Held in the LA Memorial Sports Arena (though originally scheduled to take place in the LA Memorial Sports Coliseum), fans showed up to WrestleMania VII on March 24th 1991 to see Real American Hulk Hogan do battle with turncoat Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter turned his back on his country, he sided with the enemy before claiming the WWF Championship at the 1991 Royal Rumble, so Rumble winner Hulk Hogan is coming to WrestleMania 7 promising to take the Championship Belt away from the Sarge.
WrestleMania 7 also features an epic Macho Man Randy Savage vs Ultimate Warrior match where the loser must retire for good. The gripping bout is capped off with one of WrestleMania's most memorable post-match moments when Randy Savage reunites with Miss Elizabeth.
Other superstars and teams competing at Mania 7 include The Hart Foundation, British Bulldog, The Rockers, Tito Santana, Ted Dibiase, The Nasty Boys, The Legion of Doom and many more.

Willie Nelson has looked 80 years old for 40 years now.
Completely natural for a 139 year-old like ol-Willie.
He finally just turned 91 a couple of weeks ago, but he's looked 91 since 1991
Weed age you then preserve you I guess?
Alice Cooper syndrome.
@Visionary_Watcher a "watcher" maybe for sure
I miss being a young dumb kid watching wrestling lol
It's the only thing my 83 year old uncle watches.
You still have a chance,
later on tho.
I was a little kid and saw the war on CNN so my friends and I thought that General dude was Sudam Husiens buddy in real life. Lmao
100 percent
Come back, it's still fun!

"Mr. Perfect oversells it but it's fine because it's Mr. Perfect."
That was perfect.
"The phenom stares at his opponent like he just murdered his girfrield or something" 😂😂
Hey that will make a good story line later on
I thought I was the only one that caught that. I almost choked....
That is not bloody funny.
That's the stare of you offered me corn flakes and I only eat frosted flakes their more than good thera great 😂
this kind of referencing that makes this channel awesome. same with the Rockers and snorting lines
Macho retired at 7, wins the strap at 8....what a man!

I taped this off Sky and the next day at high school, borrowed one of the TVs on wheels at lunchtime. I charged my classmates a quid to come and watch it in a classroom, enterprising! 😂
Serious business!

I have sentimental feelings for the Savage vs Warrior match. Everyone there, even on commentary, is no longer with us. They all had a good time. Hebner is still here. RIP all of these greats. 😊

Just seeing kid Macaulay Culkin just made a shiver run down my spine at how old we all are.
I know it’s crazy how long ago it was Macaulay Culkin was very popular back in the 90s I would say he was probably most popular child star at the time considering how hugely popular the home alone movies were.
Michael Jackson was just his dear friend!
Him being a mark for Brian Knobbs isn’t surprising at all
@@kurtbrowning9765I’ve met the Nasty Boys. Sags was nothing but pleasant and friendly… knobbs?..Sags was nothing but pleasant and friendly to our stupid mark questions.
Worked a couple Indy shows with both Nasty Boys back in the day and bumped into them at a few conventions. Jerry is always a sweet guy, Brian is a sweet guy as long as he hasn't been over-served. "Nasty Knobbs" definitely takes over when he's had a few, but otherwise he's a nice guy.
11:14 "like he just murdered his gf" 😂
10 yrs later DDP stalks Takers wife!!
God, that theme is absolutely immense.
It was my favorite WM theme. Was so bummed when they changed it. It went HARD!
We need classic themes to make a comeback. Or just rehire Jim Johnston
@@NickelCitySaintwm 6, 7, 8 had this best sound theme! And summerslam 90, 91 had its own best one. RR 91, 92 the best. Survivor Series 89, 90 the best. Survivor Ser 91 had the same awesome theme as 89, 90 but was cut off short on the ppv start! Hated that. RR 93 had same great them as 91, 92 but got cut off stupid lol. ...
@@Harmonyempresshe was awesome in wwe ....all those ppv themes AND wrestlers unique theme. What was that wwf or wcw Slam Jam music thing from 1992??!! Their themes?
“The lord of war puts the dog of bull…” lmao
If warlord got fat in let's pretend 1995 we'd call him The WarLard
That oversell from Mr. Perfect into the ring corner was just hilarious!
The Macho King vs. The Ultimate Warrior stole the show.
Macho did that a lot, he was just that good.
I agree
nah hulk hogan did
Randy Savage in a show stealing match? Who ever heard of such a thing?
@@MyPisceanNature Having a show stealing match with Ricky Steamboat is one thing, having it with the Ultimate Warrior is a whole new dimension!
Jim Helwig saving a little of his cardio by walking to the ring is quite telling!
Two things: the squash match with Earthquake was the reason Greg Valentine wanted to quit the WWF (his words). Also, a couple of years ago Hogan and Slaughter did a sit-down watch of their match together - that video is available on CZcams somewhere and was a nice thing to see. Ironically enough, Hogan and Slaughter are still with us (May 2024), despite so many of those in WM7 are now gone.
But Greg stayed w wwf rest of year. I think he was even in the RR 92 match!
More old shows please!.... Had most of these on VHS as a nipper 😊
Lmao I did NOT read your comment correctly the first time lol
Hercules also had a groin tear, so both P&G were injured
Good job editing the main event, brother. CZcams censorship is more strict than a Saturday morning cartoon
I heard a story that when the Nasty Boys showed up to the next set of tapings after Wrestlemania they only had one tag belt. Apparently they gave one to Willie Nelson who they ended up partying with after the show.
I watched this over & over on vhs tape. I'd always have coliseum videos playing as i played with my hasbro wwf figures & my dad on the bbq grill in the back patio 💪
Man that took me back
Good times
Pretty sad, everyone in the Macho Man (w/ Elizabeth) and Warrior match have all passed away.
Even the commentators & ring announcer
@@theupperroom1 yeah, you’re right. I didn’t think about that. Gorilla, Bobby Heenan, Roddy Piper (commentator sometimes), Finkle, I believe Sensational Sherry is dead too. Geez!
And Joey Marella.
And Gene Okerlund

