Enya's songs and music do not fit any genre. They defy genre. Her songs are either awesome or beyond awesome. I am glad to have been privileged to have been born during a time that I could listen to her songs. Anyone else hearing her songs really should show gratitude for that privilege.

There is nothing like a beautiful song and a room full of beautiful musicians.
Somehow I doubt that we will get such unique band anytime soon. There are some great artists now, but none of them are really unique and memorable like Enya.
She started singing with her family in the group Clannad. She left to go solo in 1982. She is Irelands biggest solo artist. If you listen to early Clannad songs you can pick out Enya's voice. I always fall asleep to her music playing on the Amazon echo at night as its so relaxing. Dark Sky Island deluxe is a great album.

I Agree, Matt! You Are Right On The Dot When You The Word "Dark Sky". I Have Heard Every Single One Of Her Albums And This One Is Really Amazing! Her Voice Puts Me To Sleep At Night And It Makes Me Sing In The Morning.
The only musician I've liked for over 30 years. It's consistent, but I never get tired of it. She always makes me feel comfortable and leads me to fantasy.

Enya was one of my Dads favourites! I did enjoy it as a child too, but not as much as I do now. Been 8 years since my Dad went to his Eternal home.

Fun fact the way she gets her sound is vocal layering. Some of her songs have up to one hundred layers of her own voice producing the amazing reverb choral sound. Its just pure Gold. 🙌

She doesn't really sing live. Hasn't toured ever. Which is sad. She sang May It Be at the Oscars and a couple of talk shows but that's it. It would be super hard to replicate live. But she said in an interview not too long ago that there may be the possibility of a tour but that it's very difficult to replicate the quality of her songs without it seeming like she's "singing to a backing track". I'd still pay to see her live. It would be amazing.

Usually I listen to melodic death metal, thrash metal, metalcore, hardcore punk and the like, but I can't stop listening to Enya and her music. She manages to make her music sound both relaxing and majestic at the same time.
This song in particular makes me fantasize about myself riding my cruiser motorcycle into the sunset, through the whole night and into the dawn of a new day...
In another way it makes me think of my shift work and in particular the night shift when "everything flows" flawlessly through the night into the new day and the "alleluia" when the shift is over in the morning and I can go home.
I get fantasy that I sit in a starship, been far away and finally finds home again.

Enya is such a wonderful force for healing. Ever since I was a small child, my mother would play Enya's albums when she needed to heal, either emotionally or physically, sometimes both. This began with my earliest memories when there was only The Celts, Watermark and Shepherd Moons available, then later with The Memory of Trees, Paint the Sky with Stars and A Day Without Rain. Now on into the 21st century, Enya is still a force for healing. Not just for my mother, but for me as well. Thank you, Enya! :)
I agree, Enya's music saved me from depression and still helps me a lot. When I was 15 I almost commited suicide with a gun and decided not to because I knew someday I would be loved. I turned to Enya's music and learned to love nature and it saved me.
