If you are looking for a low mileage 1968 Ford Galaxie 500XL with a big block, look no further! This beautiful survivor car has the original candy apple red paint job that it rolled off the production line with 50 years ago. With less than 2,500 miles on the completely rebuilt 428 cubic inch big block there is more than enough power under the hood to move this XL down the road. Shifting gears is handled by the Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission that was also rebuilt at the same time as the engine. This three owner car has no problem with traction thanks to the locking differential that houses the 3.25 gears. You can view this 1968 Ford Galaxie 500XL in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.

Cool car. My grandfather had a ’69 XL Sportsroof, Bright Blue Metallic with white vinyl top and interior with buckets and console with "U-bar" shifter. I always loved that car, especially the wrap-around "Flight-Cockpit Instrument Panel."
FYI this car is not a Galaxie. It is an XL. It was a separate model 1968-1970. The calling cards of the XL were bucket seats and console, but in later years the bench became standard and the XL's signature bucket seats with console became an option.

I believe the 68 Ford XL only came with a 390 but since this one has a 428 it must have been an XL GT and they took the GT badging off of it. Also did you notice one of the brake lights was out? Says a lot about what these people pay attention to

They may be original equipment, but the skinny wheels and hubcaps were meant to be discarded and replaced with wheels and tires that can handle a big fast motorcar.

No such thing as a Galaxy 500 XL)
It's either a Galaxy 500,LTD, XL or an XLGT those are your only choices. This one is actually an XLGT That was the only one that came with a 428

Suggestion, lose the music. Nice car but I would rather go to another website where they talk about the car and put you in the passenger seat along for a test ride to see how it handles and sounds, as if you were at the dealership. This one I had to fast forward or keep it on mute which I can get just as much from a picture.

I bought one exactly like this one in 1969 .Sadly about 6 months later I was hit head on and the car was totaled.

What kind of car hit you? It must have been a tank like a Cadillac or a Lincoln

I had a’68 lime green XL 390 with black roof as a senior in HS 1971. Too much car, too much gas and too many payments. Good looking car though.
