    My Mom fell and broke her hip last year trying to step into her bathtub so I had one of these put in to keep her safe. She's been enjoying it now for over a year and honestly I wish I had done it long ago. Now I have to buy another one! My wife has bad arthritis so she went over to my Mom's house to try it out and she was amazed how it helped her. These tubs are not cheap but how much is it worth to keep your loved ones safe and allow them to stay in the home they love.

      Could you leave a detailed review, including the price, the brand of tub, the size, what you like, if there is something you dislike, whatever you think is important

    • @steveparks6970

      @@babewhowalks Obviously the brand is Safe Step, I don't know what the size it is but I remember the rep said they hve 3 sizes and that they are all the same price. My Mom is 5ft. 3 in and she has plenty of room. I have never used the tub but my Mom says she loves how it helps her sleep and helps with her arthritis. The other thing she loves is the bidet jet tht helps her keep her clean. As far as cost, I paid about $17K. By the way, before i bought the tib I also got quotes from Kohler and American Standard. Both were more money and didn't have the features that Moms tub has. Another reason for my decison was that Kohler and American Standard (home depot) uses independent contractors to do the work whild Safe Step makes and install the tub themselves. Hope this helps. I'll make another post after my wifes tub is installed.

    i saw one in a showroom, company had it just to compare it, they didnt even sell them. that says a lot right there. anyways, a drain under the door to catch leaks, omg. a plastic door, egh. a glued on door seal. like the fewest fewest of all the tubs this place had. a 1/2" faucet, many had 3/4", fiberglass w gelcoat, brittle&chips. my sales guy had some cahones, started at 33k, we worked down to 23k. i think he wanted to balance my checkbook for me. used car sales, but polished and aggressive. dang. do some more research before you buy one of these. lots of good videos out there folks.

    They don't tell you. You must have a hot water tank that is twice the size or a rapid heater installed. Halfway through filling up, the water is cold. Most household hot water tanks can't handle the load.

      @back woods vapes your safe will hold 40 to 80 gallons depending on model. Your hot water tank will start to pull cold water in and heat it. As you pull more and more water your tank will not be able to keep the temp stable. It's a BTU issue. Not a volume issue. I soak all the way up to shoulders. Installed a rapid heater inline

    • @Jacques_Merde
      @Jacques_Merde Před rokem +1

    • @tswhite7929
      @tswhite7929 Před rokem +2

      @Jacques M your safe needs 40 to 80 gallons depending. Your hot water heater at min 60 gallons still will not keep up with the demand. It is a straight up BTU issue.
      Use a rapid heater in line. Or, upgrade to a 200 gallon heater. If you are going to take bath after bath after bath. You will thank the gods for having direct access to hot water.
      Take 40 gallons out of your 60min and see how long it takes to heat the cold water rushing in to replace what you took.

    • @safestepwalkintub
      @safestepwalkintub  Před 11 měsíci

      No need to concern yourself with leaks. Unlike showers our Walk-In Tub has a rubber sealed door that opens inward. After locking the door, the seal creates a water tight barrier. The weight of the water pressing on the door also helps seal the water in and makes it virtually impossible to open while in the tub. Our tub is the height of luxury. If you want to know more, visit SafeStepTub.com or give us a call.

    Ok, if you have a walk in tub and you aren’t using it, it is time to take a bath. I had a home health care worker over and when I told her how much I enjoyed my tub she said that other clients of hers didn’t use theirs. If you are in this category, you really have taken a bath on a very expensive therapeutic and maybe should have taken a cruise instead.
    The main concern her other clients had was it took too long to fill. Ok, what did you do while your old tub was filling up? Maybe turn on the faucets and go make youself a grilled cheese? Pour a glass of wine? Light candles? Unfortunately, you have to be in the tub now and all these chores done and at the ready for your new tub experience. I don’t know what kind of water pressure you have, but as the faucet on mine is widemouthed, there is significant force. I wash my hair while my tub fills. As I pay enormous amounts of money to make my hair a totally unconvincing color and want to keep it that way, I use cool water, turn it to hot while working the lather, rinse, repeat for conditioner. By that time, the water is half way up my calfs and time to turn on jets and add bubbles or salts or keep it naked, have a sip of my drink, water up to seat by this time. Adjust bubbles and settle in. During this time, I might do some leg lifts or bicycle my legs to keep those muscles going. With the water, it is low impact yet, some resistance. Then, before you know it, that water is up to your ta-tas. Ladies, time tore-aquaint yourselves with that bidet feature ( I call mine Ramone). Relax, enjoy, sip your drink. Nibble your chocolates. When it is time, pull the plug. As soon as the water level reaches my waist, I reach for a towel. I dry off as the water recedes and when it is all gone, prepare my exit.
    At this time, gravity will-have seriously intensified in your bathroom. Be sure to use safety measures in your exit. Pull the door to a resting stop and your tub should flush itself out. Time to moisturize, take care of your hair, and reminisce about the weightless experience you just had and wonder why you haven’t been doing this a couple of times a week if not more often.
    If it has been some time since you used your tub, pour a gallon of white vinegar into the tub and fill to the jets, run it for enough time to flush them out, drain and rinse, or repeat if it makes you more comfortable. Ask your dealer.
    So, tub away! Enjoy, do something wonderful for yourself.

    I have a question maybe someone on here could help me answer. My parents bought one of these. What I want to know is about the draining system. If you take a shower in it and that isn’t turned to the left, would it cause the tub part to hold water or cause any kind of leakage outside of the tub… thanks.

    • @danieleberly9629
      @danieleberly9629 Před měsícem

    • @cynthialunsford330

      @@danieleberly9629 sorry but this question was just worded wrong. I didn’t know anything about these tubs and my parents were complaining of a leak they believed to of been cause by it. Wasn’t making sense to me how they explained it, just that their basement/garage kept leaking water from somewhere. I watched this video trying to learn a little before I could make it up there. I was confused because they said it had a secondary drainage system or something leaving them to believe that the tub was causing the leak. Come to find out it was their hot water heater that had completely busted 2 days later. 🤷‍♀️ I know that when you close a drain the tub fills with water 😂🤦‍♀️ that’s kinda funny tho now that I reread that. I myself didn’t realize that this tub drain was also controlled by the lever on the tub. That’s where the confusion came in. They had me thinking it was a different drain they were speaking of. So I thought there was 2, one for a shower one for a bath.
