I’m obsessed with watching videos on how to learn a language (rather than putting in the time to learn the actual language lmao) so IM SO HERE FOR THIS
Ich werde auch mit dir sprechen
What a crossover!!
When worlds collide
Same! ^^ Na, not really, I watch a lot of French podcasts to improve my comprehension in French, but I really need to speak it! xD
But I should probably start putting some effort in one of the other languages I want to learn! xD
You will love Matt vs Japan's videos then
"Ich bin Jade" is actually grammatically correct! It may be a bit more colloquial than "Ich heiße Jade" (and I think that might be the reason why your teacher wanted you to use that), but it is certainly not wrong! Btw, your pronunciation is 'wirklich sehr gut'! Mach weiter so, ich liebe deine Videos ✨ edit: I just watched the entire video and wow, your German at the end of the video is so incredibly good, i am blown away! German is such a hard language and the fact that you have been learning German for just a month makes this even more incredible!
I'm from germany and saying "Ich bin Jade" would be something absolutely normal to say in an everyday situation!
Yes exactly
GERMAN AINT A HARD LANGUAGE TO LEARN
@@gabriellelougue9831 i'll just say "Umfahren" and "umfAhren" (same spelling, but depending on the stressed syllable it can mean the opposite of the other word)
I can only agree on that. That was sooo good ! Keep it up 💃🏻 Mach weiter so!
“Jeremias” and “Annenmaykantereit” are great German indie bands, I can really recommend them :)
Truuuue they are so cool✨
Ooohhhh, I definitely agree… and “Von wegen Lisbeth” too🙌🏼
„Faber“ is great too!
And "Provinz"
Yaaaas, Von Wegen Lisbeth and Blond!!!
You can actually say “Ich bin Jade” so dont worry haha its just the same way english teachers want us to say “My name is Phil” instead of “I’m Phil”
Yes, you can say „Ich bin Jade“ but that’s grammatically incorrect. That’s why the German teacher corrected her.
Some native Germans say „Ich bin…“ but actually it is wrong grammar. In a real life conversation no one would really care though
@@rinmartell2678 literally every german native speaker would say "ich bin...". "Ich heiße.." sounds so weird. Then its even better to say "Mein Name ist..." when you re introducing yourself formally :D
I agree, but I think "Ich bin die Jade" is slightly better. But this might be southern German? And it would give people your correct gender.
@@DerTaran mmmh putting articles in front of names is a matter of dialect, it really depends on where you live
@@ariamontgomery7634 Jeder sagt "ich heiße...", wenn er seinen Namen nennt. Was ist daran "weird"?
I am German and I actually do introduce myself saying "ich bin Maren" - it's not totally grammatical but we do say it in daily conversation! My tip: start reading children's books in German. That way you internalise the grammar, expand your vocabulary and get to know the culture! My faves growing up: Tintenherz, Die unendliche Geschichte, Die wilden Hühner und Lucian.
habe ich mir auch so gedacht...
mein ganzes herz gehört der tintenherz reihe
Can we talk about how good your brother's German is though😳👏🏻
7:06 when your brother said "sehr gut", he sounded 100% German, not even the trace of an accent! I'm impressed!
@Gonzalo Gonzalo she didn't learn German when she was there... did you not listen to the entire start of the video?
I lived in Berlin for a year and I knew many people who simply did not learn German because in Berlin you really don't have to...
Ich bin [...] is correct! Teachers just want you to use "Ich heiße..."
And your taste in music is awesome Jade!! You are doing great
That's good to know because I often hear that we go to other countries and we found a bit strange because we don't know how to speak causally in that language and use terms regular German society font particularly use!
literally considering taking up lingoda because of you AHH
gal you should do it!! highly recommend 🦋🦋🦋
Should i register also? I can speak german but not that great. I have been living in Germany now for over 9 months, i havent attended any german lessons, but i have learned German by living here. Is it only for real begginers or can i also learn some more german?
Hey Jade!
I am German and it's quite cool to see someone learning German as I can imagine how hard it must be. I don't know if you like that kind of music but I really like the German band 'AnnenMayKantereit' as well as 'Provinz' or 'JEREMIAS'.
