  • Yara's CEO, Svein Tore Holsether spoke with BBC News about the world's first binding cross-border contract in operation for carbon capture and storage (CCS)!
Reflecting on our decarbonization journey, Svein Tore shared that Yara Sluiskil has reduced emissions by 60%, while at the same time, increasing production.
Now the plant will embark on another exciting and transformative journey by reducing one of the biggest emission points in the Netherlands!
Annually, the plant aims to reduce 800,000 tons of CO2 emissions. The CO2 will be then by liquefied and shipped by Northern Lights JV for permanent storage on the Norwegian continental shelf.
