I’m in art school at the Rhode Island School of Design and we literally JUST studied this book in our Design class!! we had sheets of construction paper and had to create the same illusions that Albers did in the book, as well as our own variations (using different colors but achieving the same illusions). it’s surprisingly difficult! great video as always ❤️

I would LOVE a video where you play with these concepts with sheets of paper! Maybe even cutting them yourself, writing notes on the results, etc.

This book is sooo interesting!🙂 It reminds me of a book called “Seeing Is Forgetting The Name Of The Thing One Sees” It’s a collection of conversations w the light & space artist, Robert Irwin. I love how light and perception seem to dance with one another, and how perception itself seems to be the “art” experience. It’s so cool how color can represent the unique subtlety within the way light reveals space to perception over time🌈

I just did albers studies in university for graphic design. It’s crazy how much color can shift, my sense of color was messed up for days though