Can't wait to follow your further yourney x
Love from the south of Germany
YES she has to listen to their music!! I feel like JEREMIAS fits her vibe so well
I ADORE JEREMIAS AHHHHHH
Please listen to Provinz!!
You could also listen to Alligatoah, die Ärzte, von wegen Lisbeth, Kraftklub, Kummer, Blond
one problem i face the most is there are no lyrical videos or audios of German songs and its way to difficult to learn from just listening. If you know any channel or something where i can find. Please tell..love from India.
Little tips just so that you know what to focus on:
Und ich liebe zu reisen (10:59) - the word order was incorrect
Aber ich bin auch selbstendich (11:06) - the word order was incorrect
Weil ich ein CZcams Channel (11:11) - with 'weil', the verb goes at the end
Die Bücher (11:35) - always with plural words it is 'die'
Und ich liebe Leute zu helfen (11:44) - The verb goes at the end
Otherwise, everything was awesome. By the way, I love your videos and I hope to see another of these speaking in German videos hahaha.
You spelled „selbstständig“ wrong lol
@Nissou yes it is the same! most of the time, they are interchangeable. If you want to say "Hey guys" you could say "Hey Leute" but not "Hey Menschen". Menschen means people as in human beings, Leute is more informal and can be used for "guys".
I literally died at the end, your accent is soooo cute. And you're speaking so well!
That's so gooooood!!! Well done! Amazing to see how committed you are to be able to speak with locals and understand better the culture! I love it
ahhh your german has improved so much literally over the course of this video!! so happy to see your progress and so excited to follow your language journey in berlin (again!) !!!!
it is so fun seeing someone learning your native language and you are doing so great!!
Wow!! you‘re literally SO GOOD already!!! it‘s incredible how fast you’re learning!!
Watching as a German who loves to learn languages, too! It's just so interesting seeing people learn German and find out what they struggle with the most, but you're doing so so well! Spoke so clearly and could understand everything so easily. Especially cute was the part where you said "Kann ich einen Muffin haben?" and as the other person "Joaaar (yeah), kann es noch was sein?"
WOHOO! Congratulations Jade, I’m so proud of you 💗
AHHH it's so cool to see someone learning your language!!
In Polish school german is secound obligatory language(after english)we are learning it for 3 years than you can pick another language (or still stick with german) to learn for next 3 years.
Such a cool language...I have been learning German for 6 months now also for my classes...
@@martak6959 that is soo cool!! I actually went on a Poland exchange once! dobry👍
@@numbpill3545 have fun learning!! 6 months is a LOT!
So motivating to see you learn German successfully! I've loved my German, English and Latin classes at school, I've learned a bit of Russian at home but only recently I realized much I thrive when learning new languages so I've enrolled in an intensive Spanish class (2 hours / 4 times per week) even though it's my first real exam season (finishing school here) and I'm loving it! Thank you for giving me some additional inspiration through showing your progress
I totally agree with you
Honestly, you are doing amazing. Your progress in just one month is outstanding. I am native in German and even I struggle with the language sometimes. It is certainly not an easy language but you are doing great!
„Ich bin Jade“ couldn’t be more grammatically correct JADE what class were u in 😭😭 (trust me on this one i’ve never lived anywhere else) both Ich heiße (My name is...) and Ich bin (I am...) are totally correct✨🤍
That's what I was thinking. I'm American and in Germany right now and I introduce myself like that all the time.
As a person finishing up their bachelor's in German, ich fand dieses Video echt interessant und deine Akzent ist unglaublich gut für eine Anfängerin! 🇩🇪 viel Glück beim Deutsch lernen
I'm learning French this summer for a trip next year!! It's so exciting to explore new cultures and I'm so grateful for the many opportunities. Thank you for this video, Jade! You inspire me :)
Your Germany improved so much! Your little monologue at the end was really good!
I've watched several language learning videos like yours recently (The Bliss Bean and Holly Gabrielle also uploaded some) and now I'm so excited about learning languages again. I'd love to do a Lingoda sprint some day!
I don't really listen to German music but my friends got me into this duo called Das Lumpenpack. My favourite songs are Ford Fiesta and WZF?! and I love how their songs tell a story and are usually pretty funny.
