I wrote to Volvo when TWR were running the team and I was a big fan. Tom sent me a huge pile of posters and cards, all signed. I still have it.

Such a fantastic insight, there is not much information available about TWR back in the day

Tom was a lad's lad ..the real deal..I was in awe as a young bloke back in Zimbabwe 86', reading about the TWR Jags in the local newspaper ... Whilst the Lambo was the rage those days, I actually had a small poster, I bought at Donnybrook , of the XJ V12 he drove to victory at the J.Hardy 1000 in 85

When those XJSs arrived at Bathurst in 1985 my life changed. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I wonder what happen to all of those SD1s?

Mostly sold to private racers and collectors. You still see some of them racing in historics like Goodwood Festival.

What is the collective noun for Group A SD1s?

Great driver loved to see that v12 cat around Bathurst. I had an 84 XJS HE V12 and was a dream to drive but expensive to keep on the road. Was stolen and damaged beyond repair. Great shame

They make excellent classic weekenders now, it has really brought the cost of owning them down to a reasonable level. I’m sorry to hear about your car.

Thank you, I agree, I actually taught my son to drive in it, we were going around Canberra near the airport and i said to him what speed are you doing as i thought we were doing more than 100kph, his reply was almost 160 dad. That is how smooth and comfortable they were.
Thank you for a great video. 👍
