Followed your steps, and was able to get the drive tray to operate like new again. Unfortunately, the drive still won't read any disks. I've got a 2nd XBOX that doesn't work. Opening it up, to see if it has a compatible drive...to use in the 1st XBOX. Thank you for the detailed instructions. Really enjoyed learning how to do this.
I went through four of the white xbox 360's with the RROD and other issues before I settled for the black slim model and it's worked for me like a champ for almost 10 years.
Any advice on removing the T6 screws if they’re badly stripped? Edit: i used a properly sized T10 screwdriver instead of the T6 size incorrectly recommended in this video.
Weird question maybe but have you ever tried to replace a xbox 360 drive with a hd-dvd drive? So you could use the xbox as a hddvd player? Just curious if its possible. Thanks
I have a black Xbox 360 and I don't have the tools for this and also you say look for the push points but where is the push points on a black Xbox 360?
@@BestOfBernieMentions nevermind I replaced the console with a new one. And no it's a slim. And I wanted answers 2 weeks ago but people always reply way to late🤦🏻♂️.

@@blainelocklair I've been using my Halo Reach slim near daily since release 11 years ago
Still a valid guide to this day. But the drive belt should be replaced as it’s stretched but still a great disassembly guide 👍
My Xbox 360 was broken for months and now I fixed it thanks for the advice
Cheers, video worked a treat!

I can't get the drive to turn enough to be able to open the disc tray manually. I feel like if I pull much harder it will break. Any tips?
