I LOVED WCW/NWO Revenge back in the day… one of my all time faves for the N64
Yeah that's my fav n64 game. If you emulate it and use the rice emulator it's graphics get kicked up to almost what you see in this video. I also liked mayhem a lot although I played it more for ps1 than n64.

that was also my favorite wrestling game ever and i was more of a WWF fan during that time but WWF’s games sucked 😂. i wasn’t still playing the N64 when No Mercy came out i had already moved onto Dreamcast around that time so i never had the chance to get into No Mercy
It brought me and my brother years of joy and we still talk about it. We would beat all are friends in tag team matches
i would love to see the same amount of dedication put into a “New Generation” era roster complete with the early RAW arena/ring etc
It was recently revealed that Hulk Hogan was in fact one of 3 programmers of this game, but he didn't want to take official credit because he was so tied up in doing session bass work for metallica on their album Reload :)
Yeah, don't forget that he was also supposed to be in the first Super Smash Brothers game too. He changed his mind after he found out that Samus was a woman, saying that he would never allow his depictions to hit women.
Hogan also ended the streak in a Wrestlemania dark match
Hulk Hogan admitted to 'Snapping into a Slim Jim' before an unknown assailant took the spot.
Hogan is still sitting in a factory in China scratching his name off of every single Hulk Hogan’s grill so George Foreman’s name can be put on there before being sold.

The gorilla monsoon, Jesse, the body Ventura commentary is such a nice touch. It’s something that no mercy and revenge never had.
Yes I totally agree! I think that's one of the best commentary lineups ever too but it adds so much more to the experience to have that on tap in this game.

What’s funny is the N64 basically have the technology to add commentary, shit they had commentary in Sega genesis super Nintendo Wrestlemania arcade game
@@miamimagiciansIt's not really about the technology, but the limitation of space on a cartridge. Sound uses up a lot of space. With a mod that meant to be played on an emulator or flash memory that isn't as much of a problem.

The gameplay mechanics for N64 wrestling games were revolutionary. You had the option of doing a quick strike, slower heavy strike like a drop-kick, quick grapple, slower heavy grapple leading to a power-move, or the strike-counter or the grapple-counter. Going toe-to-toe was like a combat chess-match, instead of button-mashing like a lot of wrestling games. The slower, heavier moves had more payoff but could be beaten to the punch by the lighter moves. But those could be countered if you were pressing the correct counter button. Really ingenious gameplay. And super fun watching your favourite wrestlers execute hundreds of wrestling moves. This mod really does the 80's justice! The N64 wrestling engine is perfect.

I downloaded tbis a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! The Golden Era of wrestling seems to be the theme for this one and they did an amazing job with it. Theres so much attention to detail. Its like a love letter to wrestling fans of the 80s and early 90s.

The roster is cool and all, however, with no Austin, HHH, HBK, Rock, Steamboat, Hayes, Big Show, Booker, the Hardyz, Foley, Beefcake, Hall, Nash, Lesner, DDP, Flair, Dogg, Pak, Kane, Tazz, Saturn, Steiner Bros, Lashley, Albert, Road Warriors, Thrash, the Rhodes family, Finley, Funk, Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio Sr & Jr, Lex, Christian, Jericho, Edge, Andre, Reigns, Styles, R Truth, Goldberg, Cena, Sting, Owen, Malenko, Regal, Norton, Bagwell, Sumo Joe, Bigelow, Godfather, Venis, Azz, Kim Chee, Neidhart, Adams, D Inferno, Raven, Ultimo, Van Hammer, Yokozuna, Rikishi, M Rotunda, S Williams, that parrot dude, nor Glacier??? Without these, to me, it's NOT entirely Legends. To me, it's missing these greats.

One of the best labor of loves I’ve ever seen. I grew up on the golden era of wrestling and played endless hours of N64 wrestling games.. so this pulls at all my nostalgia heart strings!

