Wow, this is spot on. Especially what you said about the misconceptions. Usually in group conversations I'm quiet, but that's because I really have nothing to say about the subject being discussed. Talk about something I have interest in, and it will be very hard to make me shut up.

I’m not an ISTJ but I’m a huge fan of them! To me, ISTJs and ISFJs are hands down, absolutely, the MOST underrated of all types. They’re super sensible and great to talk to but keep cool in conversations, they’re so hard working and dedicated, and little known fact, they are hilarious!!! They have such great wit in with humor. Two of my closest friends were an ISFJ and an ISTJ. Both have very special places in my heart. It’s so good to see that finally someone appreciates them and not looks at them like the boring robots of the sixteen types. If your reading this and your an ISxJ, thank you for existing! Love the video! From an INFP.

INFJ here: my boss is an ISTJ, and i adore him (like my coworkers). He‘s hard-working, reliable and supportive. Very loyal (when we fuck up, he takes responsibility as our leader).
I‘ve heard that he got degraded, he was in a very high position, but was very unliked. He got downgraded to our small department, and here he must have learned from his mistakes.

People see us as "mindless robots" because of our routine patterns and our cold rigid appearance but if you take the time to get understand us you find out that we are usually very warm and friendly people who have a vast knowledge to share. The things you said are spot on (except I wasn't a cool guy in my school but that doesn't really matter), and you made me smile. All these things were so nice to hear, especially considering the fact that today I read a lot of really hurtful comments towards us ISTJs. We are neither boring nor uninteresting. We are just really bad at expressing our feelings, have a difficult mindset, straightforward and quite stubborn.

Somehow we tread on dreams, fragment ideals, and explode self conceptions built on ego. That makes us vulnerable to attack from politicians and idealists. Both of which we hate. Likewise they hate us, as there smoke cloud doesnt wash. so we are in fact a dying breed!!!

People close to me call me the Professor or historian lol. People also tell me to create a channel about different topic's I've broken down to them but it's hard to find the feeling to start.
Just 1 ISTJ example; In high school I quit sports team's early when I noticed toxic patterns with coaches, player's, etc that always lead to a losing season, locker room drama, etc. I felt like all of those repetitive laps in practice wasn't worth it. They wanted me to play the year after and after but I know it would be the same nonsense. People came up with all kinds of rumors of why I quit but I didn't feel the need to explain. The only people who know my reasoning are my best friend's, 1 is an ENFP also.

Istj female here. My house would be much more organized but my husband isn't bothered by mess so his office is always a mess. 😅
The toddlers destroy the rest of the house. However my closets and pantry etc are pretty organized.
Ask my husband. I can talk his ear off when I'm thinking about something. Also work smarter not harder is one of my main mottos.
I LOVE history and tradition so I fall into the typical female role. When my husband doesn't follow completely into the male role in something I get annoyed. I still love him though and I'll be loyal to the end. ❤️😊
I want to do routines and it frustrates me because with my kids growing and wanting to "help" those routines never stay in place. Still I love them and I have to accept this is a season in life.
I'm from a large family and people say ISTJs learn from past experiences and that is so true. I watched my older siblings make mistakes and I have mental notes not to do those same things its crazy.
One thing I have trouble with being an ISTJ is making friends. It doesn't help that I move often because my husband is in the military. Anyway I have trouble with emotions and I'll be blunt with other girls when I need to be more feeling type. I have trouble expressing emotions. I can be watching a movie with other girls who will be crying over something and I understand the emotion but I wouldn't cry over it.
The few times I've cried in my adult life was because of shifting hormones. I didn't even cry when my children were born. I was happy but I can't express it well.