I'm learning Italian at the moment so language learning content is so motivational for me rn!!
Holly and jade both uploaded German related videos!! Yaay!! I miss their friendship
so hyped for your future videos from berlin!! i love your vibes 💖
break my heart omg ich liebe diesen song!!
Great attempt! Keep going! I am also learning german right now and your video inspired me to continue) Have a beautiful day Jade, love your content ❤️
Yes! I did french in IGCSE and ofc I was able to write essays on french but never was able to speak fluently because I need to think for at least 5 mins to frame a sentence and worry always about whether it was grammatically correct! But I found this amazing person, my french tchr but she taught us only for 3/4 months because our prev french tchr left when we were supposed to be writing our igcses in like 5-6 months but the time I spent with new tchr I improved a lot because the whole of the class we keep speaking in french and she said we don't have to bother ourselves about whether It is grammatically correct but just the attempt of speaking will get u there ! So yeah that's the key to learning any lang ......loads of love jade ❤️
I have been studying german for 3 years and i defintly find it hard but it is so insightful learning a language. You really motivate me to work hard on my language learning journey 😊
Jadeeeeeee du machst das sooo gut! 😍 It's insane how fast u can learn languages. I am from Germany and you can speak the language so so so good! I would love to learn Dutch so if u have a tipp for me, i would be very happy haha ❤️
I've been learning German for about a month too!
You definitely have better results, but it was amazing to see someone with similar experience right now
Thank you for the video and for some learning hacks!
please continue posting you speaking german! im doing the c1 level test in the fall and am trying to find new things to watch in german
Prima, du bist fantastisch 🤗🤗❤❤
I think your videos are so inspiring and your German is really good! ❤
You still have the spark of excitement before and after Lingoda. I wish I could have tried. Thanks for sharing. 👏❤
Don‘t worry about your german introduction. I (german) and so many other germans introduce themselves with :“hallo, ich bin....“
I have been waiting for this!!! I used to learn german but stopped, this is very inspiring, Jade!!! Wow!!!
this is incredible jade, so inspirational omg now I wanna learn a language!!
Can you please post more videos of you practicing and speaking the language like in the last part!! I love watching! Please do it with the dutch as well!
As a German who lives in the Netherlands to study in English and who passionately learned French in high school, I love all of your language videos so much!!
Ich liebe das !!! Mach bitte öfter solche Videos! 🥰
So funny to watch it as a German 😂 good job! And love it how excited u r about Gernany and German !
I'm basque and I've been learning German on my own for 2 years. I love it and I find it quite similar to Basque in some aspects!
Must recommend "Feine Sahne Fischcillet" great band!!!
As a native speaker I can say your brother’s German sounds so good!!
You have become good at this! Keep going, I am inspired!
Gut gemacht Jade, du sprichst schon sehr gut! Weiter so!
Wow Jade your German is so good already! I’m Dutch and I’ve been studying German at school for a few years now, so it’s so cool to hear you speak German! :)
Ach du bist SO gut!!! Du hast so schnell (und gut!) gelernt!!!
you did sooo good at speaking! i’ve been learning german just for one year and i half and i can speak almost the same as you :( it’s going slower than i’d like to but it’s a tough language
anyways you did amazing!!
I'm getting some flashbacks to my early days in my German course. I finished B2 but didn't use it for a while, so working to regain it now that I'm headed back to Berlin. Good luck!
You go Jade! Props to you for your dedication to learning a foreign language. I'm not a native German speaker (my mother tongue is Dutch haha), but from what I could tell you are making great progress! :D
The editing, the vibes is divine
Am on my finals rn , and u don't know how did your experience motivated me
Tysm
This is amazing ! I really needed this, my new boyfriend is German and I don’t speak a word of German, as a French! Definitely going to try this to surprise him 😊
Woww Jade ur amazingg!! I know german but it took me 2 years to speak like you, keep going u will be like native💖💖
Oh my god, That was hilarious at the end. I love it. Bis bald! ❤️
I am obsessed with your videos because it always motivate to learn a new skills always 😃😃😃
You really improved a lot! You did amazing! In addition to the artists I already read in the commemts I would recommend the alternative-pop bands "Bilderbuch" and "Wanda". They are austrian, so the pronunciation of certain words could be a challange. But specially Bilderbuch are mixing a lot of english in as well.
