One of my absolute favourite stories in football was this inter season. A very lovable squad of ageing players with class such as ZanettI, Cambiasso, Milito, Stankovic, all approaching the end of their careers with this the last real chance for any of them to ever win the champions league. Their play style as well was very patient, very controlled and disciplined, not a single diva player, everyone listened to the manager. The way they beat Barca despite the red card through sheer willpower. The moment after the game with mourinho saying goodbye to Materazzi was awesome as well. Football at it’s best can tell us stories. It’s been a while since I’ve seen one as good as this.

Sneijder deserve to get it that year

    • @ThatGuy-tx4vm
      @ThatGuy-tx4vm Před 3 lety +6

There is a simple reason why he did not deserve it. If milito did not score those goals and snejider played the exact same game he would not be considered for ballon d'or because he wouldn't lift the trophy.... But snejider would play the exact same. He would give the assists to milito but milito would miss, he would win the ball back in midfield for the second goal and milito would again miss. That is why snejider did not deserve. Because if suddenly just because of a teammates error in the final game of the season you become from best to not best then you are not actually the best.

@@TwoFootball1998 messi was the best of his team. A team which literally had no coach. Netherlands meanwhile was stronger than argentina. They went and reached the final. And the season is not only one month, it is from start to finish. Messi was more crucial in more games than snejider. A trophy depends on teammates, an individual performance depends on the teammates far less. You can be man of the match if you lose 4-3 but you cannot win the trophy if you lose. Snejider was better than messi in the world cup, doesn't mean he was better in 2010.

    • @TwoFootball1998

@@ThatGuy-tx4vm In which games was Messi crucial? Against Granada? Levante? Getafe?
And the world cup is the most important tournament of the world, in a world cup year the world cup should be the key moment of a season. And Sneijder was by far the best player of the Netherlands. 5 goals and assists (top scorer), 5x man of the match and a spot in the team of the tournament. And in CL: 7 assists, 3 goals. He was also individual the best of that year, or let’s say the best together with Milito. You could also make a case for Milito, because we learned that the world cup didn’t decide this voting, which is just a scandal. But I can understand why Messi won it: it was the prime time of UEFALONA.

The only good awards imo are the best ucl player, mid, def, gk and attacker thats it. They are given for best performances. Believe me modric or mbappe can win this easily even tho mbappe had an average season. They were the most popular players of 2018. Even non football fans started to know these 2 names. I remember this day like yesterday, I was just an 8 year old boy with my inter milan kit at home, big crazy inter milan fan having been following them for my entire childhood, watching every single game, one of mourinhos biggest fans and the fantastic team he built in inter milan. Having milito and etooo posters in my room. It would be an understatement to say that they were not my football idols. Every single player in that team was playing for the badge, they would have died and bled for that team and for the army mourinho created that season that led to the treble, maicon an unstoppable force, sneijder such a creative player behind the unstoppable force of milito and etoo, zanetti is the only captain any team would ever want, cambiasso, stankovic, materazzi, pandev, julio cesar, muntari the number of stars in this team is unmatchable by any team ever. I remember watching the game at home in my parents bedroom on my own on a saturday on a small tv so attentively dying for an inter milan win as we all knew the dangers of muller and robben on the pitch then, I celebrated as hard as an 8 year old boy could after militos brace. This game meant everything to me in football, especially after all the pain we went through at camp nou before the final, i felt that pain, we all knew how mighty and unstoppable pep guardiolas team was in 2010, the rest of my family had no clue how much of a big day the final was to me and how I still look up to this game as one of the most important games ever since ive been watching football. i would pay anything to go back to that saturday eve of this game in 2010, actually everything to relive this beautiful memory. It would be a lie to say that I didnt cry a little watching this thinking about such good times, especially as I lived these all on my own as I did not have any inter milan fans friends. The passion in this season is unmatched. It is not something we would see now anymore but it is something I am definitely proud to have lived through and experienced, you will never ever ever ever see a team as disciplined and resilient as the one that Jose made here, this was an army, they were soldiers, they put everything on the line, sad that this does not exist anymore. Forza Inter!!!

-champions league perdendo scudetto e coppa Italia
-vincere scudetto e coppa Italia senza champions"
Io metterei la firma sulla prima opzione...