I've been mistyped as an isfp. After this video, I'm pretty sure I'm an istj. I've never seen myself as an organized person, but I'm definitely organized. My room is a mess, but I hate to see people leaving things out of place and invading my personal space. I have a strong sense of responsibility, live in the present, and use as little energy as possible because I don't like wasting energy on unnecessary things. I'm a procrastinator but I'm only a procrastinator because I know when it will be more appropriate to start putting the task into practice. I am deeply in touch with my emotions, but I like to keep them to myself, talking about them is very tiring because I know people may not understand me and judge me. I have strong values and it's hard to change them, I'm kinda loyal to them (??), more than other people. Seeing people wasting energy on things that aren't really necessary is tiring. Thank you sooo much for this video, it's the best one I've seen so far!:)

I have always tested as an INFP, but I've been professionally typed as ISTJ lol- which is funny because NT and ST were types I never even considered. I always felt I was much too... ??? not stupid per se, but not logically enough to be a "T" type. Then, throw in that "J" and I thought that was even more impossible than "T" :D . I am a very messy and unorganized sort of person.
I'd love to find more content about ISTJ's. Even better- content which doesn't portray the type as being super organized and either scientifically or mechanically inclined. Perhaps I'm hoping for too much with my E9 mucking up the works lol.

I have always felt so different than them and I guess our differences made me so curious, and the fact I have a friend who is ISTJ and sometimes we don’t get along very well (she’s very organized, serious, intelligent, etc.) and I improvise, can be childish, unorganized, procrastinate etc. so she does give me a lot of constructive criticism. So I break the problem down.” Hobbes asks if he focuses on the first section. Calvin replies, “I ask myself ‘Do I even care?’”And tosses the book over his shoulder.

    • @PsiCorps85
      @PsiCorps85 Před 5 lety +1

@@PsychologyandChillwMichi while I have been rather introspective at times, I think I consider the bigger picture fairly often. Like with the novel I'm writing, I'm trying to convey a dystopian future in which everyone on Earth is chipped, like currently companies are pressing for in a few places and claiming it's the inevitable future. I don't know if I might be famous ever, (sadly probably not really,) and help dissuade that or extend the timeline at least if that is possible, though maybe a better writer might steal my work and popularize the same concepts.
I see so many things messed up, especially with how freedom of speech is subverted by the far left for now, but it will cause backlash enough that for a few yearsthe pendulum will swing the other way and conservatives will be doing the same wrongful censorship the far left is doing, and it will be ironic hearing those currently opposed to free speech and saying "businesses can do whatever they want" completely reversing their stance once it doesn't benefit them.
I think eventually space finally will be colonized, starting with space elevators allowing way more mass to cheaply be brought into orbit, then skyhooks will be built, then automated construction of two orbital rings, first one at LEO, and then a geosynchronous one not requiring an orbital velocity wire hazard (which is how the orbital ring in my novel is destroyed, by shutting off the maglev system in one section, basically, and when the wire at 22,000mph contacts the sheath it would shatter fairly dramatically to say the least, since the platform itself would be artficially geosychronous and the impact would first strike with a few kilotons of energy at point of first contact, then act like a chain saw along the rest of the ring before it collapses.)
I tend to consider some conspiracy theories as plausible, but others as bunk planted deliberately to discredit those which legitimately speculate. I see the state as an oligarchy and voting as meaningless since all the options are just a selection of turds handed to the people by the rich to pick from.
I've never really cared for authority figures and I tend to respect autodidacts who love learning more than just people that get fancy toilet paper from overpriced indoctrination centers. I used to really want to go to college, but two years into college I felt it was a scam and it seems to be true. The loan debt scheme is just yet another extortion racket used to make wage slaves of everyone, and the homework is too easy so long as you just agree with your teachers in words. It's a farce to me it seems, and at $2,000 per class I can buy the same textbooks used and study the same material for $20 from a used book store, even though it makes me feel like washing my hands a bit to handle books others have.
So does that sound like I'm more Si minded or Ni minded?
      333 is cool too, 111×3.

