  • This BMW 7-Series may look less controversial than the model that was launched in 2002, but that doesn't mean that it's any less revolutionary. There are no carry-over components from the previous car and this 7-Series has a softer and more elegant look to it
Inside, every car comes with satellite navigation and is elegantly finished with top quality materials. It's easy to get comfortable with large, supportive seats that can be specified with a massager function. The layout of the dash is logical and it's fitted with a vastly upgraded 'i-Drive' system. The rear seats can seat three, though it's far more comfortable with two in the back, with plenty of head, leg and shoulder room. Those who choose the long-wheelbase version can really stretch out.
The 730d is a smooth and refined engine with 245hp on offer. Although there was a 730d available in the previous generation car, the engine offered here is all new. Improvements mean that it's lighter and therefore burns less fuel, making it more economical.
Despite its size, the 7-Series feels reasonably agile and corners with far less body roll than before. It's a definite improvement on the old model with sharper, more responsive steering, better driver involvement and crisper gear-changes. Ride comfort is good too and it's possible to tweak the settings. Comfort softens the suspension at the expense of handling, while Sport hardens it for sharper handling.

3 liter straight six, probably the best diesel engine ever made and in 7 series form such a pleasure to drive, love it.

3 Liter BMW Diesel ist relativ krass sparsam. Kenne einen Kollegen der seinen mit 7 Liter/100km oder sogar weniger fährt
