.
Thanks a lot Michael! It was a lot of work, but very enjoyable to create 😀
Once again nothing short of amazing
Thanks a lot Rod! Really glad you liked it 😀
Incredibly inspiring!
Thank you Michael! 😀
Wow just wow. As a regular in Brighton this is just incredible.
Thanks a lot! I'm glad to hear that 😀
This is gorgeous! I had been following your progress on Instagram, but watching your process is even better. I’ll be trying to create something similar for the Batman miniature game
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
this is an awesome video and tutorial. Thank you...outstanding work!!
Thanks Stanley! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Fantastic work, sir.
Thanks Billy! 😀

Mark - seriously - you never cease to amaze me with your skill. Great job on both the Worlds End and our little FLGS ;)
Thanks so much (Kris!?) 😁
:D - yes, it's Kris
Its a very AWESOME new serie mate!!! Loved the magnets idea and hope to see some lights in there soon! ;) ...(AKA Monte)
Thanks Monte! I'd love to get some lights in at some point.. :)
Wow, that is just AWESOME!!! Well done man! I am a big fan of D&D and Descent and i am looking for some ideas or tutorials for terrain and maybe some walls with hidden doors in dungeons! Or if it is a forest terrain, some trees or big bushes for cosmetic purposes! Really awesome video! Big fan of your work since i saw Descent figures painting! Have done this my hobby and i have to say your videos made me better! Keep up man! Wonderful job!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Mel is a very good teacher, but you, Sir, are quite talented. I found this video by mistake, tho I must say I really enjoyed watching it!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Just saw this on twitter and thought “why on earth am I not subscribed to this fantastic channel already?!”
Ha - thanks Liam! :)
Your work is amazing!
That's very kind - thank you! 🙂
This was amazing!!!!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
This is BRILLIANT!
Thank you so much! :)
These videos are priceless.
Thanks so much :D
First couple shots I was sure this was from real life cities (the first shot I thought was Sorastro's building and I was "wow cool mural, he's got a very artsy building to live in" :) )! Great work mate!
Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you liked it :)
When I saw the thumb nail I would not have guessed you used foam core, I thought these were going to be plastic all the way. Super nice dude.
Thanks a lot! :)
I'm just in awe at this
Thank you so much! 🤗
@@Sorastro it looks like so much work went into this! Just the karaken alone is a feat in itself. I want to make a terminator board with ruined buildings and an elevated highway. That's the dream when I have a dedicated space to fit it in lol. Saving this video & the Show & Tell for hobby inspiration & materials list. Which is an excellent addition
You're right - building this really was a labour of love, but it's such a thrill to take out and game on 😀
Amazing! More like this pls!
Thanks Alberto! :)
Hammer geil!
Nice Job! Thank you
Thanks John! :)
Wow. Just Wow!!!! Please shoot a battle report of some description on this amazing place. Spectacular.
Thanks mate! I might just do that (one I've got the minis painted of course!) 😃
I just got started with Crisis Protocol. This board would be a joy to play on!
Thanks Mikey! I can confirm that it really is 😁