A sad end to Demolition
Kitao also tried shooting on Meng...it went as well as you'd expect
What a major mistake that was lol
Knock the powder right out of Marty's nose. What a line!
Ha.
"What a line"
That's what Marty said at the afterparty lol.
@@eyeguydojima7131you beat me to it 😂
As someone who has been a below knee amputee all my life.
The fact that Kerry could still work at the highest level and kept it from the boys for so long. Is a testament to what a great athlete he was. I watch his wwe matches (I know what I’m looking for) and I find it difficult to notice.
Personal problems aside. Kerry Von Erich was amazing and incredibly brave. 👍
Dammit!! You got me with that Macho Man and Liz segment
That classic wrestlemania intro music
Made me hyped - Jim Johnston was a genuis
I love that classic Wrestlemania intro (from WM6 till WM8). Combined with Vince barking off his vocal cords you're just pumped up for the event.
That old music... Such memories! ❤
Your commentary on the Warlord Bulldog match was hysterical. I was laughing the entire time. Love it.
As a Demolition fan it sucked to see them go out jobbing to two guys no one cared about or even knew.
True but Tenryu eventually became a legend in Japan.
I would agree with you if I didn't know who tenryu is
I watched this when it originally aired and didn't even remember that. Now I watch it and I'm like "hey that's the guy that shot on Earthquake!"
Bill Eadie (Ax) is from my home town, he still has his small gym out here and wears his makeup once in a while for fans and signs autographs
Hes awesome
“No one” 🤡
DUDE!!!! I was literally just wishing you'd cover "non Monday night war" stuff. Omg this is gonna give us so much more content
The Undertaker's streak begins at this event.
You'd never know Kerry Von Erich had one foot.
I literally didn't know until I watched a previous Wrestling Bios video a few months ago 😂.
Didnt know this fact till I saw the dark side of the ring episode of the von Erich’s
Never heard of the guy, probably because of being too young and from Europe, but his story is a very sad one.
In the wild world of pro wrestling, a guy showering with his boots still on is one of the least strange things.
OMG, Golden Era Wrestling Bios out of nowhere!!!!
Loved the Flashback look and will continue to beg to do a chronological look at all Starrcades, especially since we're in the extremely painful WCW years.
These videos are so nostalgic. Thank you so much for continuing to put these out.
“The phenom stares at his opponent like he just murdered his girlfriend or something”…
Damn Wrestling Bios went there!
That was so inappropriate.
@@zemox2534 but, Snuka did murder his own girlfriend, thats not inappropriate, thats a fact

Fair play to Dibiase for getting something out of Virgil
I hope you cover some of the WCW PPVs from 90-92 someday. Absolutely mind boggling stuff that you'd have a real field day with.

