"Ich bin Jade" is actually grammatically correct! It may be a bit more colloquial than "Ich heiße Jade" (and I think that might be the reason why your teacher wanted you to use that), but it is certainly not wrong! Btw, your pronunciation is 'wirklich sehr gut'! Mach weiter so, ich liebe deine Videos ✨ edit: I just watched the entire video and wow, your German at the end of the video is so incredibly good, i am blown away! I am German and I actually do introduce myself saying "ich bin Maren" - it's not totally grammatical but we do say it in daily conversation! My tip: start reading children's books in German. That way you internalise the grammar, expand your vocabulary and get to know the culture! My faves growing up: Tintenherz, Die unendliche Geschichte, Die wilden Hühner und Lucian.

Und ich liebe zu reisen (10:59) - the word order was incorrect

Weil ich ein CZcams Channel (11:11) - with 'weil', the verb goes at the end
Die Bücher (11:35) - always with plural words it is 'die'

But I found this amazing person, my french tchr but she taught us only for 3/4 months because our prev french tchr left when we were supposed to be writing our igcses in like 5-6 months but the time I spent with new tchr I improved a lot because the whole of the class we keep speaking in french and she said we don't have to bother ourselves about whether It is grammatically correct but just the attempt of speaking will get u there ! You really improved a lot! You did amazing! In addition to the artists I already read in the commemts I would recommend the alternative-pop bands "Bilderbuch" and "Wanda". They are austrian, so the pronunciation of certain words could be a challange. But specially Bilderbuch are mixing a lot of english in as well.
Keep up your good work, jade! :)

Aahhh being German i really really admire your hard work and you are already so good at it!! I love your pronunciation plus it sounds so sweet :) go on with it and i know you will be so good at it by the end of the year!! Ohh and if you are ever searching for someone to help you or maybe you want to do a chat in German some time soon, I would be so happy to help :)) Viel Erfolg beim Deutsch lernen und habe einen schönen Tag!
And more German music I can recommend listening to for learning more "normal words": Cro, Provinz, Max Giesinger, Andreas Bourani.
I think those are easier to understand than the rappers :D but i love that you listen to them, they are just a classic!

You sound amazing!! From personal experience, learning German really isn't easy, but confidence in speaking out even though you might get 90% of the things wrong is the key to success hahah. One little trick that helped me remember verb position as a kid is doing the peace sign✌🏻, cause it's a V for Verb and 2 for 2. Position :) (just remember: it doesn't work for all phrases, like ones with many verbs and questions, but that's a story for later)
Viel Erfolg! Ich bin ganz stolz auf dich 💗

I once saw a conversation on a dutch beach, where the dutch man was speaking dutch, and the german man was speaking german, and they understood each other! It was easier for both people to express themselves in their native language.
