Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

    1) For a 10 year old, these are the memories that will last forever. Best days evar!!!!
    2) As a 52 year old computer systems analyst, there is a part of me that wishes he was 10 years old again. Watching this video is just like I were riding with Zach, learning stuff... like a 10 year old.
    3) I recognized those mountains in the distance immediately when they show up in the video. I was stationed at Luke Air Force Base (which is north of Buckeye AZ) for 5 wonderful years. Best stateside assignment ever. I used to make a weekly trip to that exact same Sonic for the foot long chili dogs and onion rings. Would move back to the Valley of the Sun in a heartbeat if I knew I could land a decent job. I wonder if Bales Hay Farm has a use for a seasoned computer nerd / mechanic / radio repairer.
    4) That bale stacker is amazing. When I was a teenager, I was the bail stacker - no gas or oil, just feed me 3 squares and provide a place to sleep.
    5) Thank you for sharing your trips around to other farms. This kind of content is great for everyone to see and learn.
    Keep it between the rows.

Great video Zhac, I was impressed by Trevor's Irrigation system, it works the same as our Famous PA Yeoman's Key Line flood irrigation,he was a Mining Engineer he developed the Key Line system back in 1960 ,He used to flood irrigate in a similar way, about 15 acres would only take a hour to irrigate, that was a lot of water , for every acre 1 inch of rain equals about 27,154 gallons so I think it would take 4 inches over 15 acres to irrigate it in one hour. I could see his reasoning , Trevor was smart to see its the quickest way to irrigate a lot of paddock area in small areas and the cheapest. Thank you for such a good video Regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. We’re always worried it’s not dry enough before baling, wow adding moisture. Not something you’d see here in the mid-Atlantic as far as I know

@@rodger7029 yeah, we use an inoculant that allows us to bale at higher moisture. (Conklin, Feedstore) but I’ve never heard of adding moisture in our area (SW Va)

For 3 summers in the late 70's one of if not the fondest memory i have as a boy of the hardest work ever was bailing hay and manually stacking in the wagons. It was hot, crickets were chirpin, bales were heavy ......but some how that tall glass bottle of Coca-Cola with the condensation beads made it all worth while...well...that and the 25 bucks cash per day.
