What about depth. I plum the depth on lakes, but rivers are new to me. How do I work out depth on a flowing river for trotting?

Any chance of showing us how to stick float on a river that isnt like a Mill Pond?

We would pretty much do exactly the same thing Andrew, perhaps use a more buoyant float though, as you can control it easier in more turbulent water.
