I first discovered Asterix years ago when my best friend in Belgium made a post of one of the anniversaries of the series and explained what it was for those who weren’t familiar with the comics.
Imagine being one of the most powerful empires in history, then getting your asses beat by a tribe of pre-Christian French guys. Couldn't be the emipre I owe my heritage to; they got screwed by India, then the Netherlands, then by piracy, then one of their colonies declared independence.
When I saw the trailer for this game I thought it was a remake of the arcade original but was surprised by how it's not. Makes me wonder whatll come up next. A new simpson Beat em up?
Well, I knew it. I knew, how the intro and the ending of this game will look like. Well, what to expect from the characters, whose everiest possible appearance in media (aside from the comics, also movies, or, as an example shown here, video games) start with a memo about their village, and end with a banquet?! This one aspect can make you actually hate the series, since it drills into your head, how everiest episode of it will start and end, ad naseaum! Maybe this is the reason, why series failed to find interest of English-speaking audience? Fortunately, some other aspects can make you actually like it, like humor, drawings, or even plots. As for the game itself, it looks rather nice, but it only showcases the overly repetitive nature of this franchise - not only every boss is ripped from the comic, but also they repeat a lot! I'm not planning to play it right now. Good job on it, anyway!
As much as I wanna be a fan of the series It’s easy… to a degree I can accept it having the same results over and over. I mean as long as it’s fun I’m fine. (Though I have adhd) I mean sure maybe that’s it but explain certain games like fop (No hate to them but still) I wish I could read that series much more easily. Sure it’s reperteive, but so is a lot stories…. Sigh I do t know But I wanna say the game is good though it is hurt by them re using bosses. Mainly red beard and centruion. It be nice if they took a dragons crown approach Stilll I adore asterix series and wish it was more accessible to the land of amerca
I have a feeling the remake is a bit too easy to beat compare to the original arcade version. Arcade are suppose to be hard so we can feed the quarters as kids

They should make boss battle at least hard not just “easy” boss battle, making boss fell easy to beat them. That’s shame.
You think that's easy well in normal and easy mode yes but in hard and harder mode this is where things going to get tougher than it looked.
