The size of the Women's March is impressive. Even in Canada. From small town Nova Scotia to Vancouver BC, across the United States, and all across the world. Even in my hometown (Edmonton Alberta) there was a sizable march.

Trump's had one of the most productive first years of any president. Between, the travel ban, tax cuts, adjustments to Obamacare, and general impact on PC culture, I'd say he's won quite a bit. What did Obama do in his first year? I'm drawing a blank.

When Obama entered the White House, the potential for a second Great Depression was very real. The start of his falling poll numbers came from the state of the economy forcing the president to do things that were wildly unpopular, like bailing out the banks and auto industry, and advocating for and passing a nearly $800bn economic stimulus package.
A year later, the economy didn't collapse. According to president's Council of Economic Advisers, the stimulus has already saved or created two million jobs, meaning that, without action, unemployment would be closer to 11.2%.
The Troubled Asset Relief Programme (Tarp), however unpopular, succeeding in keeping the US financial system afloat. The frozen credit markets have thawed. The Dow-Jones share index gained over 30% on the year. And for all its unpopularity, the fast majority of the Tarp funds will be paid back by the banks that received them, and whatever shortfall is left will be compensated for by new fees on the largest banks. Taxpayers had to invest a shocking amount of money into the financial institutions to bail them out - but a year later, almost all that money has been or will be recovered. That is extraordinary.
There are other critical legislative achievements as well. At this point, it looks mostly inevitable that Obama will be first president since Lyndon Johnson to try reforming health care and actually succeed. Whatever your opinion on the scope of the legislation, it's indisputable that this achievement is as historical as the legislation itself.
He signed the equal pay act. He signed hate crimes legislation. He dramatically increased investments in renewable energy. He delivered on his promise to change the secrecy of Washington by making his White House the most transparent of any in history. He is ending the war in Iraq, and is sensibly and cautiously executing a plan in Afghanistan that enjoys bipartisan support. And he has dramatically improved America's image abroad.

Is it just me or does it seem like just about every other month our Government runs out of money?
No because I seem to recall it a couple years ago what a mess it was because when the Senate was controlled by Democrats they didn't pass a budget between 2009 until 2013 and now digging deeper apparently we don't really pass budgets or appropriations anymore but continuing resolutions...which is apparently like living from Credit Card to Credit Card maxing them all out and just hoping you can find a way to not pay for the last credit card or at least just enough so the bank doesn't take everything
Congress has been at times, going on for years without passing a budget. So they fill in stop gap appropriations bills. Also they have an artificial spending cap that they just won't adhere too.

To be fair, while I certainly do not like him, there seems to be aspects to him that people use as reasons why Trump = cool, such as the growing economy (which may have stopped due to this) and sinking unemployment... although I think those aspects were started by Obama and Trump somehow kept it going (until now, maybe).
Then again, this guy doesn't have many good aspects to him (at least, to me he doesn't), so it's likely they're taking every victory they can get. However, this is just how I see the whole situation.

Perhaps because of what he didn't do! like cancel social programs like school meals, aid to elderly, cancel law protecting seniors in nursing homes.

They justified it by saying, "well Trump isn't a politician so I think it's okay for him to say that." They can justify anything he says. They justify his hypocrisy by saying he isn't a politician. I had a similar thing happen to me, I provided the same quote to a Trump supporter, and he responded with:

Very good question. They could, and definitely should, put him on the spot every chance they get. The american press is pretty useless, Trump gets a harder grilling when he faces foreign press.