OK so 1: I'm also writing a dystopian scifi where everyone is chipped!! (however, it's only in part of the world, not the whole world). and the main character does something about it. (don't want to tell too much) but I also have a technology where it uses a quantum computer that can plug into your brain and basically increase your brain's capabilities exponentially.
I think you have the potential to become famous with that kind of idea!! Push for it, because I would be really interested in that! I love dystopian scifi. I think we need more of it these days so we can start really thinking about the future and shaping instead of letting it take ahold of us. We all see different ways it would go and it's important to delve into that as writers.
Your second paragraph seems mostly Fi.
That idea of the elevators is SOOOO interesting!! omgggg I'm like... tell me more... tell me everything!!!!
I can also really relate to the school situation... I feel very similar.
I'm not gonna lie, you seem very Ni. Because I don't think an Si dom would spend so much time thinking about that kind of thing. They would be more individually focused. (from my experience with them).

@@PsychologyandChillwMichi that is impressive you're writing about a similar world. I also had neural implant idea, in my story, which were an option for those wanting more than just a basic microchip in the hands, which otherwise is required for any official transactions (leading to a vast underground economy). The neural implant might look something similar to Seven of Nine's eyepiece, and provide augmented reality for the user as well as ever more spying for the state (including punishing thoughtcrimes, since it would gather the actual thoughts and memories of each user, as well as act like yet another security camera for the Earth "Republic").
Space elevators or skyladders are actually an idea that's been around for a while, the main issue is construction. You probably know this I'd think, but it would basically use centifugal force to counteract gravity, and you'd have a station at the end. Minimal distance is the point where gravity is just balanced out, though with strong enough materials for the wires and the right design, the station could be far enough out to have full earth gravity. Orbital rings themselves would have tethers, much like a space elevator but only going a couple hundred miles rather than thousands, and could connect many cities throughout the world via trains. You should see Isaac Arthur's videos on this, they're on youtube. Here's one on space elevators: czcams.com/video/dc8_AuzeYKE/video.html And one on orbital rings: czcams.com/video/LMbI6sk-62E/video.html
I think quite a few of the tether stations will be in the ocean, using modified oil platforms with cities built around them and underneath them. Hyperloops built underneath the ocean floor will connect many of them, though they will be obvious targets for sabotage.
I sometimes have considered I might be ISTJ, statistically I know it is most probable, but I hope I'm INTJ really. I know that's a stupid thing to say really, and it wouldn't make me any smarter really (my IQ via neurologists at least is between 114 to 129, so I'm not Mensa material regardless, just Asperger's even though that supposedly isn't a thing anymore.) It's nice to hear that I might be more Ni than Si.

Interesting.... the city where the first book takes place is completely integrated into the augmented reality. Like buildings, food, hair, clothes, it's all augmented except for the people. Even the makeup is augmented. But the people with the "mobi" or mobile computer plug are able to go into their minds and create their own virtual realities, relive memories with full complete sensational reality (including thoughts). They also punish thought crimes and such, but people with mobis can protect themselves against it. So similar.... I love it because I feel like when people have similar ideas, there is some kind of validity to the idea. Like its much more realistic or likely to happen.
I will be watching these videos today!! I'm interested in it, but I see problems with it just on concept. I would think that having machines that are powered on something other than gasoline would be more effective. Like ships that could hover and counteract gravity and then self-propel through space. I'm just like... with the rotation of the earth.... if something goes wrong up above all those materials.... But I will watch it, maybe I don't fully understand the concept yet.
I think ISTJs and INTJs are equally smart, it's just a matter of the things you prefer to spend your time thinking about honestly. Are you thinking about connections and patterns or are you thinking about the past experiences. As a "memory" dominant (that's my personal term for it... basically people who mull things over all the time in their heads), you will be inherently good at both Ni and Si, but its like.. which types of memories/thoughts do you focus your mental energy on?
You should be proud to be either type :D

She'd rather lose a limb in a fiery auto accident and then while still bleeding and smoldering from flames, watch paint dry on the ceiling of the emergency room, while getting a root canal than show, talk about or be anywhere near things related to emotions. Boring? Maybe, maybe not (compared to an ESFP)? Conversation? Yeah, NO ... idle chit chat or just talking with humans in general appears to be like nails on a chalkboard for her.
