    Lyrics:
You say I waste my life away
But I live it to the full
    How would you know anyway
    You're just mister dull
Why don't you get into the things we do today
You could lose twenty years right away
    So we say
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
Every day you scream at me
    To turn the music low
Well if you keep on screaming
You'll make me deaf you know.
You always chew me out, because I stay out late
Until your three-piece suit comes back in date
    Get one thing straight
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    There's no communication
    I'm tired of explanation
    Is this message getting through
You went through the same thing too
Don't you remember what it's like to lose control
Put on my jacket for you get too old
    Let's rock and roll
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    We don't need no
    No no no
    Parental guidance here
    Oh no
    One life
And I'm gonna live it up

The synchronized dancing and playing guitar from both guys is INSANE even for an "easier song". And then when Rob joins in with the two and ian is goin back there wow. Wish I had a time machine.

Yea, the cheese factor certainly began w/"British Steel", or even perhaps w/"Takin; on the World" on the previous release, but this goes far beyond the melodies, the lyrics, the attitude, the attire...it's all a total sell out to the times. So much so that they were lost on the next release, kinda clueless to who they were at the time, nice rebound w/"Painkiller!"

“ Our Dallas show saw a mishap. Ken’s guitar tech had restrung his guitar but forgotten to trim the string ends. I flung out my arms during one of my more exuberant onstage moves, and inadvertently smacked the neck of Ken’s guitar.
It got knocked upward, and one of the stray strings penetrated deep into Ken’s right eyeball. OUCH! Blood came pouring out and it looked grotesque. A real trouper, Ken finished the show, but he had to grab a pair of sunglasses -especially as Wayne Isham was there to film “parental guidance” for a live video later in the set.
The funny thing is that everyone who ever sees that video thinks that Ken was just being a total poseur! Thankfully, the injury did no lasting damage, but poor Ken was in absolute agony. As he told me many, many times.

    • @Kongorlobo
      @Kongorlobo Před 3 lety +2

@@ygsthth Absolutely, in fact their songs were always pretty diverse, even within a single album. The thing is Turbo was probably a bit too much: too commecial and poppy, too party-like, too glam metal-influenced (in both sound and lyrics, and even in the band's looks), too only-radiofriendly-songs oriented (as I said Priest was always a diverse band, where are the speedmetal songs or their trademark heavy and crunchy midtempos, why only pop anthems?) ... It seemed they wanted to ride the 80s pop metal wave so hard... This song they play in the video is actually a good example of what I say. The closest they had been to this point up to 1986 was Point of Entry, and that album was more "artistic", more mature and definetively less juvenile than Turbo. It was certainly influenced by American hard rock and it had songs that seemed Kiss rip-offs, but it still sounded like something Priest would do for the most part.

Damn! That girl in the front row, with blonde hair with a little portion of it dyed red, has always caught my attention since the first time I Watched this, when I was a child xD

Holy s***! Right on! I remember her. There's hot 80s chicks all over this. In red shirt/hoops at 2:42.
I had a fondness for the 'no no no' girl at 2:55.

I thought so too. But holy shit, the chicks growing up today are smokin hot. Maybe it's just because I live on the beach in California, but I don't get how there are so few unattractive girls in these schools out here. It's friggin nuts.
