This movie is a masterpiece. Its weirdness and unpredictability is its greatest gift. It delivers a powerful message of hope in a depressing world. The music in the last 5 minutes is simply breathtaking! I love weird movies with unpredictable surprise twists and endings. Shyamalan never ceases to amaze me with his scripts. I'm sick of the same predictable bs that Hollywood puts out. This movie breaks every Hollywood rule and it still succeeds in my opinion!

  • @lucasolson9132
    @lucasolson9132 Před rokem +9

This was my one of my best friend's favorite soundtracks. He was a wild Irishman, full of life. His eyes were always full of wonder at the world; He had broad shoulders and flaming red-brown hair that cascaded over his face like a waterfall. His eyes were fierce and piercing.
I would come home exhausted from college courses, and Johnathan would be sitting in the dark, surrounded by towers of second-hand books, listening to this score with his fingertips pressed together and a look of intense concentration on his face. I would join him in his wonder.
He was not made for this world.
His heart always longed for eternity and what lay beyond, and his faith in his Creator was unshakable.
He saw magic everywhere; in the stars, the earth, and the rain. For him, every creature and leaf was connected in a beautiful dance. He looked at Death as a friend, and he was utterly fearless.
He got married to a girl who adored him and they had a tiny baby girl with red hair and dark Italian skin.
Then, one day in late July, I got the call that everyone dreads. There had been a horrible accident at work.
I remember feeling like my brightest star had died.
We dug his grave with our own hands on his father's land. I climbed into the hole and lay there for a while, staring up at the night sky after the sun had sunk below the mountains. We built his coffin out of pine boards and laid him to rest the next day. We buried him with his favorite sword and dagger next to his side; I felt it was fitting for a man born out of his time. I couldn't hardly look at his wife or his little one-year old daughter; I thought my heart would break in half.
It's been years now. My heart still aches for our loss. I always wonder what incredible things he has seen since then.
I long with all my heart for the day I can see his face again; Death seems less dark knowing that he already crossed that river.
Rest east, Johnathan. I'll see you on the other side.

+Florante Baguio I liked it, and I'd consider myself a fairly knowledgeable movie-goer. The weakest part of the film was the plot for me. It was preposterous. It seemed to be making things up as it went along. There were so many terms you had to keep track of and the prologue was a last-minute attempt to make it comprehensible to the viewer. However, the cinematography, acting, and music are great. It's enjoyable to watch, but if you think about it, it falls apart a bit.

I agree, I think as humans we might not realise, but all of our pain and our struggle for acceptance, and our loneliness is only there because we are absent of love. We can only find it by opening up our hearts to others. Nothing but goodness can come from that. God can really help with that. A personal relationship with him is the best way to know what you preach is loving and good. But if you're non religious, still opening your heart to gentleness and love will make you the best you can be :)

Why are we fighting here? This should be where the most pure commentary resides. Stop spoiling it for others and stop allowing for anger to consume you.

    Trop beau, le film,
    Trop belle, la musique,
Il est difficile de revenir à la réalité,
    Ce n'est qu'un film...

is there any soundtrack JNH can't do well? the beginning is so magical sounding and wistful, and the end is so gorgeous it makes the ending of the movie even sadder for me (since Story likely won't ever see those people again).

Another epic fantasy underrated score by the musical genious of James Newton Howard. An entertaining film with an epic oscar worthin' soundtrack . Like Signs ! That man created my most beloved soundtrack of all time , and he deserved a reward for this . Too pitty ! Lady in the water is the transition soundtrack before King Kong another beloved one soundtrack . That man is a genious !
Thanks Hollywood Studio Symphony for that epic performance of the score ! Mystery , sadness , nostalgia , emotional passes , and great adventurous agony, horror , and high bitter- sweet triumph !

You're absolutely right. He CAN play any role he wants. And the people who watch it CAN hate him for it if they wish. But, why are you so upset that so many hate him? Ive never seen anyone defend him so hard in my whole life; and I never once said I hated the movie, but you're attackin me like Im your mortal enemy because I hate a SINGLE aspect of the movie? And you think I have issues. M Night is one of the most hated directors right now in the world but....try not to lose any sleep over it
