This clip took my breath away when I first saw it in 1980 - a live, single-take performance, wildly electric - and it still does. Ms. Ronstadt hits every note, and her vocal performance captures the ironic mood perfectly. A true artist, able to move through different genres with verve and precision. This one moment has stuck with me over the years like no other.

Linda was always rock and roll, remember she worked with the guys who became the Eagles. I was super excited to hear that she was into new wave and this single had her really shouting! What's especially good about it is that it's a live performance video. Nicely done!

This was actually the first hit by Billy Steinberg, co-writer of Madonna's "Like a Virgin," Heart's "Alone," Whitney Houston's "So Emotional," the Bangles "Eternal Flame," Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" and "I Drove All Night," and the Pretenders' "I'll Stand by You," all with Tom Kelly. Afterwards, he went on to a long career in the same dance-pop circles he started in, churning out numbers like JoJo's "Too Little, Too Late" and Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break" in the last decade alone.
