There surely being orders against it, and the pilot surely knowing that his cell phone could/would be tracked...is it not possible that the pilot did that on purpose rather than have to go to what will be (likely sooner than later) certain death?
No, more likely the pilot was stupid. Most people don't realize video/pictures from phones have metadata, which give the precise location, time, type of phone, and usually the phone number of the phone. The meta data is burned right on the photo, but you don't see it unless you know what you're looking for.
Unless you use a burner phone, strip the meta data from the picture (and you have to do it outside of your phone) and use a safe place to store it (like Telegram), you're giving the store away to an enemy. It's how the Ukrainian SBU tracks down people who violate the no photos of rocket strikes. It's sheer stupidity for soldiers to carry phones, the enemy can and will track you.

Russians should not engage in any trade with USA. It will only lead to financial dependence on them and also lead to recovery of US dollar.
@@krishna-e-bera Russian trade has nothing to do with the US Dollar, as the Russian market is insignificant to the US economy. In fact, the US Dollar doing bad is against Russian intrests as the Chinese market is dependent on US trade.
The stability of the Chinese Yuan is important to Russia. As the Russian Ruble lacks reserve currency status. So external trade is often dependent on foreign reserve currencies such as the Chinese Yuan.

The Ukrainians never claimed they sunk the Rostov na Donu, only stuck it in its dry dock. Which despite this channel initially denying it turn out to be true.
If the Rostov na Donu was actually irrepairably damaged this time I wouldn't be surprised. Considering Russia was already incompetent enough to retrofit it within cruise missle range the first time.
