1999-2000 Jungle Print Run

- Stoked to crack a 1999-2000 Jungle Booster Box tonight. The cards came out visibly lighter with a smoother texture. Some cards, like Oddish, appear sharper in the card image. My understanding of the product was the texture may vary, but there shouldn't be any other differences with the cards. Put these side by side any USA Unlimited print Jungle, and I can tell you the European release right away. Such a cool experience to open Jungle again for what felt like the first time.
Other known differences: Box and packs have 1999-2000 copyright dates, but cards do not. Box and packs have the later WOTC curved logos. Pokemon is in yellow text on packs and Box.
I'll spend some time with the cards looking for more differences. Any text or distinct image differences would be huge. So far, it's color, texture, and maybe clarity differences. CZcams video will go up tomorrow.
Fun times in the hobby, and no, this is not April Fools.

We're all going to die, drink some sake and share the box with us, jungle is the set that beings me the most nostalgic joy.
Thanks for this video I noticed I had a jungle pack that was different now I know why, appreciate you
This is what I love about Pokémon, even with years in the hobby you can always discover something new and interesting.
I really love your appreciation and enthusiasm about Pokémon! Love watching how happy it makes you.

Full arts, rainbow rares, character rares, illustration rares all verry intresting and wonderfull in there own way but nothing, i meen nothing... beats jungle. Hand down most stunning set ever made. I love how the long crimped look on the packs it gives them a better vision.
Now i know why most of my Jungle cards are so light and some are dark af xDDD👍👍😂😂
Greetings from Germany!
Peace ✌️
Your just opening a vintage box for no special occasion and just for the fun of it ? Wow amazing
I believe this footage is from 2018 and he's only posting it up now. So the value of this box back then was no where near what it is today.
that oddish is nutttts
Super cool video! That oddish error was super easy to miss as well, didn't even see it until you pointed it out. The set symbol on the Snorlax looks to be a bit faded
So cool thanks for sharing. Id open them!!!
Open it for sure
This is special for sure!
Can you compare the texture (matte vs glossy) on the Snorlax? It expect it to be matte if it was printed in the USA and shipped overseas but can be another data point for/against that theory
very cool opening
maybe grade ~2 or 3 of each pack art and open the rest
Your passion for pokemon is amazing. It's good to see you still find things to be excited about after all your time collecting. I'm losing interest after being in the hobby for 3 years now as I prefer vintage to modern but can't afford to collect it😕
Vintage is so underpriced... How can you Not afford it?! Srsly most Base Set cards are still a few cents packfresh oO
@@Mallhall85 not the Holos in mint
🔥🔥🔥🔥
The differences are really cool. Wondering why you are thinking about grading all the packs though? I always thought the best way to maximize profits on one of these boxes once opened would be to grade the lights and sell them to collectors who don't ever want to open the pack and just want to keep the graded pack as a collectible. Then sell the heavies packs off ungraded as people would likely want to open or keep them to sell later, being able to certify them as heavy.
From what I gather is that his packs will get the unique 1999-2000 text on the PSA label. Making them more collectable because he can sell 34x 1999-2000 packs.
@@therunescapefreak12 ah that was the missing link for me. Makes a lot of sense.
Pokemon will live forever
Not my rattata, he died against a catterpie at level 5.
@@nyozha7154 I'm cool with that
sucks that it has the same listed copyright year on the cards. would be nice to collect a 1999-2000 variant like the au fossil cards
coolio
Are they any different from the Red Logo packs Jungle cards? The glossy/color difference seems very similar as those, compared to the US/international ones. :)
If your just opening to grade the packs why grade the heavy packs and not the holos?? Just curious that's all
To me it looks as if the jungle symbol on that snorlax is more faded conpaired to the commons.
Grade the light packs - rip the heavies
Definitely grade the light packs cause they are rare and sick and they look epic. you probably don’t have Much more of a chance of pulling an error weather it’s a heavy or light so i hope you open a couple more heavy 👀 anyway your the master of the Pokemon tcg your choice.
Grade the light packs and open the heavy
in your situation i would open until you have a compleet non holo set and grade them, if you have a complete non holo set psa 10 don't open more and grade the rest of the packs, if you don't have all in psa 10 than open all and hope for the best haha. would be super cool if you have a complete psa 10 "light" jungle set!
This might be your only chance to do this
