    How to combine the response spectrum with gravitational loads? I have made some iterations placing the dynamic shear loads per floor manually to obtain a coherent stress diagram and not all positive or negative as the spectrum does.
    When comparing both scenarios (Dead+ RSX) / (Dead+EQx) (EQx lateral dynamic loads entered manually), I find that directly combining the spectrum with gravitational loads does not give similar and sometimes non-coherent values.

    What if I didn’t define any modal cases but in the load pattern, I specified and define the seismic lateral with all their parameters (codes, PGA, spectrum type, etc) for X direction and Y direction and choose automatic combinations. Won’t the program perform the seismic analysis???

      First find out base shear in both direction x and y then excitation angle = tan-1(Fy/Fx)

    Can etabs automatically do structural analysis and gives the quantity of materials?
