OPEN DAY KOKSIJDE AIR BASE | 2 Westland WS-61 Sea Kings (BE & DE) and NH90 NFH Belgium in action!

Information:
During the open day of the air base in Koksijde, several SAR helicopters gave demonstrations for a large audience. There were 2 Westland WS-61 Sea King Helicopters and an NH90 NFH Helicopter. The gray and orange helicopter (Westland WS-61 Sea King) comes from Germany and has a special livery, namely the '50 Jahre Bundeswehr Sea King'. The aircraft entered service in 1973 for the German Navy/SAR. The other orange with camouflage colored helicopter (Westland WS-61 Sea King) comes from Belgium, this aircraft has also served for years to complete many rescue operations. Since 2019, this beautiful aircraft no longer flies actions and is therefore no longer operational for notifications/calls. After the Sea King, the NH90 NFH entered service to take over the many rescue operations of/for the Sea King's. This (the gray helicopter) has been operational from the Koksijde Air Base since 2019. The NH90 NFH will continue its services for some time and monitor the Belgian and surrounding coastal areas.

Zeker weten, hou zeker ons kanaal in de gaten. We zijn zeer recent bij een SAR inzet geweest waarbij kustwachtheli is ingezet. En ook op deze opendag was er een gave demo van kustwacht NL met heli en vliegtuig. Binnenkort online, beide video's!