This game is my childhood!!!! Being born in ‘86 I grew up with old school WWF & LOVED the old school WRESTLEFEST arcade game!!!! Not to mention WWF Wrestlemania 2000 for N64!! I gotta get this!
The N64 wrestling games were so good my friends and I would rent one every weekend and play 4 player matches staying up all night Friday and Saturday.
Tours, Revenge, WM 2000, and No Mercy, then Yes. Those games rocked.
No mercy was so good I rented it & kept it for a whole year 😅😅

They definitely need to add a patch to include all those wrestlers they forgot. I think they had only a handful of ‘90s characters like Razor Ramón, The Undertaker & Bam Bam Bigelow. I would include other early ‘90s wrestlers like Tatanka, 1-2-3 Kid, Jean-Pierre LaFitte, Waylon Mercy, Hakushi, Ludvig Borga, Giant González, Doink, Jerry Lawler, Isaac Yankem, Owen Hart, Mantaur, Savio Vega, Yokozuna, Aldo Montoya, Bob Holly, Sid Justice, Diesel, Henry O. Godwin, Bastion Booger, Phantasio, The Headshrinkers, The Smoking Gunns, The Heavenly Bodies, Skip & Sunny. I know a lot of these are weird choices and not as stacked as the ‘80s, but they would give it that early ’90s feel, before the Attitude Era.

It's pretty awesome! I didn't realize you could change versions of each wrestler too at the time of the video so that's not in there but you can choose between a bunch of looks for each guy.
That is one thing they've definitely crapped the bed with in newer wrestling games so that's awesome to know. You gotta buy the card packs to get different attires in the new games. It's butt @@RetroGamingGuy

THQ made the best wrestling games, why I got the AEW for PS5. Brought back a lot of late night memories with my friends playing for hours.

honestly i miss all the legends for wrestling games for ps2 wish they would make new ones for newer systems. i use to love them as a kid and those are what made me look into and watch some of the greats i didnt know to much about. that "bang your head" theme still plays in my head lol
YES! Nobody talks about the legends games but those were some of my favorites because that's the only chance we had back then to get wcw ecw and wwf guys in one game. Graphics weren't always as good as some others at the time but the roster was absolutely stacked and the soundtrack was up there with Tony Hawk's soundtrack.
exactly it was amazing the rosters were stacked and it gave us wrestling fans something else to play compared to the current wwe games at the time and we got to play with the legends that werent in those games. and i agree nothing will ever come close to the tony hawk soundtracks! remember those backyard wrestling games to? pretty sure icp was in them lmao@@RetroGamingGuy
I'd recommend WCW Saturday Night as it has arenas, wrestlers from the time, entrance music, etc. Most importantly, it runs on actual Nintendo 64 hardware may it be an Everdrive or reproduction cart. Also, the WWF Backlash in development also works on real hardware.

Loved These games when I was a kid. N64 such a great console. I really want to get a N64 and start a collection again but idk where I should buy one right now that’s legit.
It's a roll of the dice anywhere you go. Honestly just get one second hand from a decent seller with good reviews. If you go the premium route you're just going to end up paying 3 times more for the same condition in the end.

Ravishing Rick rude is one of my favorite wrestlers. His WCW early 90s run is so underrated! He and Ric had so many good matches.

Yeah. You find those kind of cracked versions of popular games all the times. People selling N64 Zelda or Mario games you've never heard of 6⁶before (cuz they aren't official and their storymodes only last as long as the programmers were going before they got bored, so the games tend to usually end a bit abruptly).
My favorite wrestling game is always been WCW/nWo Revenge but I want this one right here!!

Wish they had an all time mega wrestling game where you could play with all the wrestlers ever from WWF Golden Years, New Generation, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era, PG Era, and Modern day plus WCW and ECW. And you get to choose announcers, Gorilla, Jessie, JR, King, Vince, Cole. Prob never ever gunna happen, but would be amazing 😊

You missed that you can choose from dozens of attires for each guy and you passed over Howard finkel who if you go through attires there you’ll find job guys to choose from.

not having the Boston Garden is a missed oppurtunity. But that's a super nitpick when everything else is so great. Especially the commentary
I feel like Boston Garden was more of a house show venue back then but still a big one. Now they get ppvs more regularly at least. I've been to quite a few at TD 👍🏻

I really wish someone could figure out how to get these hacks working for something like an Everdrive. I just prefer playing No Mercy on actual hardware, so having rom files that could manage this would be amazing. If I wanted to play classic No Mercy, just put the cartridge in, want to play a hack? Pop the Everdrive in.

Everdrive can play hacks. I'm not sure if it can play this hack specifically but I used to have hacks on mine when I had it couple years back.