Keep up your good work, jade! :)
I'm watching you since 2018 now ( I think ) and I'm soo hyped and happy about you learning german since I'm from there 🥺❣ wish you could do a meet up in berlin if the corona situation allows it 🥰
I just started studying German! I have been putting it off for so long lol
wow ich bin beeindruckt! Du bist schon SO gut!
Love your videos so much :)
Wow I’ve been studying German for almost 6 years now and to say you’ve only been studying for a month is incredible! You know so much already, keep it up! Sehr gut!
Aahhh being German i really really admire your hard work and you are already so good at it!! I love your pronunciation plus it sounds so sweet :) go on with it and i know you will be so good at it by the end of the year!! Ohh and if you are ever searching for someone to help you or maybe you want to do a chat in German some time soon, I would be so happy to help :)) Viel Erfolg beim Deutsch lernen und habe einen schönen Tag!
And more German music I can recommend listening to for learning more "normal words": Cro, Provinz, Max Giesinger, Andreas Bourani.
I think those are easier to understand than the rappers :D but i love that you listen to them, they are just a classic!
Mach weiter so!
(To watch this video as a German is soo interesting and inspiring. You're already speaking so well! Keep it up!!)
you did such great work girl, u speak like a real German person . good luck and keep going
Im very impressed with this video , one of the best videos i watched on ur channel , keep going jade THAT was reealy motivating !
Prima ❤❤
You sound amazing!! From personal experience, learning German really isn't easy, but confidence in speaking out even though you might get 90% of the things wrong is the key to success hahah. One little trick that helped me remember verb position as a kid is doing the peace sign✌🏻, cause it's a V for Verb and 2 for 2. Position :) (just remember: it doesn't work for all phrases, like ones with many verbs and questions, but that's a story for later)
Viel Erfolg!
Bravo
I love Lingoda! I recently posted a vlog sharing my first week of Spanish classes with them. I studied in Berlin for one semester in college and I'd love to go back. I'll definitely have to take some German Lingoda classes first though because mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut haha
OHHHH MYYY GOODNESS watching this as a German is the best thing ever 😂
you really inspired me to increase my French skills now. love it.
Pls keep us updated! :)
okay the german speaking part was so cute !! love your german personality :)
I know it has been suggested before but you should totally look into the videos of EASY GERMAN! those guys are amazing and their videos are incredibly helpful!
PLSSSS THIS IS LOVELY
I love that you are learning German💕
Also I think your German speaking community would love to help you out, so if you need a speaking buddy just ask us🥰
i would love to do the Lingoda super sprint, especially since it would give me something to do during my a level holidays, but i genuinely don’t have the money to chance that i’ll manage all the classes!!
You're so inspirational ❤️
Omg that’s impressive!! I’d recommend Cro as another really cool German artist - he has lots of dance bops!!🙌
Eek!! I’ve been messaging you on Instagram about this. This is the video I’ve been waiting for!
amazing content. thanks for sharing
and here you are reigniting my motivation to learn german so I can maybe live there for a bit
Hey Jade!
Mega!
I saw your september video to choose my exchange program destination hahaha fun to know you are going again
Dein Deutsch am Ende war richtig gut. Auch das Singen war echt cool. Weiter so, Jade.
I recently promised myself that I'm going to start learning French and Italian again so this came at the perfect time !! This was super inspiring and motivating!
Wow jade I am really proud of you as somebody who grew up in Germany and speaks fluent German I have to say you pronunciation is reallly good and very understandable like even tho I speak German I still get when people say it is a hard language because it is.
Ahhhhhh Das ist sehr toll!!
I’m moving to Munich this winter and I need to do this !!
That german was so good! I study in cologne but my next semester is also gonna be in Berlin 🙌
I once saw a conversation on a dutch beach, where the dutch man was speaking dutch, and the german man was speaking german, and they understood each other! It was easier for both people to express themselves in their native language.