I love that theme! Funnily enough, I only came across it first in the Showcase mode of WWE 2K24. I was too young to watch WrestleMania in 1991.
This just shows that if warrior puts effort in he could have great matches
More like macho man makes all his opponents look good
No, he couldn't. Randy Savage and Pat Patterson could get something out of almost anybody, with enough time to plan, prepare, and rehearse.
Hellwig was incapable of doing anything watchable, that was longer than a quick squash, without direction and a lot of prep work. His few good matches that people always bring up, were always the result of the opponents'/agents' work and - for the time - unusually long rehearsal sessions. Hellwig's championship win at WrestleMania VI took an entire week of rehearsals in the WWF's infamous warehouse, where Patterson and Hogan slowly "taught him the match", step by step.
Bio-mania running wild, dude.
This wrestlemania holds such a special place in my heart. It’s the 1st one my dad and I ever watched live together. He passed away a few years later sadly , so we didn’t get to watch very many. I was so excited to watch it too after months of begging my parents to order ppv’s.
I finally have the answer as to why the LO.D. match was so short! lol I was really expecting it to be more competitive back then.
So thanks!
Yes, the crowd was definitely having a lot of fun! That's one of the reasons why the smaller arenas are usually better , i.e. better acoustics. Those large outdoor stadiums look impressive but sometimes you can't really hear the crowd effectively.
And Yes, there are throwaway matches on here. Like most ppvs. A 3 hour show- if you cut the filler -can be about 90 minutes.
Got the Iron Claw on DVD but haven't seen the film yet. Used to like Texas Tornado when I was younger. RIP.
It's really good. I absolutely guarantee you'll like it if you like the Von Erichs and/or wrestling history.
There wasn’t enough in it for me. Was so disappointed with it.
Both Power and Glory were injured. Roma had the worse injury but Herc had a torn groin which made him completely useless.
LOL at Vlad the superfan! I thought I saw him in an early shot, and you totally called him out by name! Legend!
Randy was still so good at this point in 1991- and for quite a while after that. Then you see him in 1999 on "Reliving The War" and he's twice the size, hypertensive as hell, nowhere near half as good, dressed in the most boring generic outfit imaginable, and stuck in a creatively bankrupt, slowly disintegrating/unravelling promotion. It's heartbreaking in a way.
Who remembers the segment that aired live? Vince McMahon had various sports personalities debating if instant replay should be allowed in WWF. It was cut from subsequent releases
13:32 weird to see a match between Macho Man and The Ultimate Warrior now knowing they both died in their fifties.
Who doesn't like Re-Living the War?
We didn't have much access to WCW as a kid so it's great to see what happened there especially in the WrestlingBios comical stylings and also putting over his personal favourites
Ahh the old "Bomb threat" story always makes me chuckle. They didnt sell near anough tickets so changed venues
But it felt rushed how to the build up.
I wish a different event was covered, But still Thank You! this reminds me of earlier wrestlingbios days! I joined when you were pretty much only covering individual wrestlers careers lol
"Like he killed his girlfriend or something" ... Nice pun on Snuka 😂🤣
That is not funny.
@@zemox2534 get a sense of humor smfh... It's called dark humor 😉

