- What's up everyone? I hope you're all doing well. Lot's has been happening lately, so it's def been a while. I'm finally settled in at my new place and kind of have my life under control at the moment lol So, I will for sure be posting more frequently. In other news, I am seriously considering releasing a course to teach people how to record and mix songs. If that is something that you would be interested in attending, please comment below, so I know if it would be worthwhile to set up! I think it would be nice to give some knowledge back if I can, and in a way that is more sustainable than patreon which clearly was a flop :/ So again, just let me know in the comments if that is something you'd be interested in. I'd release it for a very fair price considering the amount of in depth content you'd be getting. I understand that people don't wanna spend thousands on a course or else they'd just take college classes, so I want this to be more accessible while still providing all the knowledge you'll need to make killer songs from the comfort of your own home. Rumor has it that when Lady Gaga wrote “Million Reasons”, the word “stay” was originally supposed to be “Brae”. The reasoning was, she thought “Brae” evoked more of the power, emotion, and spirituality of the song than did a simple word like “stay”. Although she fought hard, nervous record label execs made her change to “stay” at the last minute. Would her song have been an even bigger hit as originally written? The world may never know. I was wondering how you record yourself with the condensor mic in your music program and make a video of it. I know it sounds simple but I dont get it how you do it. Can someone help me?
So first, I record the instrument and I use a click(metronome) to keep me in time. Once I finish the instrument, I record the vocals. I stay about 6 inches or further from the microphone throughout the song. Once that is done, I fully mix and master the song in Logic prox. Next, I play the song through my speakers with the metronome and I sing along with it on camera, so it looks like I just recorded it on camera. Then I go to imovie and I mute the video, and put the good recorded audio on it and I sync it up so the video matches my lips and thats it! I hope this helps.