Jake peaking his hand through the “blindfold” 😂
Both members of Power and Glory were injured that night. Roma with the elbow and Hercules had a groin injury.
The squash works perfectly to set up LODs upcoming run
THAT Wrestlemania theme tune!!!! Wish they kept it.
The blindfold match divides opinion, but I really liked it. It was short, different and fun with both wrestlers playing their roles really well. Extremely hokey but fun build up too.
Man this pay-per-view review of yours really brought back a lot of memories for me I really miss this era of wrestling so much.
Fond memories of this one as I watched it obsessively on video back in the day. Watching this back makes me realise how good this one was not perfect but loads of great moments. Thanks for the quality video as always!
That intro music though 🔥🔥🔥 Man you just took me back to my childhood with this one! I remember watching this with my late uncle. I can still picture him jumping up and screaming after Hogan hit the big boot and then yelling "Drop the leg! Drop the leg! 1...2...3!!! He did it!" Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🙏
Fantastic stuff, i hope you review more PPVs, and from other promotions, that would be awesome.
Wcw especially
I just turned 38 last week and I remember renting this vhs from my local video store. I didn’t grow up watching cartoons, WWF was all I needed. I’d wake up earlier than my parents and watch this while eating cereal having the time of my life ! Good memories 🥹😬
that should be the music for every wrestlemania
I love everything you do on this channel. The Monday Night wars, The Hulkamania era, hell I would watch if you did something about the territories. I hope you do WrestleMania VIII one of these days. I'd love to see a video about that one.
I was there. Brooklyn Brawler vs. Coco B. Ware was dark match.
Thanks for choosing this review. It was the first PPV I ever saw, and Seeing Mr Perfect bumping like a madman changed my whole life.
Thank you for reviewing this. This was the very first PPV I ever watched and brings back a lot of memories
.....its wrestlemaniaaaaa! The music is iconic!!
I love your content I've been watching for many years back when you did just do wrestlers bios and it's helped me thru tough times and that was back in the only biographies days and I've watched everything since I appreciate and thank you for everything
This is the best CZcams channel bro. Wrestling Bios brings back so much memories and he's funny 🤣 . Goodlookin on the videos brother 👍👍
Oh man that intro music, the
Wrestlemania hype music brings me right back to being 11 years old and psyched to watch it on VHS, because we didn’t get to see it on PPV as my parents couldn’t afford it.
I love it! Keep those Oldschool reviews coming please! 🤟
Thank goodness...he dodged one there. We're all so happy you were appeased
Wonderful upload. SummerSlam 90 next, please!!
16:53 always love this shot when re-watching wm 7 - this guy was so into it as we all were during this era. Remember watching this with my mum back then - even she was in tears. Good times 😂
Will be great for more weekly shows reviewed too.
Old Raw shows, Superstars, Heat, Shotgun, Metal/Jakked, Velocity etc
Thanks for the great work Wrestling Bios! ❤
It’s bloody heartbreaking that we’ll never see anything like this again.
The world just wasn’t a cynical place. Even a generic clothesline brought the crowds to their feet back then.
At least I had the pleasure of living through it.
Love you're videos especially the ones about older 80s and 90s wrestling
The reason they changed coliseums is because of poor ticket sales. And the reason for poor ticket sales was Sgt Slaughter as WWF Champion. People wanted Warrior-Hogan 2, and after Royal Rumble 1991 they knew they weren’t getting it.
Doing these is really gonna help you get a break during the 2000 episodes of Nitro on RTW lol
I always liked WM 7 and I was 6 when it aired and loved the blindfold match for its craziness so it still holds nostalgia for me
Right after this came out on VHS I rented it. I just had started to get into wrestling, so this was my first PPV and first Mania I watched. Holds a special place in my heart because of that. Loved the memories of my brother's and I going crazy at the tv watching it!
This was a golden era of larger than life, colorful cartoon-style wrestlers. I loved this timeframe of wrestling.
Slick's promo was just fantastic!
Winston? What ever happened to Matilda?
Well, Big Boss Man was there...
Thanks for reminding us we still need a classic Wrestling Bios deep dive into Bob Remus / Sgt Slaughters career. Who came up with the gimmick? Did he bring it to WWF or was it a creative decision made in house? How did he deal with Stolen Valor controversy?
For being such a big fella and not young anymore, Slaughter was a hell of a bumper. Always has been. Dude killed himself with every Irish whip! Mad respect for the Sarge.
I remember when I realized I could rent video tapes from the public library. Very quickly rented the WrestleManias!! Brings back great memories. Thanks for the great videos!!
This makes me feel like a 6 year old again, so nostalgic. What I find more interesting is the post WrestleMania VII aftermath. The final WrestleMania appearances for Haku, Barbarian, Marty Jannetty (The Rockers as a team), Kerry Von Erich (one & only), Dino Bravo, The Warlord, Slick, Jim Neidhart (The Hart Foundation as a team), Jimmy Snuka, Demolition in all their versions, Andre The Giant, Greg Valentine, Hercules & the final WrestleMania with Bobby Heenan as a manager.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Sensational Sherri and Macho Man Randy Savage were the MVP’s of WM VII
This is the first wrestlemania I saw as a kid. Thanks for the upload!
There’s no other intro that makes me this happy!!!! That wrestle mania theme was everything as a kid to me!!!! Me and my gpals thing we did watch all 4ppv events a year back then!!!! Just awesome RIP GPAL SEE YOU IN THE OTHER SIDE THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE FOR ME YOU ARE MY SUPER HERO
There was also the aftermath of WM7 where Slaughter lights a fireball in Hogan's face as he's walking back to the locker room after this match. This sets the stage for the Match Made in Hell at Summerslam 1991.
What are you talking about Wrestling Bios i love the RTW series it takes me back when Wrestling was good.
You can do no wrong with anything you put on this channel.
So thank you Sir
For all that you do.
If the main event was a rematch between Hogan and Warrior then maybe WWE wouldn’t have had to change venues. I don’t think Slaughter being threatened was the real reason for the change.
Yeah…
Yeah, knowing what we now years later about Vince McMahon, you think some "threats" about Slaughter would stop him from running a show in front of over 100,000 fans? Hell no. He would have trot Slaughter out there and said "This match is important, dont go screwing it up cause you're nervous, pal"
This was the first sign that the next few years were not going to be as great for the company as the previous 6 had been.
That's what happens when you job out all your top heels out of the main event picture for the past few years, or just book them to win a squash match.
Hogan's ego demanded Perfect remain in the midcard, and Warrior be stuck with a leftover Rude feud few had any reason to care about.
And Slaughter didn't belong anywhere near a main event.
@@juststatedtheobvious9633but it was unexpected how he won the title.
